You should definitely try Jekyll and Hyde for a day! I find its gameplay fascinating.

No, only Mega Man 2 got a mention. That and Street Fighter 2 were the only video games, that got adapted into Tiger games, that were mentioned in that review.
Also, in that video, he talked about the Street Fighter 2 board game. Board James would later cover it in an episode about Video Game board games.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I saw NES Jekyll and Hyde at my local game store for 20 dollars. I ALMOST bought it.
I did, however, buy two other J&H games for the PC. The 2001 one crashes in level 2 so I'll never be able to beat it, but I'm far into the 2010 one.
Both games involve Jekyll and Hyde battling some evil cult for whatever reason. I get the feeling the developers wanted to do an Indiana Jones style game, couldn't get the license, and pulled from the public domain. The only good game was one that was actually based on the novel, an adventure game for the ZX Spectrum. There was a DS game also based on the novel but it was tepid.
More about them here.

The Protomen enhanced my life.Speaking of Board James, i'm sure it's been discussed already, but what was everyone's opinion on "Nerd and Board James being the same person" thing?
I for one thought it was a little..... strange, and thought it was going to lead to something, but I don't think it ever had any kind of payoff.
It's not finished just yet...but who knows.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I just struggled for an hour on a Jekyll and Hyde 2010 level segment that rivals the clock towers in Castlevania. There are no enemies, but Jekyll has to jump like a normal human being across a series of platforms going the wrong way in a circle, starts a little too close to the edge if you die, you constantly have to adjust yourself after landing so there's room to jump at all, jumping to the final platform is at a different angle than the other jumps, and there's lag. To top it off, if you fall off of the following segment you have to do it all over again, and it's even possible to accidentally go back to the entrance to the room and have to do everything over.
I sweated so much you'd swear I was trying to make those jumps in real life.
On the plus side the room immediately after had Hyde yell at Jekyll to shut up, which almost made it worth it.

The Protomen enhanced my life.I bought Ghostbusters (Genesis) after seeing it on AVGN. Not a bad game, but kinda short.
I've only played a few games that AVGN covered:
- Castelvania II
- Zelda II
- Super Mario Bros 3
The only games I ever played BEFORE AVGN reviewed them were the Back to the Future NES game, Mario is Missing, and Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle. There may have been a couple others but those are ones I can think of off the top of my head.
I actually remember enjoying Crazy Castle (original NES version) quite a bit.
I'm always saying you might enjoy the PC version of Mario Is Missing.
Inspiration struck me at 1 AM. 5 hours later, i made this. My apologies to the cast of the 1994 Jekyll and Hyde Complete Gothic Work, but the song fit the NES game SO WELL to the point that I wondered if the guys making the musical had played the game before. My favorite part and the one I'm most proud of was syncing up Jekyll's screams with the bomb explosion.
(Jekyll and Hyde's life bars are static at times because without cheat codes I couldn't last 30 seconds as either without dying...)

The Protomen enhanced my life.Ah yes, truly the most Haloweeny franchise of them all.
Actually watching the review makes it clear where the scary part comes in.
Though personally, the climax cracked me up for a good several minutes. "IT WAS SPELLED BERENSTEEEEEEIN!"
You know, i never noticed the whole Berenstain/ Berenstein name thing when i was young because i didn't know how to pronounce it and didn't bother to remember it until i watched this video.
I just find it silly that most people were convince the name was Berenstein when they were young.
I think it's because Berenstain is such an uncommon spelling of that name. Most people are named Berenstein.
I never recall hearing it pronounced "stein," though, so I probably just never thought about the spelling until hearing of a lot more "-steins." It seems to be a rare variant of "Bernstein" from how immigration officers tried to render it.
I always remember hearing it pronounced "Burn-steen".
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.AVGN (and Keith) Shoot the Money.
Didn't much care for this episode but I'm happy that AVGN X2 is coming out soon.
I liked it. It's a different style of humor from the Nerd (Prop comedy and a healthy dose of Trash the Set), but it works mostly because of how ridiculous and rather expensive those peripherals must have been. The little Octagon Activator is my favorite of useless gaggle.
Huh, it looks like the AVGN dropped off my subscribed channels.
The subscription bug did hit me after all.
Keith Apicary has always been a character built entirely on physical comedy and slapstick. There really wasn't any better guy they could have gotten for peripherals that are seemingly designed to make you look ridiculous.
I have no words...
That was.........weird.
Has anyone ever attempted to play a game after AVGN reviewed it?
I actually saw Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde at local flea market. I was tempted....
