And we're on the the anniversary joke
Oh, and Pete has announced he isn't retiring. Is anyone else getting a Terry Funk vibe?
Okay, based on the fact that Torg is not a complete idiot (I know, citation needed) when it comes to alliances, I have to figure that he knew Bun-Bun would go after Oasis like this. I bet that's why he broke away from Oasis when he did. In fact, I'm fairly certain that he knew a Mêlée à Trois would break out, and that Riff would have the sense to not fire in the middle of it.
This might even be a Xanatos Gambit for Torg to get rid of someone he sees as a dangerous Wild Card - either Oasis or Bun-Bun.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Huge website redesign. I don't like it. Too many bells and whistles and slow-loading graphical menus.
Am I the only one who can't figure out how to go back a day in this new design?
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Found it! You go to the Archives, open the current book (Falling: 70), then scroll to the very bottom of the page.
[[spoiler:so yes, not particularly friendly)
deviantArt | TwitterYeah, that's bad. Webcomics 101- have your navigation links right out there on the main page.
Okay yeah they are still alive in space But yeah new site is hard to navigate
So anyone wanna guess if Kusari has a shocking real identity?
I mean, for all I know turns out she was Sasha or something, probably wouldn't make sense but would explain her abrupt death I guess
I believe it's been established she's a semi-successful attempt to create a more controllable Oasis 2.0. So if we ever see her without her mask, she'll likely to be some random person we've never seen before, or Oasis..
Is there someone we've seen from alternate realities that hasn't gotten a counterpart in the prime universe yet? That's my guess.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Schlock mentioned at one point (forever ago) that whoever is under the mask has some connection to the group. Like I said, it was forever ago, so I really doubt I'm going to be able to find the comic.
It seems to be implied that Riff figured something out from being headbutted. I don't know what that might be...
Is Oasis basically someone in jar controlling clone bodies if she can see through facility's cameras?
Maybe... but at the same time, Torg's statements are equally true of the world as we know it today. I know mad science does warp things a bit in Sluggy, but it might be arguably true even in the comic's timeline (I think the Digbots are the first indication that computing may have become that powerful, and wifi may still have the same limitations that the real world has).
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Gee. I. Wonder. What. Kusari's. Face. Is.
(I think most of us have a slight, sneaking suspicion...)
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger.Sasha?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersShe's the only one that makes sense at this point, especially since this arc made a point of bringing her back and then abruptly kill her off - with the heroes even leaving her body behind iirc. The only other candidate I can think of besides the crack idea is possibly Izzy, which is unlikely given that we have enough to go on to conclude that her backstory with the vampires probably isn't a lie. Plus, for reasons I'll go into further down, it being anyone who is actually in Torg's organization is highly unlikely.
The explanation for Oasis' nature thus far all but confirms that it's possible for there to be more than one of them running around at once, and Sasha has been seen in the same place (or approximately) with Kusari at some point.
Sasha being Kusari would also explain something that's been nagging at me for a while. When she first saw Riff after he returned from the Dimension of Rain, she tried to kill him immediately - no preamble, she just unloads an entire clip into his face and only stops upon realizing killing him is impossible - and afterwards she snaps to talking through it in a way that felt rather abrupt and resigned. Sure, we find out later that there was a "kill on sight" order with Riff, but Sasha was deep undercover to keep tabs on Torg - and HC needed her deep undercover: Schlock saw Torg as a threat, and as this current situation showed they had no other operatives keeping as close tabs on him as she was nor did they ever succeed in installing another (otherwise they could have avoided this, so that disqualifies Izzy). In the big picture, Sasha following that kill order ruined everything for HC.
A spy as good as we're led to believe Sasha is would have belayed the order and made use of the situation while retaining her cover, but if Sasha was Kusari - literally unable to not follow the "kill on sight'' order despite knowing it was a bad idea, it would explain both her actions and her general demeanor after The Reveal.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Ah, Sasha. This answers and raises so many questions.
I predict Kusari will be getting an evolution into a more outright Tragic Monster in the next few weeks.

Forever liveblogging the Avengers
You know Schlock at least is still alive somehow. Maybe he wasn't even in the headquarters building.
