EARGASM.
It's awesome. Bit it was far more techno than I expected.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I think it's sounds like a techno remix of the original theme. Maybe I'm being too critical, but it sounds like a theme for an Avatar that would be living in the time period we are in. I know the Track Team loved to use authentic instruments from Asian cultures (and even created some based off of Asian instruments, like the Tsungi Horn), so it seemed a bit odd to throw in a modern-sounding electric guitar for a show that takes place in the 20s. Yes, there were electric guitars back in the 30s, but they weren't used in the rock-type manner in this "theme song".(Okay, I am aware that the time period in the first Avatar would not have had an orchestra with violins, etc., but that's the standard base for television and movie scores)
Also, the drum track potentially gives it away as being a fake, because it sounds incredibly fake and I would think the Track Team would use a higher quality drum track. The orchestrated parts are beautiful, as well as the ambient sounds at the beginning.
When I think of music from Korra's time period, I think of piano and brass instruments with an orchestra. I have no idea if Asian cultures had access to these instruments in the 20s.

It was somewhat unexpected, but I really like it. I agree that perhaps it's a touch too techno, but I still really like it. I don't know, I personally don't care if it's particularly accurate to the time period as long as it fits the mood of the whole show. It's nice to hear the old show's theme, with a faster, more feminine twist. I'm sure the in-show music (like the nomads' songs or Iroh's music) will be more accurate to the time period. And remember that this is only the Opening Narration theme from the looks of it. There will be lots more music.
Edit: Wait a minute, guys, we don't even know if this is legitimate. The Track Team doesn't seem the type to just remix the original with some techno. They said "Roaring Twenties with an Asian twist", remember? This is pretty good, but it could easily have been a fan creation.
Edit 2: There's nothing on the Track Team's official site, either.
Totally unrelated edit: The Avawiki says the show's going to run for 26 episodes, not twelve.

"War doesn't prove who's right, only who's left." "Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future."Fake, I think. It sounds a bit too Batman Beyond.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Kinda reminds me of this way cool but obcure french comic called "Wake" with a human girl who looks lik a water tribe member being groom by an alien consortium to be an operative because she is immune to psychics

I wonder if they will do a series based on the next earth and fire Avatars.
GOH! JII! RAH!Man, that could be getting into modern-day levels of tech and beyond, considering Avatars tend to live a long time. I would be excited, but yes, I agree that quality should trump quantity.
Actually, the story that I really want to see would be the one about the first Avatar and how this all came to be.
"War doesn't prove who's right, only who's left." "Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future."Been out of touch on this for awhile. All I have to say is Avatar continues to have very hot waterbenders. I approve and can't wait for the new series to start.
Now excuse me....I'll be in my bunk.
You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans.I like it, but the above linked music is a shortened version of a fan-made remix put on You Tube in 2008. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nD2bJjGDSCQ
So... no.
Crossposting from Avatar thread: Nickelodeon is going to be at San Diego Comic-Con,and it's likely there'll be Korra details.
Janet Varney is Korra? She hasn't done much,AFAIK... *googles* ah,Rifftrax, comedy, some acting roles. I'm kinda worried she'll be too goofy.
Thought: Korra = Female Deadpool? HMMM
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. This is new to you? We learned about the cast list months ago.
Regardless, I am hyped for whatever they show at Comic-con. As long as it's not another delay.
JK Simons is in this cast, apparently. Same JK Simmons as Dr. Schoda, Mr. McGuff, and J. Jonah Jameson?
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."That theme is really nice. Yeah, more techno than I would have imagined or would have liked, but even so, it's a good theme.
No, we've covered this before, that's fake.
Fake, huh? Well, that's what I get for skimming, then.
In regards to Comic-Con, it should be interesting to see what is revealed. Maybe a teaser trailer?
I really hope so. D= I can't wait to see at least a little bit of animated New Avatar goodness (Please don't link me to that line test from a while back).
I can't believe, we only have like, a year left after we found out about this a year ago. Time has flown like nothing!
And now I can't wait.
All of time and space, anywhere and everywhere, any star that ever was. Where do you want to start?
