Just met some dude at a club meeting who's started on Discworld and reads Neil Gaiman, taught him how to play MTG with spare decks, and found out he reads TV Tropes.

I finally found somebody to talk to about all this shit! I mean, I already know other folks with common interests and all, but still, this is like the friggin' jackpot! (Well, okay, I don't read Neil Gaiman except when he and Sir Terry team up, but I was thinking about trying American Gods at some point).

Clearly, you two should make out.

Telling from Out Of Jimmys Head and the subpages, a few editors liked sneaking in their Take Thats.

The previous Laconic edit would at least warrant a PM from the moderator, but since it was created back in May, I'm not sure whatever it's worth bringing up now.

Acquaintance of mine says Lifelink only does what it says on the card if the damage is done to a player and if the player controlling Lifelink is attacking. I says, I can't find where it says that anywhere official. She says, she'll write Wizards herself and ask. I says, they say yes then they just lost a customer (They won't notice, but I will, and I'll know I can go ahead and give up on this losing streak I've got going), and also she can have my cards.

Incorrect. Lifelink triggers whenever a creature deals damage. As long as damage is dealt by that creature, it triggers and you get the extra life points.

NO FUCKING SHIT, SHERLOCK.

This is not directed at anyone from this thread, I just felt that way while reading something.

:/ And here I am thinking fifteen's a lot.

Hell, been thinking I might drop it. I can't keep up with it, and I dunno about getting into a game that you have to pay into constantly to even have a fair chance. I'm used to games you only have to pay once for. And also cheap. And unemployed.

You could play it on Cockatrice.

...Hey, Yarrun, Cockatrice is still a thing, right? Or has it stopped being a thing?

MtG online for free. We used to set up troper matches on it. People were being killed by squirrel armies left and right. I'd get a link, but I'm on my phone right now, sorry :/

Granted, we did have a moderately epic bossfight, so there's that. Consensus appears to be that the loot was more epic than the fight, though, oddly enough. :/ I really should've done that with the Soul Edge shards. Stupid me. People don't seem too keen on the idea of their favorite characters' minds getting fucked up; likely why nobody did anything with the shards. Give 'em awesome fragments of a legendary blade with which to render their own weapons unstoppable with a hint of    evil soul-eating craziness   , and they'll go straight for the Blue Pill, but tell 'em to bob for insanity-free weapons in evil blood and tell 'em they can get spikes on and they'll go, "Duuude!"

Man, I gots to get back into D&D. :/ I haven't gotten to play Encounters in ages.

EDIT: I mean, Magic is cool and all, but I can actually get shit done in Encounters. I'm way green at Magic, and it's not just my deck that shows it.

EDIT 2: I'm still green at D&D too, I guess, but at least that doesn't mean I can never accomplish anything at the same table with people who've been playing it for years.

I have returned from slaying the foul unclean one, and finishing a two-game long game on Primarch difficulty...! For the Emperor...! And all that stuff.

...Now what...?

[up]D&D, you say? Heh, what version, my good sir?
