I really want to create a general discussion here about the show. IMO The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy is by far one of the best animated series of all time (or at least the beginning seasons were). It was probably the most kid-unfriendly ideas for a kid's tv show, and yet still managed to be one of the most malarious Western Animated cartoons out there (nearly tied with Zim).

Would't call it one of the best. It was pretty uneven, in my opinion, but when it was on, it was on. "Wishbones" would have to be my favorite, particularly Pudd'n's rabbit.

It was much better than Codename Kids Next Door, and I was bitter for a while that KND won the whole "vote for our new show" thing instead of Billy and Mandy, at least until they got their own show anyway.

I didn't really like it much at first TBH. Even later on it was just okay rather than great. And this was coming from someone who very much enjoyed the pilot.

I always hated how Mandy would be a total bitch and always get her way. It ruined the show for me especially earlier on when it was particularly bad.

The early seasons were just meh in my opinion. It was good, but not great. I liked the more strange and fourth wall breaking episodes most.

I think "Keeper of the Reaper" was my favorite episode. Especially the song. Fred Fredburger's non-sequiter bit about nachos was especially hilarious simply because it came out of nowhere.

By far my favorite episodes were the Thromnambular episode (Wishbones, right?), the one where Billy needs to get his eyes fixed, and whichever one it was where Billy runs into the cannibalistic Pinocchio.

  • Optometrist: "I'd suggest laser eye surgery."
  • Billy: "What's that?"
  • Optometrist: <Holds up giant laser cannon> "All we do is take this little laser beam, and zap your eyes until you can see better!" <Laser cannon makes menacing powering up noises>
  • Cut to Billy running away screaming.

The one where Billy is shrunk and the Dinobinoids come to life is one of my all-time favorites.

Grim-"Hey Milkshakes, whatcha up to?"

Dinobinoids (hiding under Milkshakes)-"Off to destroy all that is good... I mean, meow."

That one was pretty good too.

Boogie: If you don't stop complaining I'll have to give employee of the month to... that guy. (cut to Fred Fredburger)

One of the better shows that was on around this time, in my opinion.
