Xandra-do has been bounced, as he is Hermiethefrog ban evading, who did exactly the same thing previously — post stupid shit on Tumblr about us.

Tumblr is awesome if you stick to the fandoms, humor, and random cool stuff while avoiding the crazy people(of which there is a thriving eco-system of all different breeds).

Something I have failed miserably at.

I got like the reverse iceberg theory going on. Most of it's fine, but like, the stuff that is like pure horror is few and far between, I've found one or two genuine nazi blogs but I also have found hundreds of really cool a-political photography blogs. Flowers outnumber fascists.

unless serious shit is going down. but, like, I usually only worry if people are going to be hurt in some tangible way. like Ferguson. i wouldn't know anything about Ferguson if it wasn't for tumblr.

Make sure you double check that information with outside sources, there's been some misinformation on that as well(such as someone posting a picture from a KKK march elsewhere that happened a couple years ago and said it was from Fergusion)

welp, obviously, you can't just believe everything that people tell you. the basic evidence that shaped up through tumblr was a lot, though. there was a lot of credible sources being reblogged is what i'm saying.

Yeah, If I recall they wound doxcing a BLACK cop from a different city with the same name at some point.

Perhaps that cop was transethnic. African American-to-Anglo Saxon.

I've noticed that... um... some people use the whole transethnic thing as a way to make social justice on tumblr look bad. Like that people are becoming too extreme. And some people are becoming too extreme... but.. most people in social justice on tumblr don't agree with that sort of cosmetic surgery sort of thing.

Most people consider trying to change your skin colour or if you're white, trying to look like another race, as racist cultural appropriation. It's not popular on tumblr...

Yeah, vitiligo. The rumor that he intentionally "whitened" his skin via plastic surgeries is an urban myth.

I mean, can you imagine the Tumblr shitstorm if that was the case?

Personally, I think most of the "transethnic" crowd falls squarely within the Poe's Law category. Though I also think that liking a good tan doesn't make you racist.

transethnic in actuality refers to people who are one ethnicity and are adopted by another, so that at least is an actual thing =/

I don't get that. So a white kid adopted by a black family would be transethnic to African American culture?

Wait wait. 'Transethnic' is a real thing? As in, people have blogs about it and shit? I've only ever seen it as a joke/rhetorical device about transgenderism.

It's not as common as some of the other stupid on Tumblr, but it pops up every now and again.

Yeah.. transethnic is usually supposed to refer to adoption. Though, that's controversial, too. Some people think you shouldn't adopt people outside of your race because of privilege. Or that you're born with a culture because of your ethnicity. Which I think it's not fair at all. I think it's really sad and tragic how many people on the far left sometimes respond to inequality by separatism. I think that separatism is really terrible and tragic.

For the.. cosmetic... side... of people who call themselves transenthic or transracial.. that does happen, sometimes. Xiahn did that... though I'm not sure if he uses the word transethnic or transracial.

...How is that transethnic rather than simply ethnicity? I mean, ethnicity isn't genetic or biological. Ethnicity is cultural. If you're adopted to parents of a different ethnicity to your consanguinal parents, you aren't someone of one ethnicity raised by people of another ethnicity. You're of the ethnicity of your adopted parents because that's how they're raising you.
