Well, I do think the Link Attacks/Styles are the best-designed Limit Break-mechanic in the series, although I can't say I care for the Ability Link boards at all. I don't really want to see the Dream Eaters show up again, but I don't personally consider them to be a major problem in 3D.
I think a good way to handle things would be to just have support abilities gained through level-ups like in KHI and II, while having commands just obtained from chests or shops, or as rewards. They could also bring back command melding, but they should make it so you can always see what the commands combine into.

Welcome to th:|I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who dislikes the Dream Eaters as a mechanic.
I didn't mind them in the context of the game, but if we never see them again I'll be fine with that.
Question: I know that Final Fantasy's yaoi fanbase came from Cloud and Sephiroth's good looks and their whole "scorned ex-boyfriend" dynamic, but why were they the only people to latch onto Kingdom Hearts?
I don't understand the question?
I have a message from another time...Kingdom Hearts has a very large number of attractive men.
I once said to a friend, "Whenever a series has a large number of attractive people of the same gender, there WILL be Yaoi/Yuri."
The fact that this thing seems to run on The Power Of Platonic Life-Partners makes it even easier.
Also, your question can be read as "Only Yaoi Fangirls like KH", which is certainly not true.

The question is more "Why are the only Final Fantasy fans that like Kingdom Hearts the yaoi fangirls?"
Which is also not true.
FFN could really do with some quality control. More PWP than you can shake a stick at.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.The abundance of PWP on FF.N is kind of funny, because technically you're not allowed to have straight porn fics there, but obviously that rule isn't enforced very well.
I generally go to AO3 (Archive of Our Own) for fanfic these days because it's (generally better quality). Haven't really investigated the KH section in great detail, though, so I'm sure there's the same ratio of crap vs. good that you would expect from the KH fandom, just on a much smaller scale.
(...and I just checked the KH tag on AO3 and the first fic is an AkuRoku sex slave fic. orz)
someday we will foresee obstaclesWhen was the first sentence ever a rule?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yeah, seen that one.
AO3 has a higher percentage of good fanfics than Fanfiction.net, but instead of sorting out the bad fics, I find myself sorting out the porn instead. It's kinda of a tradeoff.

Re: the no porn rule: there's a note in the Rules and Guidelines that "FanFiction.net does not accept explicit content." Like I said, it's not really enforced at all, because I think if it was, the site would lose so many writers and a lot of its traffic.
someday we will foresee obstaclesHuh. So it does. While we're on that subject, I love how under their definition of the Fiction: M rating, they have "references to some violence" which is a step down from Fiction: T's "some violence."
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! Can't say I mind smut stories as long as they're well written. There's just an overabundance of mediocre-at-best to really, really bad ones written by teenage fangirls who don't realize sex doesn't work that way. A disturbingly common story progression is Person A professes love to Person B who admits they've felt the same the whole time so let's get straight to the sexy time. Yaoi or no yaoi, can ya at least have dinner first? :p
What you're looking for is well written relationships. From what I've seen, well written smut is almost an oxymoron.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Well, I opened quite the can of worms. Wasn't AO 3 meant to be a classier version of FFN? I've been looking through Final Fantasy XII fics and it's either drabbles, Vaan/Balthier or the occasional good read. I've been reading Moments in Another Time; it focuses on Vayne and Cid and is a well written alternate plot. Any XII fans should give it a read.
The KH section worse than in FFN because the good fics just aren't there.

Life is more fun with infinite MP.Definitely agree with this. Smut can definitely be done well, and I've read plenty of fics with really well-done sexual content. It's just finding them is like searching for a needle in a haystack, especially in a fandom like KH.
(I also avoid smut fics for KH in general because I don't like to think of most of the characters in a sexual context. :p)
someday we will foresee obstaclesI was looking for Kingdom Hearts content online once and came across an M-Rated Sora/Donald/Goofy slashfic.
my eyes
my poor eyes
I'm allergic to fanfic.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I've written and read a few but I never just randomly search for them anymore. Almost every single one that I've read lately is from one of our Fan Fic Recs pages.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Same here. With a moderate case of lazyitis.
Fan blogs like the now-defunct Ask Master Aqua and Blindfolds Were So Last Season manage to retain a reasonable amount of the original characterisation, however.
...
Same here. Shame really.
