So, Kuvira FINALLY started acting like a good, terrifying villain. And Poor Bolin. Eh, at least he got to Lava Bend And it's still as overpowered as it was last season.
This episode had a lot of awesome things.
-Kuvira going in full tyrant mode.
-Korra trying to be diplomatic. It failed but at least she did her best.
-Bolin's lavabending.
-Zhu Li really being a "cold, ruthless war machine". And I agree with those who say she is faking to rescue Varrick and Bolin later. That's awesome too. And I LOVED the scene in the train. Love is in the air...
-Su is apparently going to assesinate Kuvira. She can be even more ruthless than her mother and sister put together O.O
I hope the Korra vs Kuvira next episode will be so awesome as it seems. And I want to see Zhu Li and Toph trying to rescue their loved ones to the same time and working together kicking asses and taking names. It would be perfect.
Now, Batar Jr... The guy doesn't deserve a spanking, he deserves a boulder right to his face. Couldn't he telling his family his issues, whatever those are? Come on, he is one of the few lucky people in the avatarverse without absent or crappy parents!

His problem is being heavily indoctrinated and brainwashed by his hot girlfriend.
Who wants to bet Bolin helps Varrick break out via lava bending, because metal is just earth that doesn't have much earth left in it... but it's enough for him to make it lava.
Add me on the list of people who think Zhu Li is just pretending and will save Varrick later. It might even be a ploy so that she can get word out about the superweapon.
Also Kuivra's reasoning in the flashback sounded like Sozin's. I hope that gets mentioned in show.
People are mirrors. If you smile, a smile will be reflected. So Hiroshi turned into George Lucas while he was in prison.
I guess in a way, this is sort of Suyin's fault for refusing to step up.
Wow, Bataar Jr. is a real shitstain.
Don't blame Bataar Jr., not every kid is lucky enough to get Unalaq for a father.
"I hasten to interject that I have potentially time-sensitive data that merits immediate consideration." - VaarsuviusYeah, Baatar Jr. is kind of terrible. At least Kuvira was thinking for herself, he seems to just have an ego problem and mindlessly doing whatever I assume the first hot girl to really give him a chance says.
Can we please, PLEASE, stop with the "Unalaq is such a good dad" Running Gag that we seem to have in this thread? It's not even funny and it's such a Forced Meme. Besides, within the show itself, Jinora yells at Unalaq that Tenzin's a much better father than Unalaq will ever be (y'know, just casually not caring that his son is about to die and goes on to the Spirit World because For the Evulz).
So, yeah, I'm getting really tired of this shitty Forced Meme.

You'd appreciate the meme better if you had a dad like Unalaq.
You're not doing a very good job of making me less angry.
I think it's still kinda funny
Oh really when?I don't care for most memes to begin with. The repetition something need to become a mean always makes me tired of it.
I know I'm the only one who tearbend along with Asami
Anyway, I really liked the episode a lot! Looks like next week's gonna be a real doozy. Varrick and Zhu Li!! Zhu Li kicking ass in the mecha! Zhu Li and Varrick's Almost Kiss! Bolin completely wrecking those two mechs by lavabending the hell out of them! Awesome stuff. Looking forward to some Korra vs. Kuvira action next week.
Also, Hirosho Sato aged up a LOT in prison, wow.
Anyone think that the Spirit Vine superweapon's gonna come back to bite Kuvira, especially if Zhu Li's now apparently working on it for her? (which I don't buy for a second, actually.
I love how Bolin spends basically the entire first two thirds of the episode straddling the line between incredibly perceptive and incredibly oblivious.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Asami seems to be forgetting that her dear old father tried to murder her. He's also a demented evil genius who was an integral part of a terrorist movement, but the trying to murder her part should really be sticking with her. Why isn't Hiroshi Sato in chains with at least one bender or armed guard near him at all times? Or, you know, dead?
"I hasten to interject that I have potentially time-sensitive data that merits immediate consideration." - VaarsuviusCause he's just some fat old dude without any sort of abilities beyond being a capitalist.
Oh really when?Asami didn't forget. She clearly states in her first meeting with Hiroshi that he ruined any chance of a father-daughter bond with her because of his actions. Hiroshi seems to feel some regret for his actions though, which is surprising.

She hasn't forgotten or forgiven anything, that was made very clear.
As to you second question, because he's not a threat without a mechatank or something, he's not the Hulk. He's not going to suddenly kill everyone around him if a bender isn't there and there was also a guard there both times.

Hey look, Brolin learned Treebending!

She's clearly not remembering that well if by the end of the episode she's playing board games with the old bastard and buying his 'oh, I'm so regretful' act.
"I hasten to interject that I have potentially time-sensitive data that merits immediate consideration." - VaarsuviusOooh, fear the out-of-shape, late middle-aged man with no combat training or physical abilities! Seriously, I think they'll be fine as long as he doesn't have access to a mecha-tank. And maybe check in every once in a while to make sure he's not secretly doing gym courses in his cell.
As much reason Asami has for never wanting to speak to her dad again (which she said was her intention), it's not all that simple. We saw that before the Equalist crisis, they had a very close, loving relationship. Hiroshi was quite possibly her closest confidant she had in her life, and we saw clearly that his betrayal scarred her in ways that she still hadn't gotten over in seasons two or three. Dismissing his apology out of hand isn't something she can do lightly, even if it is justifiable.
Yeah, I feel that if Zhu Li really was going to betray Varrick, then she would have had a more angry or betrayed look after their AlmostKiss.
