And I'm glad I got them when they were free.
I got them when they were free and then I realized I don't really like them too much.
Oh really when? Are you saying this let you play them for the first time, or that you'd played them before some other way and just didn't remember?
First time. I simply adore all the characters and locations but the top down sort turn thingy doesn't really do anything for me.
Oh really when?Yeah, I didn't enjoy it much either.
I don't mind that it's top-down, or turn-based, or that the graphics are little old.
But the way moving works when you're not in combat is somehow really non-intuitive to me. It kinda feels like they made moving turn-based even when you're not in combat. :S
And I don't like how each area is separated into different parts either, it makes it hard for me to navigate. Can't figure out which way is the exit and which is inaccessible.
I don't think I understand exactly how combat works either, but I'm not sure since I've only had to fight rats.
Say, there wouldn't happen to be a mod for Fallout 3 that sets things up with proper iron sights and all those other little improvements that New Vegas introduced, would there?
Oh really when?Yup. In fact the reason that there are iron sights in the game is that Obsidian looked at the biggest mod doing that on the Nexus. Or so I have read.
Just do a keyword search on the Fallout New Vegas Nexus site for iron sights and that particular mod should pop up.
I would link it but I'm on the world's slowest tablet at the moment.
After completing an NCR game, the endings made me seriously wonder about JE Sawyer's Word of God, and Cass' comments, on just how overextended the NCR is supposed to be. Are the endings intended to imply that the NCR's dick is really that long?
And why are you able to fix the NCR's problems by yourself, without having a similar ability to fix the Followers' problems without NCR help?

Because the writers hate the Followers. Or something.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Huh. More like the writers just got lazy on every path but the NCR's.
Eh, I'm not complaining.
NCR all the way
Oh really when?I dunno. House and Independent still feel pretty fleshed out to me. The Legion sucks, though.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."House and Independent feel fleshed out because you can still work with the NCR right up until you stab them in the back. Thus, the Legion path feeling half-baked, because once you go Legion, you're locked out of half the game if you haven't completed it already.
The Legion needed more content than it got, because it really is Another Side, Another Story. (Also, woulda been nice if we had the planned civilian settlements across the Colorado River so we could see for ourselves what life's like for civilians under the Legion, instead of just hearing Raul and Cass as their apologists. While I'm wishing.)
But the Legion are dicks
Oh really when?Irrelevant. The option to back the Legion is there. Ergo, it should not be a half-assed option.
Taunt me any more, and I'll write up a full-on apologetic for Sallow's Merry Rapists.

It's Sallow's Merry Band of Baby Killing Rapists.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. The Legion has it's flaws and can be horrible, but it is a legitimate ending and should be treated as such even if they can be pretty horrible.
Pfft, Fallout 1 and 2 interface is totally objectively best interf-
Okay, yeah, even I do have to admit it is awkward one Still great and fun games, but yeah, you have to first get used to weird hexagon land of slow awkward moving and party members blocking you
I never had to get used to it, but then I kinda grew up on it.
So I know this is the New Vegas thread but the Fallout 3 thread is old and I don't wanna necro things.
What are some good mods for Fallout 3?
Oh really when?Fallout Script Extender (FOSE) Most mods need this.
UPDATED Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch (obviously...)
RH_IronSights (you'll a compatibility patch if you want to use it with the one above)
JIP Companions Command and Control Haven't tried this one but it gives companions a really neat-looking UI, and it does lots of convenient stuff.
DelayDLC If you have any DLC this is essential.
There's more cosmetic mods like Fellout, and stuff that makes enemies more difficult etc. But I feel like that's more of a matter of taste, really. I'm used to the green tints...
Does Project Nevada fix bugs in the game? If yes, how is it? If no, what does?
noisivelet naht nuf erom era srorrimNo, it doesn't fix bugs (Though, in my opinion, it does fix a lot of problems the game has that weren't bugs.)
For actual bug fixes, I recommend first making sure you have all official patches, and then taking a look at the Yukichigai Unofficial Patch. Pretty much every mod that guy has is worth looking at, as well.
Mission Mojave also seems to be popular, but I'm not a fan.

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."
$25 for all three? I'm sorry, but that's pretty overpriced and ridiculous. I'm just glad I got Fallout and Fallout 2 from GoG for $5 each back in 2012. I should probably finish them eventually.
