re:Sora's clones and shipping: I'm cool with Roxas/Xion, but not Roxas/Namine, because it comes right the hell out of nowhere ever since Days became a thing. The only way it makes any sense to me is if Namine is consciously using Roxas as a Replacement Goldfish for Sora, and probably if Roxas is unconsciously using her as a Replacement Goldfish for Xion.

Yes, it would. Which is part of why I prefer Roxas/Xion and Kairi/Sora/Namine.

Days mildly sold me on Riku/Namine.

I like Sora/Kairi/Riku.

I reblogged that post yesterday, and the first point made me realize how badly I want Minnie as an actual party member, nuking everything with Holy. Kairi and Minnie for KHIII teamup~

x3 I'm open to Riku/Namine. Mostly because they spent a whole year working together, so there was plenty of time for them to interact.

Funny how Minnie hardly gets any screentime, but a good chunk of what she does get establishes her as being pretty awesome. And yes, Kairi and Minnie teaming up would be cool.

And that's pretty much the only thing SE can do with the Disney characters. Since they aren't allowed to cross the different worlds(apart from with King Mickey, Donald and Goofy) most of the Disney characters gets some awesome scenes in their own world and then do nothing more. This was probably the reason they came up with OXIII, a way to have characters appear in multiple worlds.

I'm not sure I buy that that's actually true. Despite originating in Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent is allowed to show up in Olympus Coliseum, Agrabah, Neverland, and Halloween Town off the top of my head. And since Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Pete are allowed to go to different worlds, I doubt Disney would forbid Minnie from doing so if Nomura actually cared to have her do that.

The "rules" were apparently put into place after KH 1 but I have no idea. It's not like we've seen official documents describing them. We just know that Disney decides what characters SE can use and what the characters are allowed to do and everything concerning a Disney character has to be talked about with them first.

The "rules" that ban more explicit crossovers are actually just a big Fanon invention.

I think this might have been hinted at before, but still...

...something to keep an eye out for.

I wonder if they'll still include the "Birth by Sleep Volume 2" movie, now that it's been cancelled.

BBS 1 wrapped up everything, though. So unless vol. 2 was another prequel, possibly starring Eraqus and Master Xehanort from when they were still buds, I can't fathom what it might've been bout.

IIRC, the original trailer for Birth By Sleep 2 made it seem like it was going to be about Aqua (still in the Realm of Darkness) exploring the worlds that have fallen into darkness thanks to the events of Birth By Sleep, as well as following her time in the realm up to the point where she encounters Ansem (as seen in the secret movie of BBS FM). I don't know if there was to be anything more to it than that.

From what I've heard, it was canned because Disney and/or Square-Enix was tired of seeing the series ported to every handheld console (BBS 2 was supposed to be on the Vita). As such, DDD was to be the last handheld title released before III.

That does seem like it makes the most sense, although the trailer was kind of baffling in that it also included Riku in Neverland mid-KHI, Riku watching Roxas and Xion in Twilight Town, and Kairi at the Old Manor in Twilight Town, presumably mid-KHII. So who knows.

That said, it's still possible for them to reveal what was supposed to happen in Vol 2 by taking the concept and just making it a standalone "movie". Knowing Nomura, I doubt he'd just scrapped the entire plot of the game, and would probably just throw in references to it (if not reveal the plot in whole) in some other fashion later.

I haven't seen the trailer in years, so I forgot about those. Maybe the game would've also filled in the blanks for what the characters were doing during random bits of the overarching plot. I had heard some of the new scenes unique to 1.5 Remix were supposedly based on scenes meant for Vol. 2, after all.

I thought there were. I could be mistaking them for the scenes added to the original Final Mix though.
