Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha

NGE also was a monster hit, much bigger than the whole of the Nanoha franchise. That isn't a really good comparison either.

The closest you can equate to it is

Nanoha = Negima

Force = UQ Holder

It really left the Magical Girl genre, and even dropped the name in the title, for something more akin to Bleach and well alienated its fanbase and failed to grab another.

Force was actually being ghost written by Kubo, and the real reason it's on hiatus is so he can focus on Bleach's supposed last arc.

Today's the day. Episode one of Vivid airs in a little over and hour.

Any websites simulcasting it?

Crunchyroll isn't to my knowledge.

EDIT: Funimation isn't either, which is odd considering I believe they own the rights to the rest of the franchise. Or at least the first two seasons.

Actually thinking about it if it's not being simulcast then its probably not going to get fansubbed either, since most fansubbers seem to just rip the simulcast translations rather than doing their own.

the problem is that nobody gives a damn to the Nanoha franchise.Neither Strikers nor the movies have ever been licensed in any form,not even for streaming,so I don't see why it would be different with Vivid.

So yeah, we're buggered.

And more precisely, the franchise may be of somewhat dodgy legality (or even illegal) in certain jurisdictions.

The franchise as a whole, or some of its installments? Because I can't see why they'd consider StrikerS as unwholesome enough to be illegalized.

At this rate, I might be better off watching it raw.

I was hoping that Vivid would pick it up because you know, Nanoha ViVid, but it seems like no one's bothering at the moment.

My guess is that those people were trying to help me out, so let me just say that it's alright now because a fairly decent subbing group just released ep 1. Not gonna mention any names since that's probably against the rules.

I don't think that thump was really justified, but eh....

I DO hope the transformations get a bit shortened as we go on. It's a bit skeezy.

The transformation was the best part of the episode though. I don't really care how sleazy it is if it remains well animated/drawn.

Amusingly enough, I started watching Nanoha As again, and just watched the episode where Nanoha and Fate get their upgraded devices. Nanoha's full Transformation Sequence, followed immediately by Fate's full Transformation Sequence, complete with Barbie Doll Anatomy naked little girls. I realize it's a genre convention, and there's some Values Dissonance involved (Japan tends to associate nudity with purity, which isn't a Western thing), but it's still something I could do without.

Then do not watch the movies. No Anime Anatomy is present in it.

Watched Nanoha Vivid, and I'd say the it was worth the wait. Also, I'm about the only guy I know that openly loves Vivid, so yeah.

Vivio's transformation was cool but a bit long. Then again, we'll probably never see it again. Her interactions with Nanoha, Fate and her friends were quite adorable.

I'm a guy, and I like ViVid. For all the action in the tournament arc.

Rio's match is gonna be epic animated.
