in case this hasn't been posted yet
We also buy spirits at a local central market and sell it in our drink outlet, so it never striked me wierd that you could do the same in Recettear. The Merchant guild probably buys in huge quantities and only sells to members.

Huh, I just started playing this again. Forgot that if I know I am not going to be able to pay the bill in time, spend EVERYTHING.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenMan, I'm wondering when Territoire will be done now...
Give me cute or give me...something?Well, now that the thread's been necro'd (cute costumes, by the way), I'd like to express my appreciation for this game. It scratches a very specific itch, and it does so quite magnificently.
I mean, it's not the only game on the market that simulates a fantasy business, but it certainly does so without heavy plot getting in the way of the fun. Capitalism, ho!
Hearing the (inaccurate) comparisons to Atelier got me into that and so I've found a new series among my favourites, so there's that too.
I'm so grateful to this game. I just wish it was ported to a handheld so I'd have more chances to play it.
It'll probably run on a 7-inch-screen netbook running Windows 7 Starter.
Doubtful. The game got slowdown on a Lenovo T420 for me a couple of years back, and that has higher specs than most 7-inch netbooks probably have. Though the required specs don't seem that high, so something else may have caused that.
If there are good ones out there, I may do just that for a few games.

I don't know about that, but my PC is a piece of crap right off the store shelf, and it runs (and records) fine.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenWhy do I suck at this game :(
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesAre you following Tear's advice literally and charging everything at 130%?
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenNo. I build up Just bonuses and stuff but I am stuck in one erly part (I only have charme and the mercenary kid) and everything super expensive I have is on perma-cheaper costs due to the market and my save is like a week before that.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesIf you can't build up the funds in a week, just let the debt time out and take you back to the beginning. You have to do the story again, BUT you keep all of your store upgrades. And inventory. But not the money.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenBut the game over screen is so saaaaaaaad ;_;
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesI bought this on sale last week on Steam, at the same time as Dragon Age Origins. Guess which game has more playtime.
I think I intentionally failed three times before finally passing on a playthrough. I'd already read the trope page before playing (why I put it on my wish list, actually) so I knew about that convenient feature, and made sure to spend everything and then spend day 8 dungeon crawling on the first time around. On week three the second time, I wasn't paying attention to what day it was and so missed the payment I could have easily made, then purposefully failed it on week three the third time around to stock up on rare items, then pushed max profit until I was above the dollar limit before hunting just pin bonuses again. Quite a fun game, and I intend to go back on endless and try to fusion some more items.
What's everyone's favorite adventurer to run with? I tend to stick with Louie - even after taking medication, Charme and Calliou just die too damn fast, and I hadn't unlocked anyone else yet.
That’s the epitome of privilege right there, not considering armed nazis a threat to your life. - Silasw
You're going to have to do several repeats anyway to get their adventurers guild cards so... :P
Louie is always a starter favorite though, due to being the most balanced of the hireable adventurers. Hmm, you remind me that I still haven't gotten Arma...
I like how Louie can block pojectiles without having to time a parry.
I have a message from another time...In terms of adventurer to use in dungeon, I like Nagi the most. Especially that she's the only character who is actually being able to deal maximum damage at RANGE (Tielle and Caillou doesn't count, since their best attack require them to go practically melee due to its spread, and without that their damage are kind of subpar). Being able to keep enemy at a distance is always good.

Give me cute or give me...something?Eh. While I'm sure particular adventurers shine in certain encounters, you can always count on Louie to get in there and get shit done no matter what.

#IceBearForPresidentBuilding up support from the customers is much better than squeezing every last possible pix from them.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenThe tutorial lies. Lies!
In what way?
I have a message from another time...130% market price is overcharging for most customers. Old people and little girls will become your hated enemies should you try to adhere to it fully.

I always assumed the Merchants Guild is the Recettear universe's equivalent of Costco. Not everything people buy at Costco is in bulk either, and there are plenty of businesses that buy from Costco to resell at a markup.
