The Total Drama series

They've probably retcon'd it in hindsight since every following season has been for 1 million.

While I think the real explanation is that the writers just forgot, I would believe that Owen just forgot in-universe as well, especially since he didn't keep the money.

My head canon is that Owen(as a PRO reality show contestant) won it on a reality show contest that we'll never see.

As for the latest episode and the best friends all I have to say is uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. That ugh isn't in capitals as it doesn't make the episode bad, but dear LORD are they really doing the romantic turnabout with them? But on the one hand it is nice that Carrie realized she shouldn't let some dumb hunk rule her life. And honestly, I'd be okay if they didn't get together(as long as we keep Nemma of course).

Honestly Devin was only really fun when the dude was having a mental breakdown over his breakup. His behavior was hilarious.

Agreed, also a disturbingly accurate portrayal of the stages of grief. And not just accurate, well written! Total Drama is doing well written accurate portrayals of real life things now! EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!

Ice dancers are evil, and the best friends are every rom com stereotype ever written, lookin' good so far!

A right shame to see the Goths go. Despite their... gothiness, they were really nice.

Screw those ice dancers. I want what happened to Scott done to them. Moreso the gal than the guy. But still both of them.

Let's hope THIS season doesn't decide to do one of their famous "karma houdinis" and lets them off easy.

Hopefully there's no alternate ending in case. I wonder theirs a case that they'll either lose in second or their place. Second cause that be a silver metal & the perfect form of irony or third meaning they get bronze which is way worse.

Also hopefully Devin & Carrie dont get together, to cliche. I kinda liked Carries interaction with Ryan, kindly offering the poor guy a hand. Hopefully Devin suffers a lot.

...yeah I kinda hope Devin suffers to a bit, I mean in real life it is a friggin' CHALLENGE to find a great person to be with, but guys like this all ready friggin' HAVE them but don't see it because plot.

And now we have the final 5. Although there was an ad for next Thursday on cn that showed the best friends and aters out and the surfers back in with sanders having a cast and Brody having a pot belly. So it looks like the final 4 are surfers cadets ice dancers and sisters which I am more than fine with

That's literally my dream finale and then some, I would be so psyched to see which of the four teams wins it.

So far RR is shaping up to be one of my favorite season of TD . The characters are likable, they all have their own arcs, and there are very little characters in the scrappy department.

Agreed, this has been a great season overall. Plus I think Don is just an overall superior host to Chris.

I think what works for Don is he's a lot more subdued with his Jerkass moments.

Wanted to add something after viewing tonight's episode; he doesn't turn a blind eye to blatant cheating. That type of thing annoyed the hell out of me about Chris.

Have to agree there with more subdued elements. Really, with him, Don has always felt more amoral at worst (and even then, it's clear he has a conscious given fact he isn't cool with blatant cheating and has questioned if something was allowed) than depraved like Chris.

And huh, having thought on it, there have been a lot of happy endings so far this season with each of the teams even if they did lose the million. Kelly got tired of Taylor's shit; The Goths were happy with everything, had fun doing stuff they liked, came out of it a stronger couple, and got Loki; Owen & Noah had a good time with things and Noah now has a future girlfriend; Dwayne & Junior both have a stronger relationship now with one another, as Dwayne desired; The Stepbrothers stopped bickering with one another; The Fashion Bloggers strengthened their bond with one another; The Surfers are still happy as friends plus choice to lose as they did; and Spud grew as a person when it came to things and ready to take on more responsibility.

I'm surprised to say it, but yeah Don feels a LOT better in that he's a lot more low-key than Chris, especially since he actually gets hurt here and there during the show. Chris almost NEVER faced karma for his actions, even in "All Stars" where he had Owen trap all the former contestants in fart balloons. It also helps that (let's get real here) Terry Mc Gurrin Laggan is a better voice actor than Christian Potenza, WAY more range

That certainly helps with fact Don suffers from things too sometimes. Really, if I had to break down the styles, I'd say Don feels more like an actual host and referee to things (really, if I'd give him an alignment, I'd say Don comes off as Lawful Neutral) while Chris is more of a Neutral Evil sadist.

I just want to say I liked the callback to the phrase "kiwis" in tonight's episode.

I'm starting to feel bad for Devin lol

So I'm assuming that, especially since Don has brought it up these past two episodes, the Ice Dancers' obsession with cheating is eventually going to bite them in the ass.

Hell yeah it is I mean Don telling the Ice Dancers to actually get eliminated & says he has sweet dreams bout it is fucking hilarious. I was screaming like crazy, cheering that their brain-dead idiocy bit them in the ass & was screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOO when the Daters stopped.

Also Devin really made me grind my teeth so I enjoyed watching him suffer. Their prolly next cause the Cadets hate them now.

If it's true that the surfers are coming back then my predictions for the next rounds of eliminations will be

Best Friends > The Cadets > The Ice Dancers.

With the Returners and Sisters in the final two.

Wow then that be a win-win situation. Just be the nicest competitors (& Emma) & either victory would be pretty deserved.

When Kitty and Emma told out Devin? At that moment, they were my SPIRIT animals. Its like, REALLY?! You couldn't tell you dumb bastard?!

It's a final three this time around, not final two.

Best moment of this episode was when Emma ended whatever she said to Devin with, "...with you, ya turkey!"
