In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

Hopi: What, really? :o Talk about misleading names! :p
ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅ@ Zersk. Well, compared to their national right-wing parties (French Union pour movement populaire; Spanish People's Party; German Christian Democrats; British Conservatives), their policy manifestos are fairly left-ish. However, on a wider, political scale, they are more towards the centre-point, but still in the authoritarian-right sector.
Huh. :/ So like left-wing in the American Democrat sense?
ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅAs far as I understand they're more left than the American Democrats, but yes.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. The Democrats aren't really all that left. Like at all.
Gimme yer lunch money, dweeb.Oh okay. :o
^ Exactly. :p

ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅHrrrm. Be careful drawing comparisons, Zersk.
The Democrats still run on 18th century classical liberalism; they're just less likely to push that ideology.
European politics are running on mid-20th century social democratic ideas; ie. welfare spending, civil rights, etc.
(Canada runs on early-20th century social liberalism, which is why your Liberal and Conservative parties have been changing places [until the NDP became Official Opp])
The Democrats are more centre-right in non-American terms, in fact.
Keep Rolling OnHopi: Ohh, alright. :o
Complicated. :3
ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅDemocrats are just too left for Republicans.
So... Since Mario couldn't go left in Super Mario Bros...
Would that make him a Republican?
Just floating around...@ Zersk. Very.
Generally, the major left- and right-wing parties in Europe will have a social consensus. For example, in Britain, all three major parties support gay marriages, abortion, etc.
Where the parties differ, however, is their economic plans, and the social consequences of those plans. That is what creates a difference between the major European parties.
Also the Tories only really support Gay marriage because otherwise would probably be political suicide right now.
Gimme yer lunch money, dweeb.Social consequences? :o
ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅSuch false dichotomy. Today at school I saw a billboard that said "Vote November whenever" and had Obama and Romney facing each other.
I want to live to see the day when neither a Republican NOR a Democrat gets into that office!
@ Slendy. Indeed.
@ Zersk. e.g. The Conservative party support outsourcing public services to the private sector. The social consequences of this means that unemployment will increase in areas that rely heavily on public-sector employment.
Expect to wait a long time.

Hopi: Oh okay. :o
Key: That would be nice, but it's probably not going to happen soon. >.>
ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅHopey!
15 min before college. I don't wanna!
You don't know that Zersk! One year, someone may let loose some horrible secret about one of the parties and they become discredited forever after.
Or aliens could invade and institute their own government, who knows.
NUUUU
-glomps Day-
@ Key: The day that would happen would be the day they release the entire Mother trilogy here in America, and the day I dye my hair blue.
Just floating around...You are leaving Day? Awww...
Gimme yer lunch money, dweeb.Hopey -is glomped and glomps back-
Slendy- Not yet, I still have some time.
Then I shall remain happy for now. Excellent.
Gimme yer lunch money, dweeb.
Oh. Zersk!
ZERSK.
Did you know?
The French Socialists; Spanish Socialists; the German Social Democrats; and British Labour, are considered to be their respective national left-wing parties. However, surveying their policy manifestos find them to be more towards the authoritarian-right?
