The whole AI having a gender thing seems off anyway. Why would they identify with a biological identity? I know there's an element of Author Appeal and trying to make them recognisable (How do you make something that will be so alien as AI friendly in these sorts of settings?)
Because a lot of the work the A.I.s do is to make HUMANS feel more comfortable around them. Well, that's my take on it.
Adapting to humans' social norms, yes.
We also do not see in-depth exploration of how much actual stock they put in the gender identity. When an AI is in an inhuman body (i.e. submarine), they may just pick a pronoun at random to be referred to with, and then keep it should they move out into a humanoid body - but there may not necessarily be anything stopping them from changing it at any point.
I said it was challenging, not far away. So is aviation.
H.B. WardAs regards robots and gender, I seem to remember something in a Pintsize arc where it was implied to be something that they switched back and forth on a whim.
I feel like May has snickety snooks for the wrong reasons tho

Gender is something we built on top of sex but has little to do with it anymore. AI that has been socialized with humans could very well develop a self-identity that includes gender. The earlier ones specially meant to be partnered with humans could well have been programmed in such a way as to encourage a gender preference much like we grow up with our genders assigned at birth.
Fresh-eyed movie blogWinston identifies with a gender. "Humanoid, please! And I think I'm a boy."
Actually his reaction to his new body gave me a "trans allegory" vibe, though that may not have been the intention. It reminded me of a moment from We Know the Devil.

Joke? Why are you calling it a joke? You drew a picture of two dudes hugging and wrote "I love hugs!" on it.I'm one of the apparently rare people who genuinely likes pigeons, but from what I hear, they are awfully easy to catch...

There are some debates over the cleanliness of pigeon meat. As urban scavengers, you run into a lot of the same issues as with eating city squirrels.
Pigeon meat is considered a delicacy where I am from, I used to eat it fairly often. Usually in the form of delicious pigeon pie.
Granted, those pigeons weren't wild and were raised on-site in a large cage (coop?) and fed grain. I wouldn't eat a city pigeon anymore than I'd eat a fish that was caught in a city canal.
Just need to make sure it's thoroughly cooked.
For street pigeons and canal fish, "cooked enough to be safe" means there's no meat left.

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Remind me, how does Bubbles sustain herself? Plug into the wall socket?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I believe so, yes.
I'm missing something here. What is with the look Bubbles is giving? Also why would Dora be nervous about saying what she ate while starting to run a business? Did she live with her parents while trying to make it and realized neither of them could? Or is it cause she is embarrassed about something?
Bubbles is trying to make Faye assign sufficient budget for food rather than live from scraps. The implication is that Dora also lived from scraps while starting up, so her admittance to that would run counter to that goal.
I took it as "Dora trying to make the 'living off the grounds' pun, Bubbles doesn't like it."
Just a person. He/him.I believe @Adannor has got the right of it.
Dora probably ate badly and worked long hours while trying to get the coffee shop off the ground.
But as saying that would defeat the purpose of Bubbles bringing Faye there to talk to Dora, she switches her story.
Interestingly enough, I am in the process of updating my monthly budget and I also realize that I am vastly underestimating how much I spend on food in a given month. It can be a though thing to balance.
Granted, I hadn't budgeted "0$" as Faye seems to have.

I mean that we are already on track with that so all they need is to just put a soft plastic cover on it and that'll be already pretty close. No "metal baseballs".
