So key prices have gone back down to 7 ref or so and hat prices are also getting more varied, no longer being universally 1.33 each. I even spotted one guy who insisted on buying and selling keys for the old price of 2.33, and apparently he had managed to gain 200 keys that way within the past year. Dunno what's going on with the market, but there's a lot of sudden deflation going on. I would have thought that impossible thanks to the F 2 P update.

Also on the subject of trading, scrap.tf is closed until a particular trading exploit has been fixed. From what I've heard, it involves how people with almost-full inventories can steal items from you.
"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."I think Valve must have messed up something, since ever since the new update my laptop can't enter TF 2 servers anymore. Every time I try the game immediately crashes. It's never done this before in a whole year of playing, at least never that soon. And Valve had that last-minute update today to fix the glitch they accidentally made today that prevented Mac users from even starting the game. I've tried verifying my files. Whatever it is, I hope Valve fixes it soon.
I believe they said it had something to do with how the servers are labeled or something? Usually they make a big note about it in the updates to let people know, but it was forgotten. I don't know the whole technical part of it, but I did hear they were working on it or... something.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorSomething like that I figure would just keep me from entering the server, not crash the game the minute I join. Whatever. Managed to fix the crashing problem for now, minus a really annoying buzzing playing every time I die.
So it appears it was a Valve problem, as they've disabled all non-default MOTD server-entrance ads. That was usually when my game would crash. Hooray for no ads!
That's not a Valve problem, that's a Valve solution. :P
He said the crash was the problem.
I'm quite aware. I was just trying to humorously point out how the crash was caused by a solution. I even put in a :P face and everything. :<
Key prices are continuing to drop, starting to see some at 6.88 now. It's a shame that the official TF2 economy analysis blogs aren't updated anymore, but my personal theory is that people were getting fed up with 8.66 ref prices and thus more were buying keys from the Mann Co. store. Thus, more keys in the system. I'm curious to see how low it will get, and whether 2.88 prices were really the "golden age" of trading as claimed.

I'm destroying all of my metal. All of it.
The world will look up and shout "Save us", and I'll look down and whisper "Too bad, Waluigi Time" Vote Loki 2016it's been awhile since I played, and I forgot about how BS soldiers and demos are. "What are their strengths?" "All of them"
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"Hey, instead of destroying it, how about giving it to me at http://steamcommunity.com/id/dangerouscandyandhardknocks/ ?
"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."Yeah, I'm trying to get back into TF 2 and I am rusty as hell. I'm struggling to do good with the freaking Sniper, which is basically the closest thing the game has to basic COD shit.

...
Sigh. I recall when keys were 2.66 Ref of worth. Those were the days. Honestly, I don't see what could hurt Valve to include such keys as rare drops alongside cosmetics.
grahThat negates the point of destroying it.
The world will look up and shout "Save us", and I'll look down and whisper "Too bad, Waluigi Time" Vote Loki 2016Why waste it like that? If you're trying to influence to economy, you'll do more hurt to yourself and your friends than help prices,
Yeah, one person destroying all their metal is going to be a blip at best to the economy. The simple truth is that there are more players of TF2 ever since the F2P update, there are more people going premium, and thus there are more people crafting, trading, and bringing about items of worth like hats and kits.

I went premium a while back, but only so I wouldn't play an irritating inventory space game within the game. And generally, I trash hats.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"Don't trash hats. Craft the common hats (into more hats) and trade/donate the normal hats. ;__;
If you're not premium you can't trade, so hats means giving up a weapon.
It's why I don't have a gibus

"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"Hey guys, I was finnaly able to trade for a Tide Turner, and here's my first thought: HOLY SHIT WHY ISN'T THE BOOTIES TURN RATE LIKE THIS.
Well, Tide Turner turn rate with Splendid Screen charge damage would be pretty absurd. But the Booties really need a buff. Maybe to running speed?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Good idea. But still, they could at least make the turn for the booties noticeable, but not as crazy as the Tide Turner's.
Although, how fast would said speed be?
I believe I've seen that bug at least once before, but it was a pretty long time ago.
