Considering how different the character sprite looks from the new C Gs, maybe it's still work in progress.

Looks to me like a cel-shaded 3D model. It'll probably be animated or something. Well, otherwise I can't imagine why they'd lower its quality so much.

Yeah, I don't know why they'd want to do that. Visual Novels go with the manga/anime sort of artstyle anyway so them switching to 3-d animation makes absolutely no sense.

I am more puzzled about the "new ending".

The original "true" end pretty much concluded the game story with all questions answered and no loose ends, and I don't see any room for an alternate ending or a different spin for the conclusion of the events without extensive rewriting of some parts of the game.

Well, there were actually a few loose ends. Kick the can game for example. Can't remember any other off the top of my head but there definitely were some unanswered questions.

There are two things that were not fully explained (or that can not be clearly guessed from the game events) that I remember: Kick the Can, and the changing number of Life Signs. Both are atmospheric but fairly unimportant events that can be explained with Fan Wank using A Coco Did It.

While I can see the remake explaining them, I can not imagine how they could spin it into a new ending, at least not without rewriting the original story and creating a lot new content. Which might turn... pretty bad. I am not panicking or shouting Ruined FOREVER (at least for now...) but the "new ending" part definitely worries me more than the "3D sprites" part.

... A harem ending, where Takeshi hooks up with Tsugumi, You'haru and Sora. Takeshi is awesome enough to pull that off.

Animation can easily make things looks livelier and more natural, and it's still vaguely anime-styled. I wouldn't judge it until we see it in motion (assuming of course, that it actually is what I'm speculating). Also, it's much easier to come up with new expressions and poses when you don't have to redraw the whole thing every time. This would naturally solve the whole "hand glued to back of head" issue and others like it.

No! Impostor!Takeshi's hand must always stay stuck on his head- you don't want to know why it's hidden.

Superglue incident. It's very inconvenient, but he's gotten used to it.

Background behind Sara: love. Sara model/sprite: Could be better. Blue message window: Aw, no alternate backgrounds depending on the view?

On the Kick the can game, it might just be a fan assumption floating around, but it could be due to BW's influence. Just as how Hokuto's voice can be heard at one point, and both Kids get amnesia. The nature of the events causes them to sort of ... merge together.

Also if I'm honest... I'm not really liking Tsugumi's new outfit. I swear they've just gone and added fanservice. :<

Aren't her clothes supposed to cover just about as much of her skin as possible? She's covered with scars.

Also, the whole "argh UV rays burn me" thing, too.

Wow, yeah there's that too. I forgot about her UV intolerance.

While I agree Tsugumi's new outfit looks stupid and runs contrary to the plot, I don't see how it's so bad. They just changed the color around and added an unnecessary *ahem* view.

I don't care about it being fanservicy. Just that she's almost certainly choosing clothing that covers as much of her skin as she possibly can. While I think she'd probably wear that kind of stuff anyway since she has no one to show off to that alone doesn't bother me. Just... scars, cancer.

It's probably going to be explained in story. Probably.

Well hold on. Tsugumi's wearing her regular dark clothes in most of the C Gs shown on the site, but in the one from the original, after she and Sara fight in Kid's path, has her wearing the new clothes. Does that imply that in Kid's route she'll wear a different outfit? Because that might make the twists more obvious. Plus, where'd she get that in the first place?
