Just post whatever comes to mind.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.
If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.
Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

If it makes you feel any better, Americans get hit with this all the time. "What, this video just happens to have a song owned by Victor/Pony Canyon/Sony Music/etc.? Sorry, Americans, you don't get to watch this."

The whole concept in general is irritating. It's like "Yeah! Let's put our content up on the net for everyone to see! Oh, except those people. Screw 'em."
Everybody's all "Jerry's old and feeble" till they see him run down a skyscraper and hijack a helicopter mid-flight.Stuff like that is what encourages pirating.
Usually that kind of thing is due to the irritating tangle known as distribution rights.
Still horridly annoying of course.
it's either real or it's a dream there's nothing that is in betweenNear as I can tell, distribution rights get balkanized because companies aren't interested in bothering to sell to every region that exists, but they can find someone who is interested in buying the right to sell to the regions they don't. And if they don't find that somebody, that region is just out of luck.
It became Like This before the internet and is pretty much obsolete now, but it's Like This now and it's more lucrative to just sell international rights off than distribute themselves.
Fresh-eyed movie blogBut you end up with a situation where people end up pirating, not necessarily because they just feel like it, but because they have no legal methods of accessing the content they want.

Everybody's all "Jerry's old and feeble" till they see him run down a skyscraper and hijack a helicopter mid-flight.A thing that most companies will not say openly is that piracy is considered in margins and if a company does something that causes piracy it's usually because they've decided it's an acceptable loss in that area.
Now of course there are plenty of companies that are badly run where this is not the case. I'm talking about ones that are actually decent at business decisions.
it's either real or it's a dream there's nothing that is in betweenRemember when HBO was literally encouraging people to share HBO Go accounts, which is only different from piracy because they get to track what shows are accessed how often?
Fresh-eyed movie blogPretty much, yeah - thing is I would usually love to support things I like, but when there's no legal way of me doing so... well...
"Leftover items still have value!"Jesus Christ so this morning we woke to find one of our pear trees came down last night,we are so damn lucky it avoided the house,
New theme music also a boxOh, Crap! I had something similar happen at my dad's old house. Lightning struck a huge cottonwood, and half of it landed in the backyard, inches away from the roof.
I've been thinking of my childhood and that house a lot lately, ever since my stepmom died. The condo where she was living was like a freaking time capsule. Her aesthetic, her taste, and her style had not changed AT ALL. She still had vases full of dried plants, a buttload of animal print clothing, flowers and feathers and flourishes, knick knacks everywhere...it made me feel like I was 12 years old again, back at Dad and Stepmom's house. In a way, it was comforting.
Sorry to hear that! I'm glad there wasn't any damage! My family became the source of schadenfreude in our old neighborhood after 3 trees fell on our house in 4 years. (Though amazingly we were one of the few houses without damage during Hurricane Sandy)

The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.Forget what I said about the little knobby joystick on my New Nintendo 3DS not working the other day; it's working just fine now.
Why do I bet that New Gundam Breaker is going to come out in the Fall?
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...i've never liked how Faries are sometimes treated as elves with wings,I prefer to think of them separate mythological beings

I'm debating if I should make my children's book young adult.
Apparently this version of Hyde looks like a Jojo's character. According to people who have seen that anime and I guess understand it."Skype is not a replacement for your telephone and can't be used to make emergency calls."
Did that really happen often enough for them to make a rule about that?
I like to keep my audience riveted.Every internet telephone service has to warn you about emergency calls. You can get a subscription to register your VOIP number with a fixed address if you want for most services, but for Skype all I'm seeing is about Skype for Business.
Fresh-eyed movie blogElectronic-Tragedy asked how she could tell her roommate that humping her boyfriend and having friends over is starting to be annoying.
I realize I suggest fire as the solution to all problems...but have you considered fire as the solution to your problems? Nothing sends a message like lighting someone's bed on fire.
I kind of want to join the military but I cry too easily.
