Just post whatever comes to mind.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.
If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.
Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

"Thanks for the lesson. But I don't need you to tell me who I am."Burnout Takedown is the best racing game. Watching as your flaming wreck of a car sails in slow motion into the back of the guy who hit you, taking you both out, will never NOT be funny
Everybody's all "Jerry's old and feeble" till they see him run down a skyscraper and hijack a helicopter mid-flight.I participated in a video game study when I was in college where they had volunteers play Burnout Paradise for some amount of time in a free-form mode (drive around the city trying to smash into the red billboards!) for some length of time and then asked them questions, which turned out to be about how much we noticed the product placement in the game.
Me, I didn't notice any of it until I crashed into a Gillette van and got a slow, beautiful, flaming close-up of The Best A Man Can Get flying through the air.
Fresh-eyed movie blogParadise wasn't as fun, for me. Takedown felt more frantic and fun to play. Also i never really noticed the product placement. Too busy trying not to die or watching things go boom

Everybody's all "Jerry's old and feeble" till they see him run down a skyscraper and hijack a helicopter mid-flight.Ooooh I love Burnout games. But then again I love racing games of all kinds....
....Well accept Mario Kart in the recent years. I absolutely adored Mario Kart's older games but the new ones feel more like a test of frustration
Formerly known as Bleddyn And I am feeling like a ghost Resident Perky GothMorning.

Mario Kart is fun, but my older bro is a savant of all versions.

Burnout 3: Takedown is the absolute best. Too bad it had rather lackluster multiplayer.
Revenge was good as well, it added to the carnage but kinda lost the best edge by allowing the players to crash more into other cars.
I bought Paradise off a Humble Bundle years ago, but still haven't touched it. It's on my list.
You know what I used to play all the time back in the day?
Midnight Club, SSX, Wipeout, and City Of Heroes. Those were simpler days....
Also...missed ya Gwen. Nice to have you back

Formerly known as Bleddyn And I am feeling like a ghost Resident Perky GothThe multiplayer was great fun when I was a kid. Although you have to imagine two siblings in absolute hysterics, singing the only part of "Lazy Generation" we knew ("We are the lazy generation", that is) and going "Oooooh" at the crashes and such.
It didn't have much to do with the actual quality of the multiplayer mode itself, probably...

Retail is terrifying if you aren't a customer.
It pays good, though!
Eh? What time is it for you?

Ohh, it's just past 11pm here

Why are customers so obsessed with a certain kind of item
If a troper or online writer's work that's so good gets adapted into a large medium like a movie, game, comic book or even anime, then it will be a glorious day for the TV Tropes page and geekdom in general.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.Spaztique does tv tropes, though DITR is a walfas series.
Probably not super duper big, but it's pretty good.

I had this random thought recently.
In Greek (and by extension Roman) mythology, Queen Niobe had 14 children (seven sons and seven daughters). For some strange reason, she thought that somehow made her cooler than the goddess Leto, who only had two (Apollo and Artemis).
Even in ancient times, people had conflicting ideas about what the ideal number of children for a family is.
I like to keep my audience riveted. Not really a conflict, having a ton of kids was a virtue because of mad high child mortality.
