My favourite bit about Sherlock Cluedo is that Moriarty is the body.

"Because it's not actually possible for the victim to have done it, Sherlock- it's against the rules."

"Then the rules are wrong!"

One thing that's kind of dumb about Clue/do is rusty the person playing the murderer doesn't know they're the murderer.

[up]Yeah, and if you have the solution, you have to admit that you did the murder yourself to win.

Sherlock goes timey wimey.

So, completely out of continuity? That... doesn't sound Moffaty... where's the catch?

I pictured Sherlock using his Mind Palace technique to solve a 130-year old cold case to the point where the Journey to the Center of the Mind becomes indistinguishable from actually psychically projecting himself and John back to the olden days.

[up][up]It's not Moffaty, but keep in mind that Gatiss has run two other shows, both of which had Victorian Christmas episodes, and wrote an episode of Doctor Who with a Victorian Christmas despite the episode airing in April.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

Either that or its a special episode featuring a Sherlock and Watson of the show setting-shifted into the place of their Doyle counterparts.

That, or they may finally be doing that Wholock crossover everyone has been fantasying about grin (kidding, I think it would not be very interesting actually).

So, if this was a normal TV show, it would end with one of the characters waking up from a coma- but it's not exactly a normal TV show...

I honestly don't even know how likely a DW crossover is at this point if they really are willing to break out of continuity.

Rewatching some of the episodes, it got me wondering:

I wonder if there is, or can be, any great modernization of Shakespeare?

As a TV show, I dunno. It's been a thing in film for Lord knows how long.

Actually, BBC did do Shakespeare Retold back 2005.

If you want an actual modern Will Shakespeare, there was web series that had him as insufferable hipster university student. I forget the name of the series though.

EDIT: found it: http://blankverse.tv/

I heard over on the radio that series four will not begin shooting until later in 2016 due to Freeman and Cumberbatch being snatched up for Marvel movies. Leaving us only with the out-of-continuity christmas special

[up]Honestly, as soon as they announce the special I got the feeling that it is mostly there to tide us over because the wait would be even longer this time around.

I think Moffat has outright said that he and Gatiss want to make more Sherlock but Cumberbatch and Freeman being movie stars and starring in blockbusters and blockbuster sequels and so on keeps the series gaps really long.

I wonder if he's got more projects on the go? I thought it would be just this and Doctor Who, but maybe he's got another movie gig after the success of Tintin...

New promotional poster

I think the Comic Con panel is today also. Gatiss promised something on Twitter about a midnight treat (UK time)

I mean, we've already been down that road a bit, what with the unfortunate news photo with the deerstalker.
