Florence discussing her ideas for the park.◊ No chicken was involved, however.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpI call shenanigans on the idea that the Leeroy Jenkins meme would survive hundreds of years into our future.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"As well as Facebook, Twitter and all those current-day references that are scattered throughout the comic.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.I generally go with a variety of Translation Convention involving stories like this. I mean, it's also extremely unlikely that they would speak English the same way we do.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Maybe memes are like different fashions. They come around again and again...
(Annoyed grunt)Also, today's meme is tomorrow's culture. You never know what will stick - William Shakespeare was just trying to get paid, after all.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. There's a related issue of engineers who never expect a given piece of work to be repaired (i.e. they expect it to just be replaced when it wears out). Which is just a guarantee that some fool will demand that another engineer repair it at some point.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.{nods} A common (perhaps trivial) case are the people who refuse to throw out disposable things, requiring people to worry about, say, whether harmful chemicals will be released if your plastic forks are put in a dishwasher. My mother reused bags over and over again until she learned that the ink used on many commercial bags released (potentially) harmful compounds when subjected to hot water such as when washing.
I tend to put plastic bags away for potential reuse, but I don't wash them. If they ever get wet, I throw them away.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.I use most small plastic bags in wastepaper baskets, or to keep my lunch in for work.
(Annoyed grunt)The latter was what she was using them for. Bread bags for sandwiches (I was up to four every lunch in high school, growing boy and all), that kind of thing. It looks like it's not generally an issue unless you turn them inside out, but the ink sometimes contained high levels of lead.
We just reuse the plastic baggies from supermarket for trash but that's it. Those big black trashbags I always see in american movies are not a thing in here, so we pack some things into those smaller ones for ease of emptying the trash bucket out.

You know, Sam is such an altruist. First thinking of a way to give robots what they want, then giving Max some well-earned peace of mind... he's a true friend.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. He raises the principle of pursuing one's enlightened self-interest to levels undreamt of by philosophers.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."Three strips later◊, Sam has succeeded in getting the attention of the robots with his careening office chair technique, but still doesn't get the whole "he's not human and therefore won't be saved" thing...
I half expect Monday's strip to have him still intercepted by a robot since "it might traumatize a human to have you run into them".
I think all parties also failed to consider the possibility that Sam wouldn't stay on the chair.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster."What's the difference between leadership and reckless idiocy?"
"Leadership is when it works."
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."
[1]◊
Is it just me, or is that an absurdly long distance for Sam to keep on flying out of that runaway office chair? It must have been going really fast...
This Space Intentionally Left Blank. He's practically at orbital velocity for the downslope...
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"That slope got to end somewhere, which will hurt for him. Unless, of course, if a robot decides to save him.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.
I think they make a good Freudian Trio. Sam as Id, Florence as Super-Ego and Max as Ego
