Ah, thing is I use the Lucky 38 as a base of operations, so I keep all my weapons and armor there. The desk with the computer has all my melee weapons, the wardrobe to the left has all my ranged weapons and the wardrobe to the right has all my armor and clothing. There is a Deathclaw hand trophy lying on a desk, and trophies lie all over the place, like cloud residue and embalming fluin on desks and such.

Oh, and for some reason, Veronica likes to sleep in the bed of the room I claimed as mine by putting all my stuff there.

That Sink tho. Autodoc AND a merchant within walking distance of all my swag? Hells yeah.

How the hell do you achieve neutral karma? (I think it's a pretty stupid requirement for certain companions)

Thievery is an easy, quick way to lose karma.

You don't need a specific Karma level for any of the companions.

Not for New Vegas. He is probably talking about Fallout 3, which is required for the Robot, I think

But this is the New Vegas thread, I guess

Close enough. In FO 3: murder traders! those wandering douches keep all their swag on their bodies like idiots.

Yeah. And their clothes usually make it so that you get better prices from the few lucky traders you DON'T kill. Everyone's a winner. :-P

I really have to get back into 3 and New Vegas at some point - I've been so busy doing Skyrim, Guild Wars 2 and Human Revolution that I've almost forgotten what the Wastelands are like.

One thing is for sure, if there's a sequel at some point, boom - Preorder. The Fallout, Elder Scrolls and Far Cry series are the only games I will do that for now.

I kinda wish New Vegas had Skyrim-style auto-placing shelves, racks, mannequins, and mounts that make it easy to make nice displays of weapons, armor, and books, rather than haphazardly stuffing everything in a drawer or spilling it all over the floor.

Hopefully Fallout 4, or New Vegas 2, and I'm leaning towards the latter one maybe coming out first, will be able to satisfy your dress-up doll and home making needs. tongue

Though you are right. Going back to New Vegas after Skyrim and you realise it's a lot more messy in its management of your items when they are not on your person.

If you're trying to get neutral karma in 3 but have good karma then try using an owned computer over and over. It's only a 5 karma hit each time but it is pretty simple. There's one that can be found in the back of Moriarty's bar in Megaton.

For those on PC the ACM Armory is a simple player home with a smart sorting and storage system as well as a trophy room for unique weapons. It has an optional file for a series of four mannequins to put armor on. You can adjust the gender and armed/unarmed stance of the mannequins. It is located in Good Springs next to the bar.

The item storage part is the best. It works one of three ways. Dialogue via an NPC who lets you choose which category of items to sort and store. It has a category for all of your item types including an option for all gear. You can of course go to the assorted labeled ammo cans and wall lockers and put stuff in manually including a chest for MISC items. The final sorting option is two wall lockers. One you put stuff you want to keep in it and then use the NPC to sort what is left out of your inventory. The other you put items into it from you inventory and it auto-sorts them. It has the basic work benches and IIRC a place to sleep. No special items just a place to crash and store your junk smartly.

The Trophy room creates a copy of your unique weapon so you can still use it while the copy sits on a wall with an informative plaque.

I'm probably waaaaay late to the "Tale of Two Wastelands" discussion, but with the version I had, when you started a new Fallout New Vegas game... you started by being born as in Fallout 3. You end up finding a train station in a metro not terribly far from Vault 101 (kinda close to Sukhov's place (did I butcher the name?) and THAT takes you to the West Coast, two years later. You then load up New Vegas waking up in Doc Mitchel's house.

This makes it plausible (but not completely fool-proof) that the protagonist in 3 and NV are the exact same person. A proper game with lots of dev support and all that fun stuff would make it perfectly seamless, but as it stands, it makes 3 SO MUCH MORE FUN to play, as you have real iron sights, a much nicer companion interaction system and you can bring all the awesome New Vegas items into the Capital Wasteland and pwnt the snot out of everything. The 3-specific perks are also included... so once you hit level 30, you can take Almost Perfect and have 9's for all your stats and completely OP the rest of the game. It may become completely unrealistic, but it's OH SO MUCH FUN TO DO.

A number of mods work just fine with it, although I had trouble with World of Pain for 3 messing stuff up.

While on the subject of crossovers, I'd totally love a Skyrim/Fallout crossover mod. Because supressed modded .45's beat the pants out of a bow any day of the week.

F03 GOTY is like seven bucks right now on steam you guys. I'll be trying to get TOTW working later.

[up][up] If you start in F03 can you still pick traits at character creation?

[up] I dunno, my bow's got paralysis and shock on it. Taser bow hits first taser bow gonna win.

Can't remember, but I think you get to pick traits at the start of 3 with it. Been awhile.

And after typing away for a good hour, I have 2400 words of hurried brainstorming on a generic fallout denizen waking up in Skyrim, the apparent victim of a summoning spell gone horribly wrong. Deaf, shattered back, but she still has her rifle. My question (and this is probably better suited for a fanfic thread) is if English would be understood by the average Nord in Skyrim. I'm rolling with "it doesn't matter, she's deaf".

Other races do have their own languages in TES but it never seems to stop anyone. TES does have magic if you feel like getting around it.

The signs are all in English, though that could admittedly just be Translation Convention.

For those who have the "Ran out of Memory" or stability issues This has helped me immensely. Make sure your mods are set up correctly using the LOOT tool for load orders. Follow the directions simple as that.

God TTW is a bitch. NMM just craps out after awhile and FOMM doesn't even want to open the package manager anymore. Not that it was working well in the first place. Probably have to do this manually.
