I see this petering out when Phantom Menace bombs because it's Phantom Menace. Now, if they'd put the ORIGINAL TRILOGY out first, they could carry through that.
Can someone explain to me how you turn 2D film into 3D film without it looking weird and/or crappy?
Da Rules excuse all the inaccuracy in the world. Listen to them, not me.Can we hunt down and kill George Lucas now?

You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans. Why do I feel like invoking "Don't Like, Don't Read", or watch, or whatever? I'm not a huge Star Wars fan in general, and yet I still find the prequel bashing dull and tedious ten years down the line.
^^Because as we all know, the latter two prequels had incredibly low box office takings. ... I'm just saying.
Bla bla flame shield.

Piranha didn't look bad after its conversion.
Anyways, I'll probably catch the original trilogy this way (never have seen them in a theatre). I'll probably also see the first Shrek and Harry Potter movies if they are reissued.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Pirahna was always meant to be converted to 3D, however. I can't imagine how good a thirty year old movie would look...
Then again, Revenge of the Sith's opening space scene could be incredible.
I've got two guns pointed west and a broken compass.^I think he means that it was filmed in 2D, and then carefully converted. That's what I'm gathering from the Wikipedia page.
That's what I meant too. Star Wars was never filmed with the intention of converting it.
I've got two guns pointed west and a broken compass.(ahem)

IN THRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

sorry 'bout that.

Meh, the Toy Story Double Feature was pretty cool without looking completely weird or crappy. Personally, I could care less about the films being in 3D, just the fact that the Original Trilogy will be released on the big screen again is enough for me to geek about.

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Released once a year, starting in 2014, after the prequel trilogy.
So the prequels will all bomb so badly that we NEVER see the original trilogy, and thus dies Star Wars.

You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans. This will depend on how good the conversion process works. (For all the criticism the prequels got, they still raked in the money. Good ol's completists).
This isn't a must have for me, but if I hear they're decent, I might go see the originals.
The owner of this account is temporarily unavailable. Please leave your number and call again later.God why can't Lucas fuck off already like why can't he just rerelease the original non-fucked with films without a bunch of dumb cgi getting in the way of every single scene then seal himself in a cave for the rest of his life.
He is worse then Uwe Boll could ever hope to be. The quality of Lucas' film's is inversely proportional to his own personal involvement and I hope Plinkett eats him.
He shall crumble beneath the brunt of my nerd rage!
Edit: This post was rereleased to be closer to my true original vision of how I intended my fans to read it.
Pretend there's a bunch of cgi aliens and stuff distracting you from this post and occasionally blocking it completely.

Pixar can cheat with the original Toy Story, since they (presumably) still have the CGI models, so they can just re-render it as 3D.
^ Boll is doing a project about Auschwitz. Even Lucas doesn't step down to that.
Da Rules excuse all the inaccuracy in the world. Listen to them, not me.I am not a fan of either trilogy, but do people find all this whining witty? Though I do at least partially agree with the "personal involvement" thing.

Hooray! More things for nerds to whine about!

I dnnno, I think I must be one of the few people who actively didn't hate the prequel series. Sure they were stupid, bad acting and were based on a plot just pathetic as my dead tomato garden, but at least it had some So Okay, It's Average elements (namely the special effects). All I can say for the prequels is that the 3D better be distracting enough that I don't have to pay attention the the "story".

They should really remake the old trilogy of Star Wars film.
Before anyone takes out their flaming lances and pitchforks, let me add that I realise Star Wars is a groundbreaking cult classic, and that messing with it is bad.
However, if you look at the final fight in Revenge of the Sith between Obi-wan and Anakin and then look at how they fight in, I think, A New Hope. It's just some old men trying to act like they know what they're doing.
COME ON THE MARTIAL ARTS, FLIPPING, STICK HITTING OF REVENGE OF THE SITH!!!

Inspirational quote against powerful image of nature.Yes but while Revenge and the Prequels in general had nice fight scenes they have no emotion. The final fight in Revenge goes on FOREVER, and the fight in Phantom is just boring(flashy but empty). The Original Trilogy, while lame graphics wise, actually has emotion in its fight scenes.
You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans.^^ <.< I'm probably the only person who thinks they should remake the prequels to be more stylistically like the original and less like the Expanded Universe.
I think the Force was more interesting when it was vague and only invoked every now and then. The Emperor shooting lightning out of his hands at Luke after everyone else has been fighting with blasters and lightsabers is more impressive than, say, EVERY SINGLE FIGHTER leaping fifty feet into the air, Force shoving shit at each other, using amazing Force reflexes to deflect blaster bolts with their lightsabers, etc. etc. Luke and Vader's lightsaber duel...I'm not going to say it had more emotion, because it didn't. It's not about emotion. It was more real, is what it was. They didn't need to be clashing sabers over a pit of lava, or throwing the ENTIRE SENATE at each other. The Force didn't need to be THAT POWERFUL.
Obi Wan and Anakin looked like two old men having a careful duel. That's exactly what they were, back when being a Jedi Knight meant being a well-trained warrior who understands the Force and how it weaves through the universe, and how to employ it from time to time, instead of outright being a sorceror who uses space magic to shred the battlefield.
I blame the EU for overpowering the Force, and I wish the movies would stop listening to it.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.^Vadar fighting Luke in the old trilogy was full of ham. The original line of 'No... I AM YOUR FATHER' and Luke's Big "NO!" just added the cheese to it.
Back then it was groundbreaking stuff, but now... something more is needed.
NINJA LIGHTSABER FLIPPING STICK SHIT!

Star Wars to be converted to 3D, and other films may follow.
Personally I don't see this ending well. I can't think of many scenes in the listed films that would look well if 3D effects were to be added, and if some of the previous films that had 3D bits tacked on are any indication of possible quality, well...
