Well, I kinda want to watch it and I wanted to ask if it's any good.

Hmm...I watched Original Series to DP when I was a kid, so clearly my opinions are not reliable. Now, XY, on the other hand, I've watched like, what 25 episodes? I haven't picked it up for reasons I don't know, but I don't think it was because I hated it or anything. I actually like XY. I guess it evokes nostalgia and feels like a light-hearted adventure story, which I don't mind at all.

Also, it's just utterly adorable seeing Serena and her big crush on Ash. YMMV on this one, though.

I've only watched it for about three minutes and I already want to kill Ash.

Which one are you talking about?

But then again, whichever it is, the sentiment is understandable, depending on the perspective.

The anime isn't all that great, but it gets better later on, from what I remember. This was though admittedly because I'd been playing blue and yellow consistently when not working.

XY is probably the best so far from what I've seen.

Eh, the Pokemon anime was enjoyable as a kid, but I don't think it really holds up.

I admit to watching XY...for shipping. XP

Seriously Ash, if you break Serena's heart, I will break you. Well, I obviously can't, so I'm going to angrily imagine doing so.

[up]Try watching it when you're in a profession which is quite degrading and you need some innocent fun. Pokemon's anime is seriously good for that.

Agreed on the innocent fun part.

I actually watched XY as a slice of life-ish adventure romance story.

Looks pretty fun

Ash has never permanently stuck with any of his female companions. Granted, I don't know how strong the shipping is in this series, but he's kind of a player. A perpetually ten year-old player.

Is there a magical girl show that DOESN'T have lesbian subtext in some form?

Even going by the show's chronology, Ash should have been 12 by the third movie.

I dunno, 75+ is equiv to the maximum possible degree classification.
