I still can't believe it's actually happening.
Oh really when? It's… for real…? ;_____; My god I'm happy. And Trico is adorable hnnnng…
Still affraid of the Duke Nukem Forever effect ("horray, the game is finally released! … and it sucks!")

You know what they say about Development Hell, once Lucifer dragged you in it's hard to get out.

Is the model for the boy finalized?
It's good and all, but it clashes with the rest of the game's aesthetic pretty badly.
I hope we get a name/nickname for the chimera soon that rolls a bit easier off the tongue than variations of Dog-Cat-Birb, heh.
Also deeply curious to see if/how its horn-stumps tie into the ICO mythos.
It does rather look like he's been lifted from a cel-shaded game, doesn't it (I don't really mind, though). Was he always this heavily tattooed?

Apparently its name is Trico. (Get it, because this is the third Team ICO game in the "series")

Ooh, yeah, I remember now. I wonder if they're still using it after all these years.
Speaking of, Mr. Fumito (i.e. the creator) has now set up his own studio called genDesign and its webpage seems to have, eeeh... is that a Trico skeleton I spy lying on the bottom there?
Also there's some box art floating around but I've yet to see it confirmed as official, it looks a bit fanmade.
I do have to wonder though. Will the game actually make the release date of 2016, or will it be delayed again?
For that matter, I still can't shake the Duke Nukem Forever syndrome that haunts this game. When you delay a game time after time, whatever you make needs to be something incredible, and not dated.
Duke Nukem Forever also had the problem of through several development teams, with the transitions so bad you can see where different engines were used.
It seems obvious, at least to me, that the reason we haven't seen this until now is that they wanted to get as much power out of the PS 4 as possible before showing it off again. Especially with the "every feather is individually rendered" thing.
On that note, Trico has probably had 3+x more work than anything else in the game.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyThe problem with this game was that the team split up a bunch of times to work on other things and thus didn't work on TLG.

I'm happy yet scared.
Is this a Jo Jo reference?I'd argue that Ueda, auteur that he is, will ensure that the game will come out in the best possible quality even with the Troubled Production. It ain't many games that go through this that retain their director.
I'm so happy.
ueda is contractually obligated to finish this game, but i'm sure that he cares a lot about this game anyway. he's an artist, not a suit.
I assume this is pretty much (at least partially) the main reason for the protracted wait? It'd fit some claims made earlier in this very thread, even.
Also, the PS 2 version of Colossus -~-"
I really won't mind if the game looks a bit dated. I have confidence it will play well and have an interesting narrative, and that's all I really want from Team Ico.
Anyone else think it's likely that it'll link back into the other two games? The architecture looks similar to what you see in Shadow Of The Colossus, and what's with the creature's glowing horns? It didn't always have those, right? In older videos, I mean. It reminds me a lot of the kind of glow seen on Colossi. My pet theory at the moment is the creature is some kind of proto-colossus, but there's no evidence for that.
I don't think it looks dated at all. I mean Trico the creature is far more advanced than any of the Colossi. Those feathers and the animation itself. And the boy has an actual face too.
"The Last Guardian went silent because of Sony, not Team ICO"
Seems Mr. Ueda was actually completely satisfied with the game as it was in its original PS 3 incarnation and didn't think there were any technical issues at all, the decision to delay it onto the PS 4 was exclusively Sony's.
Was that the sole reason the game was delayed for so long? Or was that just the latest thing to cause more delay?

Doesn't the original announcement predate the PS 4's release by a good three or four years? That's a hell of a delay if having it as a PS 4 release was the only reason. I can only guess they really wanted another exclusive on the newer console.
Still, let's just be happy it is finally on its way for sure :)
If it was only delayed to be a PS 4 title it probably would have been a launch title. Something else must have happened.

It's going to show up at TGS next Tuesday in a "new and exciting way", though inbetween the phrasing and translation I don't know if they're talking about gameplay or the way they're going to show the footage.
Looks like the Dog has an innate fear of whatever that red and purple eye icon is. I'm guessing it's the symbol of the cult they're escaping from, or maybe what he was conditioned to fear as a source of punishment.
And on another note... I just wanna hug the life outta that giant dog-bird, he's so adorable!
