Well spoilers for ZZ. she changes over the course of ZZ thanks to Judou and his sister, but at the end of the series even she shares Kamille's opinion of herself as she basically commits suicide.

Like I've said before, I've always thought the Newtype Bonding Moment is basically a moment of intense and uncontrolled vulnerability, and people who lash out after it are probably the norm.

30th anniversary, hmmm? Welp, I guess I know what entry I'll be watching next!

Sorry 0079 and SEED, you just got back-burner'd!

[up]I really won't skip 0079 since it shows what happens before zeta.

[up]I do, at least, have a rough understanding of the 0079 plot, though. So it's not like I'm going in completely blind like I did with CCA some years ago.

[up]Would still recommend actually seeing the original show before Zeta.

[up]I'm tempted to respond with a joke about how "good, now I won't have to reprogram you" but there's just no way to do that without coming off as creepy. Then again, I suppose if I wanted to avoid that, I probably shouldn't have picked Neo as my avatar.

Anyway, at just over 40 episodes, MSG is a pretty quick watch. The animation is very clunky, and the voice acting stilted, but the story (which to me at least, is the important part) holds up decently well. Besides, it's the only Gundam show where you are likely to see the cast menaced by the horror of The Great Salt Shortage.

[up]I've actually already seen the first half-dozen or so eps of 0079, but it's been long enough that I feel I have to restart from the beginning. Ditto for Gundam Wing, really.

Don't forget the great Old People Rebellion. I'll never look at my Grandparents the same way again...

[up][up][up]Watching it, I think the voice acting is actually pretty good (or at least, nothing to complain about). But then, I am watching the dub, so the voiceover work has probably 20 years over the animation.

Y'know, several months ago when I made my first go at 0079, I didn't really care for "Fly, Gundam!" And now? Now I love the heck out of that theme. Just a useless piece of information I thought I'd share.

And speaking of things I love the heck out of, IT'S FRAU~~~!!!! I think Frau is just too damn cool. She may not be an MS pilot, but she's still probably my favorite female character in the franchise. No, wait, second favorite. Allenby Beardsley will always be my first favorite. No, wait, third favorite after Elpeo Puru. ...POINT IS, I REALLY LIKE FRAU, OKAY?

'm pretty sure half of tho MSG episodes were filler.

The main antagonists are collectively in about...what, six or seven episodes?

Yeah i didn't like MSG much.

I love the beginning of MSG. It's lke 5 or 6 episodes of continuous story. I'm not used to seeing this type of thing. Usually, episodes are standalone in their plots and they all link together but even then there are breaks in-between. For MSG, the next episode would pick up mere seconds after the previous one.

And then SEED did the same but with better pacing.

Though the middle part of MSG did get dull.

0083 Technical Manual says in the "Gundam Official Report:"

"The true nature of the Titans was revealed in what came to be called the "30 bunch incident." On July 31st UC 0085, Anti-Federation civilians organized a massive demonstration on Side 1's 30 Bunch to protest Titan actions. The gathering soon grew out of control and riots broke out throughout the colony. The Federation ARMY came in to try and suppress the unrest, but was unsuccessful. Finally, they called in the Titans to resolve the situation using whatever means necessary.

What resulted was a massacre. Without warning, the Titans shut off air circulation to 30 Bunch and pumped the colony full of gas, killing millions of civilians. There was a complete news blackout surrounding the event. The official explanation was there had been a massive epidemic that had spread rapidly. Federation Council executives, fearful of their own safety, never chaged the Titans with any wrongdoing. This proved that the Titans indeed held total control over the Federation."

I remember the many arguments where I said the Zeta-era Federation were evil and that they can be held accountable for the Titans' crimes.

I'm happy.

If Ambar or Jovian get on later and want to argue with me, please read this. The Federation are culpable in the deaths of millions of civilians. That's just a fact I'm aware of now and that's all I was out to settle.

Hey, nothing in that invalidates any of the arguments against you.

Since most of us were in fact already aware. I guess you're just doomed to be late.

I should probably add a Char quote here, but I can't decide which one.

The arguments against me have always been "Federation =/= Titans." We see here the Federation are completely complicit with the Titans.

They don't care millions of people died. Because they're racist and hate Spacenoids.

Question! When the hell did the Titans appear? Like after MSG and the One Year War?

They are formed at the end of OVA series or whatever it was 0083 Stardust Memory. At least as far as I know.

[up][up] The events of 0083 set forward to events to the creation of the Titans to root out the remaining Zeon remnants and prevent further attacks on earth. The crew of the Albion are even seen wearing titan's uniforms in the final scene

Wasn't that after Zeon remnants had dropped a huge ass colony and wiped out most of the US farmland thus leaving people to starve?

So while the Titans are evil, unquestionably from what I understand, do you think it started out as a "Road to Hell paved with Good intentions" sort of thing or a reactionary response because the Zeon Spacenoids kept committing atrocity after atrocity leading the Feddies to be so paranoid and reactionary?

I wanna know because I am genuinely curious as to why the Feds who had supposedly improved with the heroes of the OYW in charged would make the Titans.

It's a population misconception the Federation were good guys. They were mostly just the less bad guys.

If you watch Zeta you will see the entire show demonizes the Federation.

I would also honestly recommend not watching Stardust Memory. It's the one Gundam series I never finished. There's just not a single likable character in the show IMO.

Except Gato and he wasn't around enough.

Wasn't Zeta written while Tomina was going through a major bout of depression?
