Rai was with Harima, waiting. In his mind, a dark thought wriggled its way through his brain.    Dracula did nothing wrong, he just tried to strengthen his borders... and yet the heroes are out to kill him already... is it really in your best interest to help them?

Rai thought about it a bit more. That is...

Do you remember what humans did to you? How they attempted to murder you daily...

They had a right to be afraid... the Nobles had accidentally created the Vampires...

But the Nobles themselves aren't at fault, the Vampires ran amok and abused their powers, not the Nobles... they shall attempt to blame those who don't fit their visions...

Rai remembered all the horrible things. ... He felt divided. The influence of the Kishin had reached Rai himself, and only time shall tell of what it hath wrought.

Fate soon came out of her Sonic Move state, reappearing near Wreck-Gar and landing beside his passenger side door. When she opened the door, however, she saw Pyrrhus somehow gain more wounds than before.

"We need to get him inside!" she said to the Engineer, taking one of the general's arms and helping him out of Wreck-Gar's cab.

Engineer shook Pyrrhus. "Come on, darnit, snap out of it!" Engineer yelled at him. He quickly got out of the cab and yelled at the front door. "Hey! TGS boys we've got someone hurt really bad! Get out here and help already!" Engineer yelled, climbing up to the back and detaching one of the dispensers, folding it up into toolbox mode and hopping back down with it on his shoulder.

Several SRF operators secured the driveway and the entrance, covering Wreck-Gar and the Engineer with their Heckler and Koch G36K assault rifles while a stretcher was rolled out of the main entrance.

"Over here! We've got the clinic ready for him!"

"Where is everyone? Since I'm teaming up with them, I can't stay lone wolf forever."

Spriggan went from concrete pillar to concrete pillar, using it to hide his tracks in order to prevent any of Dracula's minions from attacking him.

Muffled screams, pleas for mercy...

It's hot...It's hot in here...

Something is bubbling all around her. It sticks like tar, eating away at her skin, while simultaneously dragging her downward.

Why is it so hot...? What's going on...!?

Stomach acid and putrid flesh...the rotten odor assaults her from all directions. She cannot escape it as her bones turn to mush.

Help me...! Please!! I can't...

She tries to suck in air as her head is pulled under, earning her a throat full of burning mud. She vomits it back in her own face as she hears the sizzling her her hair being dissolved.

No...No...Don't...Don't eat me...!!

She is pleading in her head right now, though she knows it is fruitless. Her vision becomes blurry as her eyelids are eaten away, then leaving the sockets empty. She could not even speak if she were to be rescued, now that her tongue had turned to pink and black paste.

The mud is inside her cranium now. She forgets things...like faces, and how to pronounce her own name. She thinks she can hear the cry of an infant's birth.

"No!! Please, don't eat me!!"

Sakura screamed, jolting upright in bed, her pajamas drenched in sweat. Her terrified eyes darted around the room, searching for any sign of the black tar. Finding nothing, Sakura hugged her knees against her chest, resting her head atop them as she trembled from both fear and the cold dampness around her whole body.

In all her years of terrible nightmares, she'd never had that one before...

Fate helped heft Pyrrhus onto the stretcher, watching under the downpour as the TGS soldiers carted the general into the building for medical treatment. She then turned to the Engineer and Wreck-Gar. "I'm going to Pyrrhus' soldiers first and tell them that he'll be alright. They shouldn't have to worry about their leader..."

Suddenly there was a jerk in the landscape around Pyrrhus. It was as if the means of sustaing the detached dimension itself was being torn apart at the seams.

"What? What is happening?"

It was perhaps the first time Pyrrhus saw the infamous Kassandros making a surprised expression. Below him, the ground was trembling. Multiple flashes ripped through the air as though the very fabrics of reality itself was being torn apart.

"Ba... Basileus!" he heard a Makedonian soldier exclaim. "We... we are being cut off!"

"What?" Kassandros exclaimed. "What is cutting us off?"

What Pyrrhus saw was akin to being stuck in a collapsing temple - chunks and bits from the background, no of reality itself, fell out from their places and began to descend upon soldiers and commanders alike as the ground quaked.

"The city itself... The city itself cannot sustain us!" the soldier cried out as though in despair, before being silenced as a chunk of collapsed reality fell on his head and crushed it in.

"What? How?" Kassandros still could not bring himself to the situation.

As the chunks of reality collapsed, the background then shifted... to accompany the terrifying image of a girl being eaten alive by a sentient pool of mud. A girl as lonely as Pyrrhus was, surrounded by the insurmountable force of nature, being eaten alive. Horrible and extremely unsettling as it looked, could it be her very existence in the same plain of alternate reality as he was the reason why this is happening?

"Is this all a dream?" Pyrrhus told himself. But unless there was sufficient proof, there was no way for him to dispell this horrible nightmare, if it indeed was one.

"I'm taking this thing up to help the doctors with it. Something's happening to Pyrrhus, he shouldn't be getting more injured" Engineer said, thinking about how his wounds had healed up before he suddenly acquired more.

"Still, best not to let them worry, you go" Engineer told Fate, before following after the SRF operators carrying Pyrrhus, dispenser still on his shoulder.

Fate was about to leave for the structure behind the TGS building, when she stopped and glanced back at the TGS building's double doors where Pyrrhus had been carted off to. "......I should stay by his side for now," she said to the Engineer, her expression serious. "It would be better if I brought his soldiers definite good news afterward, rather than an unsure one..."

She bowed politely to the Engineer and Wreck-Gar, before running into the TGS building, her wet cloak dripping water as she ran down the hall inside.

Shirou and the others soon came upon a large, cavernous area in the tunnels. Off to one side of the cavern was a rather out-of-place object: a large, circular mirror, mounted into the rocky wall. At the opposite end of the opening lay another tunnel - a tunnel leading to the sewer system of Castlevania.

Suddenly, a stone slab slammed down behind Shirou and Subaru, cutting them off from Braig and Crona. Another stone slab slammed down at the tunnel at the far end, cutting that path off as well. Both stone slabs began to glow a deep purple, magic circles with a reversed pentagram appearing on both, preventing either from using magical means to escape...

"This way, sir."

The medical team brought Pyrrhus to the private elevator, escorted by three G36K-armed SRF operators with the Engineer.

One of the SRF operators got out his white keycard and inserted it to open the elevator doors before and after he got inside, pushing the button to the fifth floor.

Dammit! Can't I get a map of this place?

Spriggan stealthy moved down the hallway after he arrived, aiming the AK-9 only after taking cover behind a concrete pillar.

Shirou spun around as the door behind them slammed shut. He expected Braig to teleport in any moment, but he never came. Either he was looking after Crona, or something about the glow on the door was preventing him from entering the room.

"Careful, Subaru...Something could attack at any time." he muttered, feeling rather foolish for reminding an experienced combatant of such an obvious fact. He noticed the mirror, staring at it quizzically. "Wonder why that's there...?" he said, still glancing around the room cautiously.

"Wha-!" Subaru jumped and whipped around as the slab slammed down behind her. The second slabfollowed suit, and Subaru raised Revolver knuckle, spinning up its gears.

"Look out, Shirou, I'm gonna blast our way out!

"Alert! Powerful sealing spell detected! Attack is inadvised!"

"Huh?"

Subaru lowered her weapon as the unfamiliar magic circles came to life.

"Well, now what?" she asked, uncertain, her eyes also turning to the only other object in the room - the mirror.

By now the alternate reality had almost entirely collapsed, leaving whoever was not crushed to death in the cascade of shattered fabric of time-space in a vacuum of sort. In the background was the graphic description of the girl's ignoble and nauseating demise. Pyrrhus had seen far worse in his life, but the sight of such graphic death magnified all over the background was enough to make his stomach turn.

And it was repeating itself, over and over and over again. There was only that many times a man's stomach could stand being exposed to such satanic violation of the human body before turning into water.

His opponent didn't pay the scenario all that much attention. He was now standing opposite of Pyrrhus, seemingly ignorant of the madness around him... or rather, himself driven mad by it.

"Blood... guts... so much of it... Aha, ahaha, ahahaha, ahahahaha..."

Then he turned to Pyrrhus, on his face flashed an especially creepy smile.

"Runt of Aiakides, what a pleasure it is to end your life here amid this... wonderful creation of the gods!"

Pyrrhus was still wounded, despite the collapsed reality, and unarmed, while his opponent had everything in his disposal...

And they are both alone like Kassandros claimed. Alone with neither friends nor subordinate nor relatives, for it went without saying that the one who did have someone by his side would triumph in this face off...

Not seeing anything else of note in the room, Shirou began to walk toward the large mirror, though he still searched the shadows for danger. "Why do you think this is here...?" he asked Subaru, standing in front of it.

As the duo looked around, the mirror began to glow brightly, bathing the area in light for several moments. When it cleared, a figure was standing in front of it. But not just any figure..... it was Shirou.

'Shirou' held his hands out, and the familiar blades Kanshou and Bakuya materialized in his hands, though both were slightly darker than the real ones. He fell into a combat stance, his expression holding a slight grin.

"Trace: On!"

Shirou leaped backwards, his own pair of blades appearing in time to parry the Doppelganger's slashes. While he was certain he'd be able to eventually overpower his double, the Magus found himself thrown off-balance by the slippery stones under his feet. He was forced to adopt a lower stance as he caught himself, now fighting to get his rhythm back as the monster continued to attack him.

Subaru started forward, desperately wanting to lunge inand blast the doppleganger away from Shirou, but she wasn't sure she could get it cleanly with the real Shirou so close.

Instead, she stopped short of the melee and gestured with Revolver Knuckle.

"Ring Bind!"

Blue rings of light appeared around the doppleganger's ankles and wrists and tightened, attempting to immobilise it.

"I'm waiting......" Larfleeze said.

Unknown to either Larfleeze or Sayd, Raider clutched a loose cobblestone....

"Yeah, I got mah answer fer ya," Raider said.

"Y Yyyyyyyeeeeeeeesss........"

.............................

A beat.

"Screw you." Raider tossed the cobblestone right into Larfleeze's eyes, the rock exploding into stinging mist.

"MY EYES!!" Larfleeze screamed on in pain. So intense pain he was forced to drop the Central Power Battery.

Raider charged forth, grabbed it and shoved his fist into the lamp.....

Larfleeze recovered - "No NO NO THAT IS MINE, YOU CANNOT HAVE IT!!" He lunged for the lantern as well, tackling Raider and trying to pulled the lantern away from the Outlaw. For a tense minute the two of them tackled each other, trying to take possession of the lantern each and punching, kicking, and shoving one another. Sayd could only watch helplessly, fearing that joining in the brawl would have her exposed to the Orange Light by accident.

Finally Larfleeze shoves his ring hand into the Lantern as well - *BOOM*

A bright explosion of Orange Light. The resulting shockwave blasts both Orange Light wielders several feet from each, sliding on the ground......

..........................

A beat.

Raider is the first to awaken.....

Power Level at 5000% his ring said.

Larfleeze, with the Central Power Battery still in hand got up as well...and saw Raider, already fully healed.....

"I'll be comin' fer you later, La Freeze!" Raider said. He flew off to another part of the city, gone from view.....

"DAMMIT!!" Larfleeze roared. He punched a small crater into the street. The suddenly loss of energy along with the brawl he just been in left him too tired to pursue. Sayd helped her charge up. "I'm feeling hungry," he said. "I demand a feast...."

The two wondered off into the city, hoping to find a restaurant to eat at....

Fate rode an elevator and reached the fifth floor as well, heading down the hall to find Pyrrhus being carted into the emergency room. She tried to follow, but one of the TGS doctors stopped her. "Sorry, but you shouldn't go in there."

"I should be by his side when he wakes up," Fate replied sternly. "He trusts me the most..."

The doctor, though impressed by the young mage's determination, merely shook his head. "We'll take it from here, little miss; please, just wait out here."

Fate hesitated for a moment, before finally nodding quietly. The doctor pat her on the shoulders and left through the emergency room's double doors, leaving the worried Fate standing in the middle of the hallway.

Interestingly enough, 'Shirou' had no trouble keeping his balance on the slippery stone floor. When he caught sight of the rings of light contracting on his limbs, he leaped away from Shirou and they missed by mere centimeters. He then threw 'Bakuya' at Subaru with incredible force, then landed on the ground and darted at Shirou once more, intending to strike the trace user with Kanshou.

Shirou saw the alabaster blade spinning toward Subaru, its speed augmented by its magical nature, just as his were. He knew enough about these blades to surmised what would happen if he were careless here. As long as he's holding one of the swords, the other will always return to him.

Using the slippery floor to propel him, Shirou turned on his heel, attempting to knock 'Kanshou' off-coarse while spinning to strike with his second blade. A risky maneuver, to be sure, but he hoped it would catch the creature off-guard.

A blue magic shield sprang into being in front of Subaru, intercepting Bakuya just in time. Still, the force from the throw sending cracks running through the barrier. Pyrrhus could barely dive-roll to the side to avoid his opponent's lunge. It was difficult to maneuver with wounds on his major limbs, but he somehow managed it. A survival instinct?

"Come here and meet your doom, runt of Aiakides!"

The maddened cry from Kassandros came at about the same time as the painful, gut-wrenching death cry of the girl on the background - again to form a sort of orchestral noise from hell.

"Why are you running away, Pyrrhos Aiakides?" he taunted. In the background, the girl was still screaming.

"You are alone. Alone. Alone. Alone and afraid. Afraid. Very afraid," Kassandros let out another string of laughter.

"Alone?"

"Even if you try to adopt a kid from elsewhere," gloated Kassandros as he lunged again at him, "it wouldn't work. Stop deluding yourself - had that little harlot ever called you Father?"

Pyrrhus barely avoided his death by another dive roll. It was obvious, though, that his reaction rate had dropped dramatically after hearing those words. His face slowly froze to an expression of sorrow as he realized his foe was not exactly lying. Maybe he was right after all...
