I've always loved the plot of it more than anything else, but yeah the jokes have been getting better.
"I could eat a knob at night" - Karl PilkingtonThe RLS thing came off as just plain stupid to me, rather than silly and funny.
Well, of course it's stupid. It's basically hilarity stemmed from an overreaction to something that isn't that big a deal, only Thea doesn't even realize it's not.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I see RLS as a euphemism for another STD, just like the "outbreak of eyebrows" that they were joking about stood in for Herpes, which aren't very funny. RLS is kind of funny, even if it is also a serious 'disease' (for lack of a better word). So I think what the author is saying is that all STDs are serious, but some of them aren't as serious as others. :)

Amateur cook Professional procrastinatorI was wondering when she'd bring back the kitty family, I think it'll be a good learning experience for Hazel

Biophilic bookworm by day, gentleman adventurer by night.Do so few people here follow this webcomic? It's my favourite daily/slice-of-life comic. The author isn't afraid to tackle issues like coming to terms with bisexuality in adulthood, her best friend's coming to terms with it, male bonding among men who don't try to be alpha-male types, getting tested for STDs, the story of a woman who wants desperately to be independent but still needs to rely on the people around her, etc.

Biophilic bookworm by day, gentleman adventurer by night.I've found it frustrating lately because the characters have been getting themselves into those kinds of situations either through stupidity or insecurity.
And yet I can't stop reading.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Girls With Slingshots is the one comic I never get bored of or frustrated with, oddly.
Biophilic bookworm by day, gentleman adventurer by night.Well... lately, it's been Hazel that frustrates me.
Reading all the strips she's had focus in, her personality's never developed beyond the immaturity of a college party girl. So far it's caused her to have to move back in with her mom, and it's causing friction in her relationship with Zach (and because of her immaturity she refuses to talk about it beyond what SHE expects in the short-term).
Seriously, when will she actually take the effort to change? Everyone else around her has been developing, so why does she remain a static constant?

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Really? I think she's maturing slowly and learning to get along with people better and be less abrasive. But I've always been very sympathetic towards main characters, so.
Biophilic bookworm by day, gentleman adventurer by night. That's just the development of general social interaction. There's still the problems with her base personality.
She doesn't have the capability to think or even want to consider the long-term, and it's been showing in the recent arcs. She doesn't want to take genuinely helpful life advice from her friends.
It's going to wreck what's left of her life sooner or later, unless she finally changes.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Sorry to doublepost, but speak of the devil!
For context, Zach called Hazel's mom to set up her meeting with his parents to try and smooth the whole sleeping-with-Hazel situation over and make her open to the idea.
This is going to implode now that Hazel's drunk. Only a matter of seeing how it's gonna happen. -_-
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Am I the only one who wonders when the subject of alcoholism or constant binge drinking screwing her life up is going to be addressed? It has crossed the line for me.
Well, it's not anytime soon considering how this week's storyline has been resolved. Honestly, at this point I'm heavily considering quitting the strip. -_-
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I always thought she was supposed to be representative of the modern 20 something generation of irresponsible aimless slacker types. I mean she is the primary character and while not a role model per say, clearly a realistic character.
Also I thought Wednesday's strip http://www.girlswithslingshots.com/comic/gws-1158/ was really cute. :)
What do you want Bronn? Gold? Women? Golden Women?I just brought this thread back from the dead to say AAAAAAH! I'M COVERED IN BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!
"I could eat a knob at night" - Karl PilkingtonYes. That is a hilarious panel. Also, Eddie Izzard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xs-tl6GBOBo

Really, is the library going to fire her once they find out about her "other job"? Show up at the Blue Moon, kick this loser in the balls, and walk away.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Personally, I think Clarice has finally found her Sub. This storyline...Gonna be awesome.
DoodlesDoesn't she have a sub? Several, actually, considering her job.
Oh, even better idea?
"You're Clarise's friend? From the library?" "Um, yeah......and you are?" "Bad news, she's not coming. Worse news.......my name's Candy. *evil grin*"
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117I endorse this suggestion. Candy would hurt the guy worse—and not necessarily in a purely physical way—than a Groin Attack from Clarice would.
No, remember a few storylines back. Clarice blurted out that she wanted a long-term relationship but couldn't find the right guy.
Doodles
So just curious, any other readers of this webcomic think that it's had a distinct uptick in quality lately? It's gone from a cute but repetitive comic filled with vibrator jokes to one of my favorites thanks to some cool exploration of the nuances of sexuality.
