Looks like the timing for me posting that Diego shoutout was almost perfect. 
I am probably in the minority but I liked Diego better than Dio. At least in terms of development and complexity, but that is probably due to Araki improving his writing.

Anyway, by X I meant X1999. I don't know if it's actually bad or not since I just kinda hate the series in general, but I didn't enjoy the anime.

That's because people don't understand that an animation company can work on more than one franchise. Sega gives David money, make Neptunia, Capcom gives 'em money, make Monster Hunter.
They know people want Jojo, but unlike the gaming anime, Jojo relies on the money of the franchise's merch. We buy the merch, they have the money to animate.
