Well, it's a fight over resources as part of a much larger struggle. A major part, as well.
The war was not started over resources, but over the Federation wanting reunification and the Centauri... I forget what they did, maybe it was nothing. Either way.
Either way, it's retarded.
TVTropes Nuzlocke Thread. - Arceus Help Us All.I assumed the Earth Federation was viciously expanionist and relied on external enemies to justify their authority. And after a few hundred years of war, the Cents became not a lot better.
Lock: What? Why?
Faux: More or less, judging by the general concensus. Perhaps a little less Grimdark than you're making it sound, but still.

The Centauri are on the verge of electing a warmonger to the office of Prime Minister.
Or am I the only one who kept track of that?
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....I haven't forgotten Ilwax Landsteiner, no worries. Not that I can do anything with him, but it's the thought that counts.
I'm currently researching humongous mecha drawings so I can learn to draw them.
Maybe I'll do a rough concept of an AMF, who knows?
TVTropes Nuzlocke Thread. - Arceus Help Us All.It would be nice to have a rough idea of their appearance, considering we've so far only said 'they're mostly humanoid'.
Since I'm basing my image of them on Armored Core and Eureka Seven, while others (read: Everyone but me :|) are basing them off of Gundam... We probably need to find our own kind of style.
...
Researching? Where?

Well, I've noticed there are two typical styles, rounded or angular.
Most Gundams (not mobile suits, Gundams) are angular. The Zeon suits are mostly rounded.
From what I've seen of Armored Core, they are rounded.
I for one prefer the angular style for real robots, so the ones I design at least will look that way.
I know the major buzzparts for Gundams ("V-horns", mouth vents, angular eyes and the infamous "High-heel feet") so I will avoid those.
Mostly DA and Danbooru.

TVTropes Nuzlocke Thread. - Arceus Help Us All.I think you could get away with the "V-Horns", Lockon. Super Robot Taisen did.

(◕ ヮ ◕)ノArmored Core, being a mecha customization game, has basically every style in it (there are plenty of blatant gundam ripoffs in there, including the original shield in the older games) but yea, I see what you mean.
Re Dead: ...SRW is made by the people who own Gundam, isn't it?
edited 26th Jan '11 2:17:32 PM by Hydrall
If it was, I wasn't aware.

(◕ ヮ ◕)ノI dunno either. All I know about SRW is
- It's awesome beyond all belief [Citation Needed]
- It involves lots of series, especially Gundam
- It's never coming here except for the OG.
Banpresto, the company that makes SRW, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Namco Bandai, which owns the Gundam franchise.
TLDR: Yes.
There, posted.
Locking you up on radar since '09So what are we doing with Monsieur Landsteiner?
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly...."The war was not started over resources, but over the Federation wanting reunification and the Centauri... I forget what they did, maybe it was nothing. Either way."
Wait, hold on. When was this decided?
^Depends on what he does if he wins office. And we're French now?

No. And if any of you just happen to be, just do a silly accent.
Ya know what? Henceforth all Centauri are Californians.

"Monsieur" is a cool word.
Also, I thought it was established that the Centauri were a blend of a ton of cultures? Use of "monsieur" wouldn't be that far-fetched.
I haz an ideya, but I need to ask Hydrall about it.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....How many Centauri players are Californian?
My other signature is a Gundam. One, as far as I know.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Two if Commando Dude's page is accurate.
Remember waay back when we were discussing why the war started? That was part of the conclusion, if I remember correctly; the Federation, after its formation from the ruined Earth, set out to bring all the colonies back under its wings, and then they found the Centaurians, who did not want to be reunified. Eventually, the Federation tried to force the issue, and war was sparked.
I doubt the reason is well-remembered any more IC, since its been so long.
Also, shoot, Spain.

Really?
I was under the impression that this was just a fight over resources.
Also, it's the One Year War IN DEEP SPACE.
