Marco held up. He lasted ages against Kizaru, only dropped out because that spider VA cuffed him from behind, and wasn't incapacitated when he took several laser shots immediately thereafter.

Marco and Vista were the only WB commanders with showings comparable to Jack/Katakuri IMO. Beckmann is probably of similar strength.

Just from the preview images, it looks like World Seeker is just going to take place on a single large island. It looks goddamn gorgeous, but I'm a little disappointed that it looks like there won't be any pirate ship action or other islands. Hopefully, you can at least play as the other Straw Hats.

It's being developed by Ganbarion, so it'll likely be very similar to the Unlimited series, just instead of all the beautiful eye-popping color in World (seriously that was one of the best-looking 3DS games and the visuals translated super-well to the HD consoles) it takes place in Morrowind HD.

I think Chopper in monster point is going to perform a Fastball Special with Carrot to take out Perospero. Considering it'll be both in their respective Super Mode, taking out a guy with a 700 mill bounty seems to make sense.

Also, anyone think Sanji gonna have a rematch against Daifuku?

Sanji vs. Daifuku is one of the most speculated about fights, but it is possibly that Carrot actually clashes with him instead. Not just because they're both right there on the same ship, but he (or rather his genie) was the one to capture her at the wedding when the Big Mom Pirates finally got their second wind, and more importantly, following the moon rabbit theme actual daifuku is made from mochi.

I do like the idea of the Fastball Special though, since that would be a good way to take Perospero out given that he's stuck on Big Mom's shoulder right now.

A bit of reference and fun fact: In the official English chapter Carrot's transformation is referred to as "Sulong", given a translation in dialogue as "Moon Lion".

Translator Stephen Paul explained the logic on The Unofficial One Piece Podcast and, as I understood it, he could not find a direct reference to what Oda was going for with the Japanese term, suuron. Lacking a specific reference, and given the visual similarities to Carrot's transformation to Goku's going giant ape along with Dragon Ball's inspiration from Chinese folklore, he went with the Chinese sounding Sulong pending something that clears up the meaning.

Which is probably preferable to Carrot being a Cylon/Ceylon, which at least one translation did

I have no idea either. Googling スーロン only gave me the new One Piece chapter, a Chinese restaurant in Nishinasuno and Super Dangan Ronpa 2. Googling 月獅子 (moon lion) only gave me astrology pages and an obscure sci-fi novel titled "The lion who ate the waxing moon".

[down] Unlikely. Ceylon is spelled as セイロン.

Given that the kanji reading is "moon lion" I'm inclined to think that Ceylon is supposed to be the intended transliteration, given the existence of the Sri Lanka lion that the scanlations mentioned in the footnotes.

Did Ideo and co. not consider themselves pirates before this cover page? Or is that just a wonky translation?

I know they were just the XXX Gym Alliance beforehand, with no mention of piracy in their title, but wouldn't operating under the Straw Hat banner make them de-facto pirates regardless of what they call themselves?

The translation didn't mess this up. That was indeed their first introduction to piracy.

Because Smoothie hasn't really done anything yet, but I can vaguely imagine Oda using her to show how "cool" Carrot is. Which I think would be terrible, by the way, but it's something that crossed my mind.

I'm all for Carrot fighting someone, but that's strikes me as a really random match up (this is coming from a guy who thought that Kinemon would fight Gladius back in Dressrosa), and I don't think her Sulong form powers her up that much.

Then again, Smoothie did spend the entirety of the wedding yelling "Somebody do something!" and Brook was able to stop her by closing a door, so...

Yeah, even Super-Carrot shouldn't be Emperor commander-level.

If she clashes with Daifuku next week and doesn't get punched out across the length of the ship we can at least say that she's stronger than Sanji tho tongue

Some teaser gameplay of World Seeker just surfaced from Jump Festa. Luffy's channeling some of Insomniac Games' rendition of Spidey zipping around the lone, beautifully rendered island.

You know, it's been bothering me a bit lately how people like to downgrade Big Mom and Kaido and talk up Shanks.

With Whitebeard at least the story itself does it, but Shanks has no such excuse. People just act like he has to be better than them...because he's Shanks, of course!

It'd be helpful if we actually knew what Shanks has in his arsenal aside from just really strong Haki.

The "Characters with direct personal ties to the hero are always the strongest" trope irritates me so much.

Well, that isn't a trope really being used by the story (in this instance at least) and more it's fans hyping him up.

I would think the prevalence of that trope is why fans hype him up, they're expecting it to come into play here.

I mean, it's probably why Shanks is an emperor at all

It would honestly not surprise me at all if he was stronger than both of them.
