Alain: I see. I suppose every land has its own traditions then.

Abel: Indeed.

Titania: I just call them all "weirdos".

Alain: I am a warlock. I harness the the fury and wrath within every creature born of the magicks of the land and the will of the Devourer, and make it mine own to use against the true enemies of the world.

Abel: -to Titania- I don't mind being a weirdo if it means I can fire a microwave beam from my staff.

-to Alain- Impressive.

I just learn the ways of the universe and how to bend them to my will.

Alain: So, you follow the will weaver tradition.

Abel: That's your name for it?

Alain: Yes.

Abel: Then I guess that's what I am.

Titania: Fair enough.

...Man, you guys aren't anything like the mages I'm familiar with.

Abel: -to Titania- Might as well ask you what they're like, then.

Alain: That is a subject I will ask as well, out of intellectual curiosity.

Titania: They're human mages, so they're the same size as all of you.

They're a bit... odd, I guess you could say. One of them channels magic through his skateboard, for example.

Abel: Through his skateboard.

Alain: A what?

Titania: A wooden board with wheels on it, basically.

@Abel: That is correct. Humans are strange creatures indeed. I'm sure I'll ever totally understand them.

Alain: That seems rather impractical.

Titania: That's what I thought, too. But apparently, it works. And apparently, he finds skateboarding on me amusing. :|

Abel: -to Titania- Gee, thanks.

Titania: I mean no offense, but that is just my opinion. Humans are just so... different from dragons in a lot of ways.

Abel: That is a very fair point, though.

You're bigger, you can fly without thaumic assistance, you can breathe fire...

Titania: That is right. And in addition to the physical difference, there are cultural ones as well. Humans have a more complicated system of governance known as democracy, which does not acknowledge royalty or nobility. It's quite strange to someone like me, a princess.

Abel: I think a few nations on earth used to have monarchies. This was back before the Industrial Revolution, for the most part.

Titania: Odd. I wonder what made them stop?

Abel: I can't say why. I suppose regular people wanted more of a say in how their country was run? They wanted to feel like they were at least partially in control of their fate, rather than at the behest of somebody who might not even like them, or view them as anything other than labor.
