The kind of tags I would block, odds are 99% of the time if people are posting in them, I'm just going to block the people in their entirety anyway.

I want the ability to switch off seeing earlier reblogs in the same reblog chain. I am really tired of reading the latest in a conversation which includes all previous conversations quoted, and then getting every single previous post in that conversation also in my dash. I want a "I read this already" feature.

I also want Tumblr to collapse high levels of quoting for readability.

Also, get rid of fucking "reblog as link" default.

And if you want to read the previous conversations, they need not to be compressed into tiny boxes. I've seem some long discussion threads that are simply unreadable because of their length. The first posts in the thread become a word per line kind of thing.

I've started (after switching to reblog as text) switching to Markdown mode and pruning the quotes to just the little bit I'm answering, because I don't want to be obnoxious.

Quick note, you can search for more than one tag at a time. You have to be using the regular Tumblr search, not the Xkit extension "Classic Search", and the search has to be like "#spice girls #wannabe" for example. Doing that will bring up posts with both tags, so you don't have to slog through either tag.

As for things I'd change - I'd bring the post/blog/activity links back onto the dashboard, not hidden behind some menu to create a more "minimalist" design. It's one thing when Pepsi flattens their logo like a deflated balloon - it's another when a website does that to everything, and reduces functionality for the sake of aesthetic or whatever the staff are looking for.

Speaking of Xkit, how much does it suck about the Xkit Guy situation?

Anyone know of any blogging platform alternatives to Tumblr that fandoms navigate to? I'm getting very put off with the sjw community there. LJ is an option I know, but is it terribly active these days?

You can always get a Reddit account and subscribe to the appropriate subreddits.

Personally I just want the damn site to work.

I want the search to function properly, I want the video player to work, I want it's mobile version to be readable without getting a migraine and maybe for its app to not duck balls.

Lets not forget bigger image sizes for GIFs and such.

Removing infinite scrolling from the mobile version would be grand.

I suppose. My first (and second through ninth) reaction would be "oh they saw you had similar names, wanted to see if you were the same person". I know I've done that.

I don't know, I see usernames I recognise from TV tropes on Tumblr all the time. Usually via AHR. I don't think it's necessarily creepy to ask if it's the same person.

Sure. Bikini Armor Battle Damage and Escher Girls, mostly. But some blogs I follow for unrelated reasons also frequently post SJ stuff, such as David Willis and Toasty Hat. Naturally, I frequently clic on intersting reblogs and look around the original poster's blog, although I usually don't follow them (hate dashboard flood).
