Better, but assuming the Xenos thing and the Black armor means he's part of the Deathwatch, thing is we've already got a Deathwatch Space Wolf set to appear.

Man, in that case can I change him to a normal Librarian from the Imperial Fists Chapter (still the same Equipment/Poewers).

[up]In that case, I`ll go for a Blood Angels Librarian (still Deathwatch).

[up][up]I was thinking about him entering from a Warp Portal that had gone wrong.

How much am I supposed or required to know?

I know that Gensokyo is a splinter of Terra that has recently been found and an Inquisitorial team and Space Marines from the Judicators Chapter have been dispached, lead by Brother-Captain Orwell and Chapter-Master Zolomon.

The population of Gensokyo are adept at the use of Sorcery with the use of Spell Cards. Recent bad weather and threats as well as Xenos presence has caused certain upheaval.

The Lady Governor is momentarily in an alliance with the Astartes and Inquisitorial Forces in order to better combat the threats. That`s it in a nutshell.

I see no problem with you coming on board. Just know that:

1). Be sure to discuss things with us before implementing crazy ideas. Poor communication can end in bad situations.

2). Don't go nuts with your characters' strength and powers. Fighting a God-Mode Sue is NOT fun. Just ask Makuta how that went.

Regarding powers: a rule of thumb is that one-on-one, a Touhou character will likely completely destroy a 40K one.

Righty, I'm giving this guy the all clear. He can roll on in with the Deathwatch team Takashi had planned out, ask him about the details on the rest of those guys. I would take this chance to read up on the adventures of the other character groups while you wait, and simply stay tuned.

^ Dude. That depends on the power level of the combatants in question. Greater Daemons, Daemon Princes, high-grade psykers, large warmachines and the likes can all be incredibly dangerous foes even to the Touhou chars with incredible powers. The one character we don't like to involve in conflicts is Yukari, due to the fact that she can essentially toy with reality as she pleases with her border powers.

I'm interested in this RP, but I don't know what to decide on creating a Chaos or an Imperial Guard Character...

What are the limits / possibilities for these characters?

Some parts of it, but not yet. I need to look at the first RP fully in order to truly understand what's going on. Currently on page 15, so I need a long time before I get started. (I will edit this post for PROGRESS!)

Also, I should read the Trope Page for the RP after reading the RP, and the Lexicanum of the far future.

Your character will get more screentime overall if they're on the 'good guy' team (Gensokyo and the Imperium) than if they are Chaos. Not to say that you can't have two characters, you'll just have to find a way to work them into a plotline.

I'll see if I can come up with a super-condensed recap of everything that went on sometime soon.

This is going to take a while. Essentially...

In The Beginning...

The game began with a massive cosmological occurrence. The Hakurei Barrier itself fractured, although no-one in Gensokyo was aware of the fact. A planet in the Segmentum Tempestus was simultaneously overwritten and instantaneously terraformed into Gensokyo, it's moon becoming... The Moon.

This immediately got the collective attention of the Imperium Of Man, the Ork of WAAAGH! EGULL STOMPAH, the Chaos Space Marines of the Brotherhood of Darkness(led by the daemon Prince Maximus Gargoth), and a contingent of necrons. The Gensokyoans, taken unawares by the sudden landings and attacks, were badly hit. The Necrons razed the Human Village (although evacuations were successful), the Imperium set up a field base in the Forest of Magic, and the Orkz raided and occupied the Scarlet Devil Mansion while Remilia was occupied fighting Gargoth.

There are, at this point, a few non-Touhou characters of note: Inquisitor Arcturus, the Inquisitorial overseer and chief commander of the Imperial forces; Commissar Isaiah Graille, a commissar attached to the Imperial Guard on the planet; Chapter Master Zolomon, head of the Steel Judicators Marines working for the Imperium, and the aforementioned Gargoth.

There is much fighting and general mayhem, especially when a Tyranid Hive Fleet shows up. This new threat is delayed when a Brotherhood of Darkness vessel performs a Kamikaze attack on the main hive ship, leaving the monsters leaderless. Gargoth corrupts a large force of youkai and feral tyranids before he is slain on the battlefield.

The Foundation of the Alliance, and the Machinations of Tzeentch

The plot really starts, however, when Arcturus sends an assassin to kill Eirin Yagokoro. Her being immortal, he fails, but she is left barely able to stand. Zolomon, eager to form an alliance with the Gensokyoans so that they can fight off the other attackers, has her handed over to a vessel belonging to the newly-arrived Wings Of Fate Chapter of Space Marines. This quickly turns out to be a trap; the Wings are in fact Thousand Sons (led by the Lord Of Change, Tyranthraxus), and instead of healing her they transfer her soul into a set of armour. She escapes, and is forced to return planetside to aid her mistress, Kaguya, who has been struck down by a genestealer. Ignoring offers of aid from Tyranthraxus and the Necrons' Deciever, she performs hasty combat surgery on her using a knife and a bottle of high-alcohol sake.

New Arrivals

The Tau then appear in a Manta gunship, led by Shas'El Kai'Ro, son of Shas' O Kais from the Dawn Of War series Note

. To prevent further infighting, the Imperials grudgingly agree to team up with the Tau.

A group of eldar also appear, and Arcturus, perturbed, orders the capture and interrogation of an eldar. He succeeds, and discovers they have arrived to claim an ancient eldar artefact: the Codex of Hakh-Kan'Tarkhos, a repository of eldar lore (otherwise known as Marisa's Mini-Hakkero). The Imperials and Eldar both track Kirisame to Heaven, and set out up the mountain to find her before the other party. At the gate, they clash, only to discover that the Celestials only allow one representative of each faction through. The two farseers leading the eldar (Mac-Essit and Feranel, who is more lenient towards humans) bicker. Mac-Essit, furious and in a moment of weakness, falls to Slaanesh and attacks only for Marisa to come down and One-Hit Kill him with a Master Spark.

Disturbingly, several youkai have fallen to Chaos during the commotion. Chief among them the Khornette, a nameless youkai follower of Gargoth, and Hong Meiling, who succumbs to despair in the ruins of the Scarlet Devil Mansion and falls to Nurgle. The Khornette manages to break into the Netherworld and fish out Gargoth's soul, briefly resurrecting him, but he is then bound and defeated.

The Tyranids return in full force with a new Hive Ship and attack the Moon. They are led by the unique Hive Tyrant known as the Swarmlord. Eventually, their onslaught proves too great, and the Lunar Princesses kill themselves as part of a ritual purging the Moon.

Chain Reaction

The party of Eldar, Tau, and Imperials head to the Geyser Reactor Centre (after being met by Kai'Ro's second-in-command, the Kroot shaper Sval), and meet with Utsuho to investigate the possibility that the Necrons are exploiting the nuclear reactor's bleed-off, realising too late the the place is compromised and the cloaked necrons led by the Deciever, attack. Kai'Ro sacrifices his life by allowing Utsuho to channel her power through his battlesuit. He tears a whole in space-time, and the deceiver is swallowed by the warp. The heroic Shas'Ell is atomized by the intense radiation.

Horrified by Kai'Ro's fate (Kroot culture dictates that the dead only live on in the bodies of those who consume them) and begins wearing his helmet, and doing a disturbingly good impersonation of him at all times to keep his memory alive. Unfortunately, Kai'Ro's overzealous brother sentences him to death, believing that Sval is responsible for Kai'Ro's death. Only the intervention of the others at his court martial is enough to save him. Kais, the judge, is forced to execute his last remaining son, and declares Sval to be Kai'Ro reborn.

The Battle Of The Ancient City and the Introduction of the Plagued One

There is no time to rest; the Tyranids lay siege to the Underground and the Ancient City. After rendezvousing with Inquisitor Thomas and his brainwashed Tau bodyguard, they begin training the Oni to fight before defending the capital. They manage to defeat the intruders, but they capture Yamame Kurodani, converting her into a hideous creature halfway between a girl, a spider, and a venomthrope.

Meanwhile, far away, the Chaos worshipping former Inquisitor Isaac Bickerstaff is informed by the daemon (a Nurglite Greater Daemon known as the Harvester) that he needs to got to Gensokyo and meet Hong Meiling, who he takes as an apprentice. He hi-jacks a ship and makes for the planet, successfully fooling the Imperials into believing he's on their side and picking up Meiling. As the battle for the city rages, he uses a planet-cracker to blow open the cavern ceiling and rain bombs on the battlefield. He is then attacked by Thousand Sons ships and is forced to bail out onto the battlefield with his apprentice.

Hong Meiling reanimates dead Oni and Tyranids to attack the city, but Rin does the same thing and retaliates. Arcturus bumps into Isaac, revealing that the two of them have a long and dark past. In a fight with Suika, Sval, and Arcturus, the two Nurglites are forced to flee the field, but Isaac summons a large force of daemons and starts building a fortress in the Bamboo Forest.

The Reclamation Of The Scarlet Devil Mansion

The Ancient City defended, the Imperials make plans to retake the SDM from the Orkz, facing down opposition from the Orkz and the Mansion's original owners. The Imperials win the Scarlet Sisters and their staff over, and succeed in taking the Mansion back from Warboss Stompah, and his scheming Dragon Herr Doktor.

Remilia and Flandre are attacked by Hrud (a lesser-known 40k alien race) and are aged up to their physical mid teens by exposure to the time-warping creatures.

Arcturus gets another shock from the past: a Slaaneshi daemon known as Lana infiltrates the SDM and attempts to seduce Remilia. When the Inquisitor breaks it up and runs the daemon through, she reveals that she is in fact his wife, Zee, who Bickerstaff had imprisoned and tortured until she turned to Slaanesh to escape. Lana teleports away, leaving him to brood over the issue. He inducts Remilia and Flandre as Inquisitorial Acolytes.

The necrons kidnap Fujiwara no Mokou, and strap her into a massive titan, brainwashing her till she believes she is a necron. The Imperials attack and free her at massive cost. Arcturus' hand is cut off, and Remilia loses an arm. The Tau are eventually forced to perform a massive bombarment, eradicating the necrons but leaving much of the area a smoking glassy crater.

The Red Cyclops

Tyranthraxus, meanwhile, unveils his master plan the moment it comes to fruition: he summons the titanic Daemon Primarch, Magnus The Red onto the planet's surface. However, rather than attacking, the Primarch heads to the Hakugyokurou and tells Yuyuko his life story over a bottle of sake.

Arcturus uses the bought time to call a massive meeting at the Eientei, to win over the Gensokyoans in their entirety. There is much tense political negotiation, but Tyranthraxus rudely gatecrashes and presents a series of arguments to win the assembly over to the side of Chaos. Arcturus quashes his claims with a handy video of a daemon world, and convinces the Gensokyoans that the Imperium is the lesser of two evils. Bickerstaff (via astral projection) then shows up, and explains he has the perfect plan for dealing with Magnus. He was, at one point, researching and attempting to build a device called the 'Immmaterium Engine, that could use warp energy to produce or collect an anti-warp charge. He explains that while it never worked, he knows how to fix it, and that it needs Gensokyoan magic to power.

Informed of Tyranthraxus' failure, Magnus marches on the Imperial, Tau and Gensokyoan base at the Eientei. There is a frantic, frenetic battle while Bickerstaff rigs up his Engine, in the form of a large mecha. Magnus reveals his ace in the hole: as a piece of the original earth (now Terra) he can teleport the planet back to Terra; this will destroy both planets in the process. Mystia Lorelei, however, saves Gensokyo by using her song to distract Magnus at the crucial moment in his spell, buying them enough time for Bickerstaff to arrive. He reveals that one Gensokyoan practitioner must act as the conduit for the weapon, sacrificing their life and soul to focus the magic of the entire population. Shin of the Yako, a OC Kitsune whose son died earlier in the battle, volunteers. Bickerstaff and Shin manage to focus almost all of the Gensokyoan population through through Shin, convert into anti-warp energy, and strike Magnus with it, banishing him.

In the aftermath, the Thousand Sons abandon the planet (save for Tyranthraxus). Bickerstaff allows the Imperial to destroy his engine and Shin dies in peace. Bickerstaff is now in a precarious position: as insurance, he agreed that after Magnus was banished he would face Arcturus in a final duel to the death.

The Fairy Goddess

In the SDM, Sakuya is perturbed when a giant ice golem rises from the lake. She is attacked by it when she goes to investigate, and discovers that it is Cirno, who was among the Youkai corrupted by Khorne. She cuts her way inside the golem and pulled the injured Cirno out. Something intercedes to save her, and she finds herself filled with divine power. Cirno takes up the name Sedna, and becomes goddess of the fairies.

The Resolution of Arcturus' Past

Bickerstaff and Arcturus arrange the duel, on top of a Tau Manta. During the course of the fight, they end up marooned on a Tyranid bio-vessel, where Bickerstaff reanimates a dead Carnifex in an attempt to gain the upper hand. However, his ploy ultimately fails, and Arcturus kills him. However, Bickerstaff gets the last laugh, as, in his final moments, he transfers the daemon in his head into Arcturus'.

Meanwhile, Lana again attempts to subvert Remilia, appearing in her bedchamber through a portal, but is stopped by Remilia and Inquisitor Thomas. They succeed in forcing her back through the portal and following her. They fight her, and discover that the real Zee is being warped and manipulated by a Keeper of Secrets, Laernariel. Remilia fights the monstrosity, and kills it, a feat thought impossible. Zee is pulled back through before the portal collapses.

Arcturus is overjoyed by this turn of events, but Zee is very badly injured. Remilia is forced the turn her into a vampire to save her life. More bizarrely, an apparition of the Emperor himself (his intervention made possible by Gensokyo's magical field) intercedes, and grants her angelic powers.

This, and Sedna's ascendancy, results in a series of conversations about the nature of Gensokyo and Terra. During this conversation, Tewi Inaba reveals that she met the Emperor once, and that he was present at the sealing of Gensokyo.

While Bickerstaff is dead, his prize pupil is not, and Hong Meiling, now called the Empress Of Rot, attacks Heaven and tries to kidnap Sakuya. She fails, but grabs Youmu instead. The assorted members of the Alliance break in to Meiling's labyrinthine lair beneath Bickerstaff's fortress and try to follow her. At the heart of the labyrinth, they find the Empress, who is defeated, and after lapsing back to her original self briefly and begging for death, is executed by a tearful Sakuya.

The Puritans

The Imperial spaceships are hailed by another fleet approaching the system. It seems that the delay in securing the planets, and rumours about the Imperials collaborating with aliens and chaos, have made them extremely suspicious. The fleet is led by Lord Inquisitor Darius Bickerstaff, a hardline puritanical Inquisitor Isaac's estranged father, whom Arcturus had intentionally kept in the dark about his sons' defection. With Darius comes the blank assassin Silon, the Black Templars Commander Marshal Grimbolg, Canoness Isabella of the Order of the Crying Seraph, and Inquisitor Foiridon Branquignol, a bureaucratic brat of an Inquisitor who sees heresy everywhere. Isabella knows Arcturus and Zee, and took up the mission partially because she is worried for Arcturus.

They land, and Darius, while disgusted by what he sees as borderline-heresy, decides to hold a meeting, despite Grimbolg's protests. When Arcturus brings up Isaac's death, however, Bickerstaff freaks out and tries to kill Arcturus. He then somehow misses a point-blank shot, and, believing it to be proof of the Emperor's favour, gives up, declares Arcturus innocent, and goes catatonic with shock.

The Banishment of the Last Daemons on Gensokyo

Arcturus, meanwhile, quietly attempts to work out how to have the Harvester exorcised from his head. This backfires when Darius discovers Arcturus is semi-possessed and rescinds his previous orders and tries to kill Arcturus again. Zee intervenes, and shows the Inquisitor Lord her memories of her torture at Bickerstaff's hands, prompting Darius to once again fall catatonic with shock.

Darius out of the way, Arcturus puts plans into motion to exorcise the Harvester, who is passing the time by tormenting him. This comes to a head when he very nearly forces Arcturus, Zee, and several others, to watch what was done to her. Arcturus swears revenge on the Harvester, and set up the exorcism. Arcturus and Zee engage in a Journey to the Center of the Mind within Arcturus' consciousness, finding a fragment of Bickerstaff Jr.'s psyche guarding a massive cage containing the Harvester. Isaac releases it so it can be thrown out, and battle ensues, Arcturus finally tearing the creature apart with an AA emplacement from his memories.

Meanwhile, another daemon, long forgotten, reappears: Tyranthraxus, cursed not to manifest in full form by Magnus, possesses a suit of Rubric Marine armour and attacks several guardsmen until Eirin realises what is going on, a duel ensues, and the Lord Of Change is finally done away with, sealed within a block of crystal.

The Tyranids

All other threads tied up, only one enemy remains: the Tyranids. They have, while everything else was going on, taken over the Hakurei Shrine and forced Reimu out, the loss of the shrine crippling her abilities. The commanders put together a tactical meeting on how to take back the shrine and destroy the last enemy remaining.

Eventually, a plan is forged: they will launch a vessel, the Shaft Of Ulysses, and re-enact one of the first events of the game: ram the Hive Ship at full speed, detonate the reactor, and kill the Norn Queen controlling the tyranids. Meanwhile, ground forces (essentially everything that the Alliance has) at the Shrine. Meanwhile, the Swarmlord musters the 'Tyranid Elite', a group of highly dangerous unique bioforms, and calls down a Hierophant Bio-Titan.

The Alliance attacks the Shrine, and battle is joined. Arcturus and a group of Imperial Guardsmen warp-bomb a large section of the Hive, destroying it, while the Ulysses destroys the Hive ship. In the pandemonium of battle, Eirin is returned to her original body, and one by one the Elite are destroyed. The Bio-Titan is killed by the Hisoutensoku.

Meanwhile, back at the Eientei, Inquisitor Branquignol finds Darius, rouses him from his catatonia, and the two of them become convinced that Arcturus is a heretic, and Zee's intervention earlier was a psychic attack on Darius. Before Darius makes good his escape, he orders Silon to track down Arcturus and kill him, making his death look like a battlefield accident. He fails, but succeeds in painfully blinding the Inquisitor. Darius, Branquignol, and Silon flee aboard the ship they arrived in, and Darius quietly manipulates the evidence from a distance to avoid implicating himself.

The Endgame

Finally, back on the battlefield Reimu faces down the Swarmlord responsible for the destruction of her Shrine, and after Yukari appears and returns her full powerset, she duels the Swarmlord, finally decapitating him with a chainsword. The swarm falls apart, and the army quickly mops up the remainder of the enemies.

The war is won, but Gensokyo is irrevocably changed. The leaders hold a meeting to decide the direction in which they should go. It is decided that Gensokyo will be permitted a form of self-governance within the Imperium, while the Moon will join the Tau Empire. The final scene of the roleplay is the election and inauguration of Byakuren Hijiri as Imperial Governor of Gensokyo to celebration and fanfare.
