The only real "undead" in HP are the vampires; no word on if Inferi are vulnerable to silver.
But aside from that, generally approved. It may take a moment for me to drop you into the world, though.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three. Is my character allowed a sidearm pistol, or is my character too versatile/op with the rifle-wand combo?
With blood and rage of crimson red ripped from a corpse so freshly dead together with our hellish hate we'll burn you all that is your fateMan, all I got was a sidearm....
(It doesn't really matter now, but a field jacket ≠ flak jacket. The two contemporary US models are the M52 and M69; the British forces have the M52 fragmentation vest)

Let God do His work, we will see to ours. Bring in the candles.Kay I'm adding a revolver on my character with similar specs to my character (blessed to handle thick hides of monsters and shield magicks)
With blood and rage of crimson red ripped from a corpse so freshly dead together with our hellish hate we'll burn you all that is your fateHow does a blessing cancel out a shield spell?
"Your mission is not to nuke the squid god." —FaramirQuestion seconded. I didn't think religious artifacts(?) (holy water, blessed/sanctified items) had an effect on Potterverse magics.

Let God do His work, we will see to ours. Bring in the candles. How is a sniper rifle supposed to go through physical and magical armor? If we're operation under the assumption that religious blessings/artifacts have an effect on magic, I can buy that. But going through armor? 7.62mm/.308 has it's limits.
That's what .338 is for. Or .50.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Yeah, but he's using a Remington 700
What kind of armor are we talking?
"Your mission is not to nuke the squid god." —FaramirNo clue, I'm hoping he'll clarify.
If it's more flak vests, yeah, 7.62'll go through that.
Let God do His work, we will see to ours. Bring in the candles.I was thinking Level III body armor; that was my wtf?! moment.
You need at least IIIA to stop 7.62, don't you?
"Yup. That tasted purple."Type III is rated for rifles, Type IV is for AP rounds.
I think we hijacked the interest thread; time to migrate.

Indeed.
"Yup. That tasted purple."OK, to get that out of the way...
I'm sure there's a dispel enchant out there that can be applied to a physical object, like how the Weasley twins enchanted clothes with the protego spell. I was just thinking there's some kind of spell that could enchant the said firearm to punch thru say a protego spell or alternately thru the hide of a big-game beast. I did state earlier that when he fights against wizards he melts down sickles for silver rounds. It just seemed natural.
But, if you guys are being sticklers, I could change the rifle to a M107 chambered in .50. Of course, he might need a spotter. What say the DM? Can I keep the enchanted Remington 700 or for the purposes of the setting go for a more powerful rifle?
@Kino: for body armor: Hector would be using standard-issue Interceptor body armor, and I'd assume the muggle soldiers use the same armor. Yeah, I might want to change up to a .50 rifle.

World Domination is such an ugly phrase; I prefer World OptimizationWell, apart from being horribly unworkable, the AA-12, although in trials with the USMC, has not been fielded by an army yet.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Says the person who seriously considered using one.
Also, good luck keeping an AA-12 in the UK without taking a bullet from an AFO or otherwise spending a looong time in prison.

"Yup. That tasted purple."Whatever; am I expected to know everything, Just call it a Spec-Ops training or a Conviently "borrowed" (stolen) weapon
World Domination is such an ugly phrase; I prefer World Optimization
Okay, I'm changing my character's specs.
So he's essentially a magic marksman.
