They really stretched the phrase "All new Disney Worlds" as far as they could for 3D [lol]

Honestly, all they needed to do to make the Hunchback world even marginally better was have Frollo as a boss fight. It's utterly baffling why they decided to go with Generic Dream Eater Boss instead (probably the same logic that made them go "oh yeah, that Chernabog guy that everyone likes? Let's make him a dive boss!").

I like KH3D well enough, but the only Disney world I really enjoy in the game is Symphony of Sorcery, because the story's pretty minimal and it's mostly just running around in cool environments with some nice classical music in the background.

I also liked Prankster's Paradise...well, not the story, but yeah. The Grid was rather annoying to navigate and Country of the Musketeers is pretty boring, though.

Hm. Aside from how the Disney worlds were utilized (other than the Fantasia world), I loved 3D.

The only way they'd use Frollo as a boss was if he was powered by the Heartless or something like Scar was, but since he really doesn't have any true combat experience (unlike Clayton, who at least fights alongside his summoned Heartless), being artificially powered up would be the only way for him to fight characters like our heroes on an even level.

IIRC, he did seem to summon his Dream Eater to fight you at least. I know it's not the same, but most of the Dream Eater bosses seemed to come from nowhere (other than the Mantis, which I think was being used by Clu the whole time).

It'd be easy enough, I mean just have him hopped up on darkness and throwing Hellfire at you while he rants about sending you heathen gypsies to the pyre by righteous damnation. I never really thought of Kingdom Hearts being to power-levelly anyway, as long as he can swing a sword and get hopped up on darkness he can be a threat in my book [lol]

[up][up]He could have had "holy" attacks, and as you keep beating him he eventually starts using dark and fire attacks, and it could end with a reaction command that involves his death scene from the movie.

I guess that could work. Captain Hook is one the hardest Disney bosses in the series and he use a sword and presents.

Come to think of it, Country of the Musketeers posed a lot of questions. Like where Donald, Goofy, Pete, and Minnie are really from. And how, assuming some of them aren't naturally from Disney Town, how they managed to get there. [lol]

Kingdom Hearts 3D has the worst enemy design, in my opinion.

The Heartless shaped themselves to whatever world they appeared in. The Nobodies were based on Final Fantasy classes. I can't speak for the Unversed, but from what I've seen of the bosses, they were much like the Heartless.

3D is just like "Here's an elephant in Paris. wat do?".

Disney Town and Musketeers could be the same place. The worlds are bigger than we see or Kairi couldn't have a school to go to and Deep Jungle couldn't have an England.

So, Neverland, Deep Jungle, and (presumably) Wonderland all have an England.

How's that work?

I choose to think of them as all alternate versions of England that the characters of that world come from.

This is how I explain it. All worlds from movies where, for example, all inhabitants are anthros, (Disney Town, Country of the Musketeers, and since we have Chicken Little, Oakey Oaks) exist on the same planet, which could be considered an alternate earth. Since through a small stretch of the imagination they could happen at the same time period, Deep Jungle's england is the same england as Neverland's and Wonderland's, it's just another earth that's in the 19th century. I also think that any worlds that might take place on modern earth could all be on the same alternate earth, and Destiny Islands could possibly be there as well. The more magic places where the Disney Princesses come from could all be on their own alternate earth as well. Places like Neverland are just magic floating islands like on the world select screen.

Also, so a Star Wars world could work and Deep Space can make sense, each alternate earth would have their own galaxies.

Dammit, I really wish that were canon. I feel like this game has such potential for a cool expanded universe...

[down]Yeah, that's what I mean.

I always considered it in my head that, when Jane and the Professor left England for Africa or Alice landed in Woderland, they somehow traveled worlds rather than each living in separate Londons?

I'm a critical person but I'm a nice guy when you get to know me. Now, I should be writing.

I think I'm going to go in completely the opposite direction from Darth Taco and posit that the worlds are all alternate universe versions of each other. Alice, Wendy, and Jane all come from different Englands because all the worlds have an England, if only in the geographic sense. Some worlds have more technology, some have more magic. In some humans are the dominant species, in others a plethora of bipedal and be-fingered species fill that niche, in still others hands and upright stance were not found to be a necessary part of that process. Some even have unearthly pocket realms (where Sora tends to spend all his time) such as Halloween Town or Olympus attached, but almost* all of them have an associated Earth.

This is why Sora can use pixie dust to fly between Neverland and London, but needs a Gummi Ship to go from England to Africa, and for that matter why he can't use pixie dust to fly in Africa. When the Gummi ship travels from Neverland-Earth to Deep-Jungle-Earth, its passengers arrive in a dimension where pixie dust no longer functions. There are, however, some constants across the dimensions. The Santa of Sora's home dimension is evidently the same as the one from the dimension with the trees leading to the holiday towns, and Hades is able to access Auron's soul. And as a line that popped up somewhere in the games states, there are many worlds, but they share the same sky**. The same sky because they are all situated in the same place relative to every other star in the galaxy**, because all of them are Earth.

I...think I just argued myself away from my original suggestion that Musketeers and Disney were part of the same place. Oh well. This was a fun bit of theorycrafting.

*Exceptions being Traverse Town, End of the World, and World that Never Was. Those are the fault of Heartless and Nobody shenanigans. Also, Monstro was apparently swimming through the pseudo-space between dimensions, which is impressive as fuck and ought to be acknowledged.

**Not entirely sure what this means for the gods putting our heroes' picture in the stars. Did that affect all the worlds? Was it an illusionary change wherein no actual stars were moved? I'm inclined towards the latter, as requiring considerably less power on the part of the gods of Olympus.

[up]Wonderland (and Neverland, for that matter) being in a different world than England a lot easier than I can buy it for Africa.

[up][up]Chickenn Little world being the same world as all of the other anthros' haunts is something I find questionable, given the differences between the hand-drawn-based art style of Mickey and the CG one of Chicken Little.

They had no personality, just take a random animal and have a piñata explode over them.
Eh, I wouldn't say that they have no personality, particularly since you were able to actually interact with them. That aspect about them makes me appreciate them on a different level than the other Heartless variants, although I've liked all except the Unversed. Even ignoring the interactivity, they were on par with the others, in my opinion (the Nobodies are still my favorite enemies in the series though).

The fact that they were a bit tougher than usual also helped.

The Heartless shaped themselves to whatever world they appeared in. The Nobodies were based on Final Fantasy classes. I can't speak for the Unversed, but from what I've seen of the bosses, they were much like the Heartless.

3D is just like "Here's an elephant in Paris. wat do?".

Regarding the Unversed, the generics never changed, but the bosses were usually based on the world (such as the pumpkin coach Unversed being the boss of Cinderella's world). They actually share some qualities with the Dream Eaters in that regard (though since the Dream Eaters were based around animals, they were more limited in what they could be). They basically felt like lazier versions of the Heartless to me, although some of them had some cool designs.

I think their main unique quality was turning completely black (except for their eyes) and entering a rage mode for a certain period of time.

As for the Dream Eaters, it seems like the designers were trying to emulate The World Ends with You's Noise, except of instead of invoking something familiar (animals and tattoos) and turning it into something you'd immediately associate with danger, they took something familiar and tried to make it whimsical to enhance the whole "dream" motif (hence the Spirits' more vibrant colors, oddball designs, and such). It's a bit similar to the Nobodies being based on Final Fantasy jobs, but much less direct about it.

And the whole placement thing didn't really bother me (mostly because you're in a dream world fighting dream creatures). Some of the creatures were selected specifically for the worlds they showed up in, others weren't.note  The Unversed had the same problem.

I hope there are some Heartless based on Noise in III.

Heck, Shibuya would make a great world. Much like Princess and the Frog, you don't have to change much at all. Just sub Heartless for Noise, and remember that yellow eyes are more dangerous a sign than red eyes.

...come to think of it, wouldn't Kitaniji fit in pretty well with the Organizaiton?
