One of the combatants in the war against Eastasia. Or was it Eurasia?

I can never remember.

It's still a bit of a surprise how fast nintendo hit the cap of the capabilities of the 3DS, and things they are having to do to bypass that cap. Let's be honest, Smash 3d is the video game equivalent of filling a 9X9X9 box with a 12X7X9 object.

The description I heard of what the system actually has to do in order to get Smash to run is insane. The 3DS is essentially hacking its own OS.

...That was it. The system has to bypass its own OS and shut down everything that the game doesn't use.

is that why it takes so long to boot up, and why after closing it from the 3ds menu the screen goes dark for about 30 seconds?

Probably. I know it's definitely the cause of the weird close-down sequence, but I can't say for sure about the start-up other than that it sounds like a reasonable assumption.

It is indeed the cause for the startup. The system effectively shuts down and turns itself back on with just Smash running. This is why there's a delay the first time you try to open the home menu when Smash is running.

I can bypass the restart by directly opening another program rather than closing Smash first. I don't know how healthy that is for the machine, though.

I just assumed it did the restart silently when I did that.

Bit worried about my L button. It still completely works, but it's giving a lot less physical feedback now. It feels less like a button and more like a touchpad.

I've only had this 3DS since July, and I use R a LOT more than L, so I'm confused.

Ultimate NES Remix comes with a home theme. Cool.

Majora's Mask 3D though! And in spring, so closer than it could have been.

I am a hype for Majora's Mask. Never played it and have wanted to since I finished off Ocarina.

Codename: STEAM, I'll keep my eye on and...NES Remix isn't getting great reviews.

Majora's Mask is always great. STEAM looks good. Still not enough games to save it yet though. Hope we get a December Direct.
