I really like Mega Man as it rolls off the the tougue better for me at least.
"Thanos is a happy guy! Just look at the smile in his face!"I prefer Blues to just calling him Proto Man all the time.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireAnybody else think Wily should drop the Bass and rename him Dubstep?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThat should be Bass' wannabe edgelord little brother
Alternatively: a version of the Wily Machine that he uses to drop into stages

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireI've just started Battle Network 2 and it's definitely a step up from the first. Am I the only one who notices the similarities between the characters designs in Battle Network and My Hero Academia?
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?Wait until you get to the Internet! :D
The Protomen enhanced my life.I thought I already was on the internet
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?At the midpoint of Stream:
- Stream is dark. As in, there are a lot of scenes that take place at night, in dimly-lit rooms, and other poorly-lit environments.
- You can see the pendulum start to swing heavily towards the side of Cross Fusion over the Cyberworld. Most of Axess did try to keep a balance between the two, but here there are more than a handful of episodes that have very little involvement from the Navis before breaking out the Dimensional Areas.
- Speaking of, poor Mr. Famous. In the first season he was this enigmatic guy who showed up to save the day by handing out power-ups. Now he exists almost solely to press a button each episode and tell people not to call him "Mr."
- Some of these one-shot episodes I enjoyed, like the Japanman one and the Coldman one (the disco outfits return!), and others were rather bad, such as the one where a kid sparks a food shortage because he doesn't want to eat his vegetables or when Beastman uses Asteroid magic or whatever to make cars go feral. But the one where those Stupid Crooks use Asteroid Gravityman to make Manabe think she's overweight was So Bad, It's Good because it felt like the writing and direction was in on the joke too.
- Props to the anime writers for being able to justify Napalmman's turn as an ally compared to the games. I liked the theme of that episode a lot too; a guy whose powers do nothing but destroy finding a way to use those very same destructive powers to bring joy and happiness to people.
- Game-Baryl: an elite member of Netopia's armed forces. Anime-Baryl: an elite member of Netopia's armed forces - twenty years in the past whose Navi can travel through time thanks to a cyber Negative Space Wedgie. Why ya gotta make things harder for yourselves, writers?
- I don't think I'm too fussed over Higsby and Ribitta being written out of Team Colonelman in favor of Yuri and Mayl. Yuri already has a preexisting connection to Duo, a big one at that, and anime-Mayl already gets more of spotlight than her game counterpart, so letting her Cross Fuse for real and being one of the thirteen crest-bearers feels like a natural extension of that. Must've been a late decision though since Ribitta and Toadman are showcased in the first ending sequence with the rest of the teammates.
I also watched the movie since it's relatively short and does provide some context for later developments, mainly Regal's return and what happened to Bass. It goes by pretty quickly and feels pretty standalone by the end though. I do wonder if part of the problems with Stream's writing and pacing come from the movie being greenlit relatively late in the preproduction process so the writers just excised some of the story elements they had planned for the TV anime and were left with a decent chunk of episodes to fill with even more one-shot Monster of the Week Asteroid Navis and harebrained Neo WWW schemes than usual. It would explain why Mr. Famous makes a throwaway reference to Spectrum in an early episode or why Bass is featured relatively prominently in the opening yet ultimate barely figures into the plot at all (though granted that was also true of him back during the first season as well).

My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsIn regards to how the Irregular/Maverick Virus was developed by Wily to control Zero, would that be that the virus was actually a drug Wily made and that any robot that came into contact with it was proof that it was a drug meant for Zero only?
there's a theory on the Mega Man X series' WMG page that says that the Maverick Hunter virus might actually be a software patch designed for Zero to calm him down (seeing how eerily calm and super deadly he becomes in the Maverick Zero path of X5), and that it causes other robots/reploids to go berserk because its that incompatible with other systems
Really?
Cause he seemed pretty crazy when he woke up. Maybe Zero's not a morning person?
One Strip! One Strip!Wily probably neglected to actually patch Zero :P
Someone activated the pod before updates were finished
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHE'D ALREADY BEEN ASLEEP FOR A CENTURY.
Stella ~Part 3 (Atelier Shallie)I've had updates that have felt longer
Forever liveblogging the AvengersPossibility: instead of "ZERO KILLS EVERYONE," the fan theory that's been kicking since X4, the game that links Classic and X is an Enemy Mine with Dr. Wily, where Mega Man has to deliver the new "vaccine" to Wily's rampaging super robot.
YOU PICKED THE WRONG STAGE FOOL
Re: the English name change, I actually like how the Archie Comics handled it, by explaining that Rock named himself after the Mega Buster, since it's his signature weapon.
As in many cases, Archie comics Mega Man made everything better
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI love the games but didn't like the comics very much. I'm not really sure why. I think maybe part of it was that it does the 'no truly sentient robots until the X series' thing but it seemed more of a Tell Dont Show case since Rock, Roll, and Blues can think, reason, feel emotions to the point of having tear ducts, and bend the laws of robotics.
I remember when the last couple issues came out people were furious with Dr. Light over the Robot Masters being reprogrammed or shut down.

The Protomen enhanced my life.I do agree that comic Robot Masters are just as sentient as Reploids.
Where there's life, there's hope. There's also the whole Dr. Lalinde issue with erasing Quake Woman's emotions. I think even the writers caught onto how bad that came across cause a later issue softened it so Tempo's IC chip was damaged in the quake, so it wasn't entirely Lalinde's fault.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Rest of the Classic series really does make you question what really is true sentience when it comes to robots. Obviously at first there wasn't much of a plot to make note of that but after X series made storytelling bit more prevalent and established that fact, the rest of the classic series greyed out the line.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!I think it's pretty clear that, while robots in the Classic series have intelligence that's very close to humans, they're still are unable to truly act independently since they're all three-laws compliant, and have several cognitive limitations that would make them stand out.
In Mega Man 9, for example, all of the nominally heroic robot characters seem unable to comprehend why the Robot Masters would want to live beyond their expiration dates. It's a quietly unsettling moment in an otherwise bog-standard Classic Mega Man story, and I'd argue that it's one of the best bits of writing in the series just for the questions it forces you to ask about robot society.

It's just fine to me. Rock and Roll's a decent name scheme, but other than that, Mega's just fine. Besides, Blues is kind of a dumb name in English.
"No will to break."
