Couple options. One, enclose the image URL in [[double square brackets]] so that it's a link to the image rather than trying to embed it. Two, upload the image to TVT using this and then just post the bare URL, which will embed the image.

What exactly is the purpose of the Sandbox? The name made me think a dumping ground for ideas and concepts, but I'm kind of lost at what's even going on here. Sorry to be wasting your time, but since I'm here where would I put up a manual for a project I want other Tropers to see?

The Sandbox is generally for testing formatting, seeing if you can break the markup, trying to remember obscure bits of code, etc.. It isn't a thread for reading. Depending on the kind of manual it is, you could use an offsite site like http://pastebin.com for very basic text hosting, or you could probably make it a wiki page at Sandbox.Kkutwar (troper sandbox pages can be for just about anything).
