Hope launched a barrage of fireballs at the nearest Hunter.

A Hunter took the bone spikes directly to the eye. It stumbled back and hooted, clear fluid pouring out from where they hit. However, the Hunters were durable enough that it would stop them. While the injured one recover, anothe lept in front of it to take its place, firing its flechettes.

"Synths... they all have something organic," Gordon said. "I don't recognize the little ones, but give it a shot."

With that, Gordon shouldered his RPG.

The Strider caught sigh of the missle heading for it and shot it clear out of the air, before being struck with the segment of the shield. It paused for a moment, as if surprised, then turned to fire on the source of the annoyance, distracted.

There were at least ten Striders and three Hunters for each.

The Hunter stabbed with the bone sword let out a shriek as it was pierced through. It fell back, screaming and spewing clear fluids.

The Hunter hit with the fireballs ignited, howled, and rounded on Hope, firing on him with the flechettes.

Gajeel and Natsu launched a barrage of napalm and railroad spikes from their respective bodies at the Striders and Hunters after taking cover.

Kimimaro leapt off of his kill and threw his bone-blade like a javelin at another Hunter's eye, while he generated two more blades and charged a few more Hunters, ready to carve through them in an elegant, lightning-speed dance of slicing/piercing destruction.

"Tsubaki no Mai!"

Rey nodded slightly, eyes going dark red, and he cupped his hands together, frowning, then leaned out just enough to fling a fast-summoned bolt of shadowstuff at the encroaching monsters, ducking back quickly before anything could get at him. "I just know the best tactics are usually hit and run...which I specialize at." He kept a hand up, readying to summon and throw.

-The Dullahan reaches the first approaching strider, planting its sword vertically in the catwalk.-

Begone.

Seeing one of the creatures pierced by the newcomer's spear, Jack was relieved. They could be cut. Which meant they could be killed. He let the volley of shots burst over what was left of his shield, then sliced off a segment at the base, kicked it forward ahead of him to soak up the initial shots, and charged into the fray, yelling a kiai. There was a pattern to group weapons fire, a subtle one, but one that made it easy enough to dodge once you recognized it. Heading for the nearest uninjured Hunter, he came in from below and leapt upwards, meaning to slice the body in half.

Hope dived out of the way of the flechettes; however one slashed across his back.

The napalm stuck fast and burned the Hunters who got hit. Many of the creatures scattered to get out of the way, to be hit with the railroad spikes. The spikes embedded themselves in the Hunters' outer shell, but stuck fast and did no further damage.

The Hunter saw the javelin coming and lept to the side, taking it in the flank. The creature stumbled, but stabilized itself and whirled to fire on its attacker.

Gotta go eat dinner, will continue when I get back.

Bowser started to blanket the enemies side of the field with fireballs while behind cover.

Red Mage had stepped through the portal earlier and said nothing, observing the environment. Yet another strange, alien place, and now they were being attacked by monsters.

"Well then, guess we'll try this." Red Mage aimed for the nearest group of enemies. "Blizzaga!" Huge, extremely cold Ice Shards fell upon the area.

Raz poked his heasd out of cover and fired three psiblasts at the nearest Hunter.

Kimimaro stabbed his left-hand blade hilt-deep into/through one Hunter's eye, and then yanked it out and used it to deflect the incoming shots. He flash-stepped over to directly behind the offending creature, and drove both blades straight down through the top of its head, the points jutting out through the bottom. He leapt to avoid a shot from a Strider (said shot blew the just-killed Hunter to bits) and briefly took cover. Either he would devise a way to kill the big ones, or his allies would accomplish that before he could - whichever came first.

Hey, that one has Merc- Blizzaga? What kind of name is that for an Ice Missile attack?

-Isaac's Djinn are ready, now for the difficult part.-

There was the sound of shattering glass as Sukuna-Hikona appeared in the air above everyone and faced the Strider. A purple orb of energy appeared above it and fired down a laser at it. Naoto ran up next to Gordon and asked "Do you have any idea what our objective might be?"

Rey winced, keeping his back to the cover, listening. "Oh God...this is a lot easier when there's a television screen between me and them..."

The Doctor starts doing what he always seems to do in these fights. Sonic screwdriver every enemy.

Kimimaro wrapped an explosive tag around a kunai and then threw the kunai at the closest Strider's eye.

The Hunter hit by Jack seemed briefly unphased... before falling cleanly in half, spewing clear fluids. The Strider hit by the laser staggered and moaned. The Hunters hit by the shadow stuff staggered but did not die.

Gordon fired a rocket at a Strider, which staggered under the shot and fired wildly, as the kunai wrapped in the explosive damaged another Srider.

"Objective, objective... wait... That's it!" Gordon's expression brightened. If this was what he thought it was... "We need to get to that building, the huge one. We're going to take out the Combine's reactor. We're going to bring this planet down."

Jack wasted no time, but immediately sped off at the Strider who had been hit by the explosion, coming in at its blind spot and going for one of the legs where it joined the body, hoping to topple into the one alongside.

The Strider raised its leg above Jack, the thick dark point above the samurai. The creature was preparing to stomp him.

Raz hopped out of cover and rolled next to Jack. He threw up a shield to protect the samurai.

Rey turned to look at Gordon somewhat incredulously. "We're going to take down the Combine planet? The ENTIRE Combine planet? Have I mentioned that you're completely insane??" He paused, considering, then shrugged. "Of course that's part of what I like about-," He frowned, then threw another shadow bolt towards the enemies again. "Ugh. I hope you have a plan."

'Reactor?' Kimimaro thought. 'As in nuclear fission reactor? I heard Amegakure was working on developing one, but... Or does he mean thermonuclear fusion? Could these Combine have actually harnessed the processes that fuel stars?'

In my Naruto-verse, technology outside of weapons and transportation is actually not that far behind our Earth's tech (messenger birds are more tradition than anything else). And there are people on another continent across the ocean from the shinobi continent who have no shinobi, and their tech is farther along than the shinobi continent's - around 1960s. Amegakure traded for the knowledge and some of the tech to try and build their first reactor. Also, said other continent's discovered knowledge on physics and astronomy, among other things, is practically as advanced as ours, and they've shared that knowledge with the shinobi continent.
