Fallen has so many demons to choose from that Giten divides it into two races and I think still didn't cover everyone.

[up] IV's selection was pretty good, but I'm hoping Flauros and Forneus return for V. Ose and Decarabia need their besties!

I am really excited for SMTIV when it comes out in the PAL region in September. It'll be just under $30 AUD on release, which is a good price. It'll be worth the several hours it'll likely take to download.

Okay, I'm confused. How am I supposed to access the Labyrinth of Amala? I warp there with the Terminals and the only thing I can do is look through that peephole, but apparently I could've accessed it as soon as I beat Matador?

you need to put the candelebra down on the pedestal, and a door will open up. go through that door and you'll play a short tunnel minigame which will be very rewarding in the last one after you burn through the massive amounts of money the amala gives you elsewhere.

then you should be in the first kalpa.

if thats not happening...then im not sure whats going on, but looking through the peephole should not automatically place the candelebra so im gonna assume you havent done that yet?

I had no idea there was a pedestal anywhere. I'll try looking now.

Edit: Found it. I'm stupid.

Nah. Its actually not obvious. Took me a while to find it and I knew what I was looking for.

So because I have no experience with either...

Which is harder, the Demi Fiend fight from DDS, or the Amala Grave Run from Nocturne?

I mean, it might work as a three-part special or an OVA, but SMT IV is pretty gameplay-heavy and story-light, with most of the real story being found in conversations with the random denizens of Tokyo.

If any SMT gets an animated adaptation, the Raidou Kuzunoha games would probably provide the best material.

I sure said that!

amala grave run?

you talkin about the boss rush?

shouldnt be too hard.

dds demi fiend is sometimes considered one of if not the hardest jrpg bonus boss of all time, and even with the optimal strategy, 100% maxed stats and all the best skills, its still a matter of luck if you can win or not, and the best strategy has a disclaimer that you are going to lose at least 3 times following it.

Amala's Grave Run is child's play to the Demi-Fiend in Devil Saga 1, to put it simply. The Grave Run can be prepared against. Compared to the Demi-Fiend, in which you can lose after an hour into the fight for a stupid reason and not be able to do anything about it aside from retry.

Guess who started playing the recently released beta patch for Kyuyaku Megami Tensei?

Guess who keeps getting killed by Gnome mobs in the Tower of Daedalus?

Guess who still sucks at demon negotiation, even after Nocturne?

This guy!

and random.

even in soul hackers, where they're at least consistant while talking to the same one.

Nocturne is actually probably easier thanks to Instant Negotiation being a thing.

That is true.

However, demons are still assholes no matter the game. They'll rob ya blind and turn tail and run, or get a free hit on ya, or claim they'll give you a gift if you hand them a Life Stone... Only for the gift to be the same Life Stone.

I sure said that!

I noticed that KMT gives me options of how to approach it aside from the "automatically goes to bribe" option Nocturne did.

Of course, the one demon I did recruit, I did by bribing. The other demons didn't seem to respond to the other options with anything but violence or apathy.

[up]Demons do the Life Stone trade thing so much, they did it to me in P1 a few times even.

I just realized Metatron's battle theme in Nocturne is the Law theme from SMT 1.

KMT progress: I made it past the third floor of dungeon and recruited Hequt. She's kinda weak, but hey, back up heals?

QDS progress: I got Quantum Devil Saga and am reading it.

Nocturne progress: ...I forgot to play Nocturne.

EDIT: More KMT progress: After a lot of woe and reloading, I finally got to the sixth floor and recruited a Dryad. Naturally, I can't fuse any of these demons into anything I can control. Back to the grind.

More more KMT progress: Nakajima now has Cancer. This is somehow a good thing. I need to grind for Macca before I can summon Cancer though. Back to the grind.

Kyuyaku progress: After careful dungeon crawling, recruiting a Bogle, and use of the "Defend" command, I finally beat the Tower of Daedalus!

...the Minotaur is really hard, holy crap. I effing clinched it, killing him with all of my demons killed and Nakajima and Yumiko hanging on for dear life.

Also, on a whim, I started MTII as well, and it's Tower of Daedalus segment and Minotaur boss fight is like a million times easier. It's shorter and the boss is like half the level, for one. I heard a rumor that Devil Busters was, top down perspective aside, a one-one remake of Daedalus from the first game and no it isn't. It's much streamlined and filled with more tutorial stuff.

Also, an NPC in Micon comments on it being a "nostalgic" area, which I thought was cute.
