A Game of Gods: A Multiversal Challenge

"Would Force Lightning do? Or, as a last resort, I am sure that my lightsaber will."

Vanitas summoned a dark fireball around one hand.

"You wanted fire?"

"I do not think fire would be of much use against a being that can consume stars."

"We cannot afford to become bogged down in endless battles! We must go at once!"

He peered over the side of the spinner at the two people holding it up.

"Your help is greatly appreciated, but if you could follow the doctor's directions, you will not need to continue exerting yourselves in this manner."

Sec switched his Manipulator Arm for a Defoliator.

"Agreed," Ravage muttured, aiming his blaster into the shadows from which the hideous aberration had originally come. "We need to get out of here, and now—the creature isn't alone anymore."

Indeed, his observation was correct; even as the transmetal panther spoke, two more of the serpentine entities slithered out of the dark and across the walkway. They were identical to the first in nearly all ways, save that these were noticeably small and lacked the six swaying, frondlike appendages which had appeared on the original creature after it had regenerated. The three ophidians stared silently at the challengers, gazing into their souls with a cold, detached interest.

"Rey ... Stop... Stop now... We need you."

Rey gritted his teeth, finally closing his eyes and turning away, putting his hands over his ears. "Stop it, stop it stop it stop it stop it..."

The larger of the ophidians began to slither towards Rey ever so slowly, and as it approached the creature's skull of a face became hazy and indistinct.

Gordon finally sprang into action, briefly looking away from the creature approaching Rey to get his vision to clear and his headache to let up. He raised the Gravity Gun, took aim, and fired a bolt from it. It was a simple jolt of kinetic energy, enough to knock someone over.

Rey kept his eyes squeezed shut, shaking his head furiously. "Shut up, shut up, stop it STOP IT! LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Jack drew his sword, attempting to look at the approaching monsters out of the corner of his eye. Leaning over the side of the spinner, his voice became taut with urgency.

"We are out of time! Go!"

"He's gone mad," stated Galen. Eyes still closed, he found Rey through the Force, and Pulled him towards him.

Sec shot a Stun shot at Rey.

Rey grunted when he felt the pull, flinging up two spheres of shadowstuff. "Let me go let me go LET ME GO!" He grunted at the stun, blinking, going more or less limp in Galen's grip.

Galen intensified the Pull; simultaneously, he Pushed Sec so his stun blasts would go wild.

Sec was thrown out of sight by the Push. Again.

Rey grunted lightly as he dropped to the ground near Galen, blinking, still a little out of it from the shot that managed to hit.

The Doctor flies to Rey. "GO NOW! Go! We need to escape!"

"If we cannot kill it," Bolas spoke to everyone focusing on the creatures, "We'll banish it from the plane. Luckily fire can be a very versatile tool." With that, Bolas created and fired off a blast of flame that was pure red and white, no other color present.

The two smaller entities surged into motion as Sec dropped out of sight, flying after the plummeting Dalek with a speed that belied their sluggish movements from a moment ago. Meanwhile, the large one continued to drift towards Rey, its face blurring, flowing and shifted like molten wax as it took on a new aspect. It halted momentarily as Gordon's blast struck it, recoiling faintly from the impact of gravitic force, and then continued on its way, seemingly unperturbed by this momentary interruption.

Rey, a voice whispered in the luchadore's mind, rousing him to consciousness. Rey...Rey...Rey...

Ravage took aim at the creature, squinting once more. "Now, Zod!" he barked. "Which way, Doctor?"

"North!" Dr. Langley called, averting her gaze from the approaching monstrosity.

Just before the creature would have reached Rey, it was struck head-on by Bolas' spell. This time, the attack got a reaction out of the entity; recoiling and writhing in obvious pain as the flames washed across its body, it opened its mouth and let out an awful, ratcheting scream like misaligned gears grating against one another, stripping each other down to the bone.

—Megatron glared at the writhing thing, then lunged for it, spinning his blades like those of a helicopter before him.—

Rey let out a slight whine, moving to hold his head, shaking it furiously, his voice having gone back to usual. "No...no no no no no, leave me 'lone..."

The Doctor goes north. Very quickly.

"Allow me to assist you, golem." Bolas snapped a quick enchantment on Megatron, the Decepticon's head becoming ringed with fire, a power which, although unnoticed, also imbued the rest of his form. Bolas trickled power through it, enhancing Megatron's attacks to leave fire in the wakes of the blades.
