Troper Updates II, Part II

I have been absent thede days due to connection issues in my laptop, as every time I would manage to grab the connection it would be dropped off less than a minute later. This had happened a week ago, and as mysteriously as it happened it went away. The same thing began since last Sunday during night and ended this morning. Weirder yet, it only happens with this specific Wi-Fi network, not with my phone's hotspot, and the former works perfectly fine in my Switch and phone, as well as everybody else's TVs when they watch Youtube and streaming stuff.

During this time, I did browse Internet from my phone, and haven't edited TVT from there because the UI is very inuntuitive for me. I'm too used to editing with a keyboard, haha.

Either way, if someone was asking why I didn't post anything or wasn't doing any more crosswicking edits, it was for this reason. Tomorrow I'll resume my roadmap, but I have a gut feeling that the connection dropouts will return sometime in the future (and fairly soon, even); so whenever I can afford it I'll need to go to some PC technical support area to bring this up.

There was an earthquake in my area that I didn't even see or feel, and only now, 3 hours later, did they decide we have an early dismissal.

We may be in the same general area, I also had an earthquake that I never felt.

I felt and heard it. Whole house was shaking when I woke up. We don't get many earthquakes on this coast.

Out of curiosity, where did it happen? I'm currently on Midland TX and didn't feel anything (and neither did my brother nor the rest of his family).

It hit in New Jersey and spread to neighboring states like New York and other east coast states.

Good news, everyone! I'll be going to the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo on the last day of it: the 28th of April. So this year's National Princess Week will have gotten an extra day added to it. ;)

I have ice cream (non-dairy for medical reasons) in the freezer that I've had since Easter. I still haven't found a time to eat it yet, to find a good time for it. I prefer to eat special things for a "reason." To be doing it while doing something "special." But I haven't found that "reason" yet.

Just finished watching NIMONA (2023). What a great movie! It feels like something that Disney could never make. Subverting tropes and having a much more original story with twists they'd never pull.

Depends on what you mean by “make”, the talent that makes isn’t the same as the executives who allow being made. But Disney’s executives sure aren’t the kind to allow the being made of such a movie considering they actively tried to can it.

But then, I have no reason to believe their motivations for canning it were anything less petty than not liking LGBTQ+ characters in the main cast.

I hate-watched Wish (2023) to see how bad it was. I can only describe it as a hollow shell of Disney's former glory. Every minute watching it was a soul-obliterating experience and made me want to cry in despair.

Ouch. Disney has had some great stuff in the 2010s imo, with Zootopia and Bolt and Big Hero 6 and Wreck-It Ralph, but now they seem to be struggling creativity-wise and in terms of making money. But it's hard for me to care, considering there's some fantastic competition out there creating really good stuff. (Like Nimona for that matter.) I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the talent - as in, the people who come up with all the good ideas - are leaving Disney or being stifled by executive level decisions.

Meanwhile, I just watched the new Skibidi Toilet episode. The lore keeps getting more intense. Now we see what appears to be video footage of a laboratory, with actual normal humans, and they're looking at the POV character (who is a person with a camera for a head) and giving the thumbs up, implying that all the camera-headed people were trained by real humans to do the thumbs up motion themselves.

I mean, Encanto was very well received.

Just got a Spotify account. I hope to expand my musical taste as well as rediscover some favorites with it.

I notice the "youtube channels you've unsubscribed from" thread is locked, and I've noticed there's been an increase in enforcing the (new to me) rule about disallowing negative commentary on the forums.

I am not a fan. it feels stifling to debate for one, but also just general conversation. This will cause people to have to walk on eggshells, and just discourage discussing whole topics.

I guess you missed the whole deal with the insecurities thread from way back.
