In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

What are the known facts then? I'm totally in the dark here.
http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/investigation-summary.pdf
On 9 March 2015, Jeremy Clarkson reported to BBC management that he had been involved in a physical and verbal incident with Oisin Tymon, the producer of Top Gear, at the Simonstone Hall Hotel, North Yorkshire, whilst working on location. The incident had occurred on 4 March 2015 and Jeremy Clarkson was suspended on 10 March, pending investigation.
I was asked to undertake an investigation to establish the facts of what occurred. In conducting my investigation, in line with the BBC’s usual practice, I interviewed a number of witnesses and others connected with the incident. Accounts were agreed, based on my interviews, with each participant.
Having conducted these interviews and considered the evidence presented, I conclude the following: on 4 March 2015 Oisin Tymon was subject to an unprovoked physical and verbal attack by Jeremy Clarkson. During the physical attack Oisin Tymon was struck, resulting in swelling and bleeding to his lip. The verbal abuse was sustained over a longer period, both at the time of the physical attack and subsequently.
Specific facts I have found as part of my investigation are as follows:
- Earlier on 4 March, studio recording of Top Gear had taken place in Surrey and the presenters had travelled that same evening to the location shoot in North Yorkshire;
- The incident occurred on a patio area of the Simonstone Hall Hotel, where Oisin Tymon was working on location for Top Gear;
- The physical attack lasted around 30 seconds and was halted by the intervention of a witness;
- It is the case that Oisin Tymon offered no retaliation;
- The verbal abuse was directed at Oisin Tymon on more than one occasion – both during the attack and subsequently inside the hotel – and contained the strongest expletives and threats to sack him. The abuse was at such volume as to be heard in the dining room, and the shouting was audible in a hotel bedroom;
- Derogatory and abusive language, relating to Oisin Tymon and other members of the Top Gear team, continued to be used by Jeremy Clarkson inside the hotel, in the presence of others, for a sustained period of time;
- It is clear that Oisin Tymon was shocked and distressed by the incident, and believed that he had lost his job;
- Following the attack, I understand that Oisin Tymon drove to a nearby A&E department for examination;
- Over the subsequent days, Jeremy Clarkson made a number of attempts to apologise to Oisin Tymon by way of text, email and in person; and
- It is the case that Jeremy Clarkson reported the incident to BBC management.
It was not disputed by Jeremy Clarkson or any witness that Oisin Tymon was the victim of an unprovoked physical and verbal attack. It is also clear to me that Oisin Tymon is an important creative member of the Top Gear team who is well-valued and respected. He has suffered significant personal distress as a result of this incident, through no fault of his own.

"Yup. That tasted purple."Woah. Thanks for the info.
Why did the guy he punched think he'd lost his job? O_o
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerBecause part of his job is as site manager, and he'd failed on one count - which was getting enough food ready for everybody.
"Did you expect somebody else?"And because the man who assaulted and verbally abused him for it pretty much is Top Gear.
Fresh-eyed movie blogJust spent an hour going over the configuration of my build server before I got word that Github was being DDoSed. Well, at least now I can be certain the problem's not on my side.
I kind of wish I owned a business in Indiana now. Cause after the stupid ass law they passed, I'd hang a huge banner emblazoned with Mjolnir on it and a sign in the window that said "no Christians allowed."
After all if discrimination is allowed due to religious beliefs in that godforsaken state, it'd be legal.
There's already RFRAs in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. As well as the federal RFRA (which is what Burwell v. Hobby Lobby was decided on).
The whole concept is fucking stupid.
Indiana's is much more pro-discrimination than the Federal though.
Fresh-eyed movie blogWhat law was passed?
Gah, mother got caught drunk driving so Dad and I had to go get her.
At first I thought I should go in case he needed help, then I said "Maybe I shouldn't go..."
And he said, "No, you should."
So we drove to where she got stopped, I took his truck home and he drove her home in her car.
She wasn't hurt or arrested, but someone who called Dad said that she was really swearing at him.
It really pains me to see my mother drunk. She's usually so nice, but apparently she gets really mean to other people when she drinks too much.
I guess I'm lucky that she's home now, but it really makes me sad...
That's really unfortunate.
Project progress: The Adroan (102k words), The Pigeon Witch, (40k). Done but in need of reworking: Yume Hime, (50k)So I spent this afternoon looking through my dad's stuff, sorting them, really. Learnt some interesting things.
He couldn't look after CD's for shit, he once helped steal a Russian Sailor's hat from a brothel in order to complete someone's disguise, he parachuted into a guys 21st birthday party (he was invited), he's written two books and had plans for several more, he had quite a few pictures of topless women, including Sigourney Weaver.
I'm glad for the closure but holy shit my dad was fucking crazy. He once drove the family sedan while it was starting to catch fire away from a burning car, which was melting the road and the plastics of the car.

Pops be cray cray, yo.
I don't get the point of Tidal. It's like Jay Z thought to himself, "Hey, let's make a premium service for music streaming that pays artists the same as Spotify and a premium premium service that no sane consumer can afford but pays the average artist twice as much!"
Meanwhile the userbase of Tidal is a fraction of the userbase of Spotify.

dead devotionSo tomorrow is the first day of my new job. It's like halfway up town, so I'm debating taking the highway or going my usual slow route along that long road with all of the stoplights...
I rather hate the highway, more than I hate regular roads. Going up ramps really unsettles me...
I'm really hoping that I can get fulltime so that I can justify finally moving out to get a place nearer to work. Optimizing my life has been taking too LONG.

I just noticed myself nodding in response while having a conversation on the phone. I have no idea why I do this.
It's better than nodding to a conversation you read on a forum.
I'm sitting behind The Friend That Nobody Likes in choir class. The reason nobody likes him is because of his massive ADHD, which he takes meds for. Guess what he forgot for the second day in a row.
He also squirted me with a water bottle in the same class. (He apologized and swears it was an accident, but it was still an unpleasant surprise.)

“Not a promise, not an oath, or a malediction or a curse. Inevitable." - Taylor HebertBack from the first day of my new job.
Besides the nearly unbearable heat, the TOTALLY unbearable new shoes, and my just bearable summer all-in-my-face hair...it went well. Way less stressful than my old job, even if there were way less people. But that was one reason I wanted to work at the library.
It's still only shelving books in the children's section though. I had hoped I'd do more of the adult books. But maybe if I'm there longer I can move to the upper levels.
Oddly enough, I'm back from the first day of my new job('s opening).
I handed out a lot of free bread (don't ask).
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerHEY WHY WERE YOU HANDING OUT FREE BREAD BISECTED?
At this point it's not clear.
"Yup. That tasted purple."
