Part of the voice actress "package" is generally presenting an image of "purity". IE: virginity. If they know she has a boyfriend it could get bad. Or not. It depends, really. There's some variation in the precise image different people present.
Honestly though, if the full story gets out, that they've loved each other since middle school yet haven't even allowed themselves to see each other... Well, I can't see that hurting a purity image. If anything that might make her more popular. I could see that being the final resolution.

What if the casting directors want to appear impartial in their judgement and worry that casting one of the magakas' girlfriends will seem unprofessional?
"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoI think Miho is could be the one stalling her career when she rejected many job offers. (That is my opinion, obviously the manga will be about what-is-name being the new villain).

I can't help but wonder if he still feels slighted after those years at high school when he smugly suggested that Takagi can join up with him only because he perceived himself as a better artist than Mashiro while coming out like a troll and earned his beating from Takagi. It seems like I'm guessing, but people can surprise you at how much they can carry a grudge regardless of how petty they come off as. Once he puts 2 and 2 together, he'll probably do his best to derail Ashirogi Muto's little idea.
Of course, if this ends well, they'll probably pull the same thing on the bastard the same way Takagi eventually came up with when the PCP copycat crimes were running rampart.
I sometimes think that Japanese culture regarding seiyuus is a bit... off kilter, but I wonder about the kind of person that joins up with a female seiyuu. If it's a total creep, I can understand, but if it's a really good person who supports the female seiyuu and her career, no one has to object about it.
Also, see Maaya Sakamoto and Kaori Nazuka. Since they got married, they can sustain their careers if they do this right.
Have you ever danced with tropes on the pale moonlight? If nothing else it might cost her the job on Reversi, due to favoritism claims.
Nothing like getting their anime and Miho NOT getting the part to throw a wrench into the old dream factory.

Hmm...
I'd accept the favouritism claims for the free advertising if I were in charge. There is No Such Thing as Bad Publicity, after all.

Those issues are coming crashing down bit by bit with the current episode. This will become a big mess unless something can be worked out.
Have you ever danced with tropes on the pale moonlight?Y'know what the worst part is?
I can't see any way for that bastard to get his comeuppance for this.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."When this arc wraps up, he should become even more envious, hate everyone involved even more, and feel more miserable about his life. But other than that... yeah, worce I can see happening is him being ostrisized (spl?) by the online community/media. And the first can be avoided just by changing his user accounts.
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!Serious Business ensues!
<<I can't believe my Azukyun has a boyfriend! If they kissed, does that mean I've indirectly kissed Moritaka Mashiro-sensei every time I kissed my Azukyun body pillow? *nerd rages while looking fat because fat people are evil*>>
I really do wonder how this is playing on 2chan...
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.<<I don't get why everyone is getting worked up over this. I think it's really sweet that Azuki Miho is in love with Ashirogi. That's awesome! Reminds me of Little Kuriboh marrying Marianne Miller. But I guess that is a cultural thing and all. Stupid fanboys. Don't ostracise somebody over petty fanboyism. >>
A corpse should be left well enough alone...Honestly, my biggest concern with this arc is that Takagi underestimated how people can overreact and that this series has unbearable villains.
It's really good to finally see an arc that actually focuses on Mashiro and Azuki's relationship. We've needed something like that after so long.
Unfortunately, he was posting as an Anon, so there's not even that much potential for justice. In fact, the chances of this being even traced back to him at all are pretty low.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."I'm hoping Ashirogi pulls some strings and make it so that they can simply tell the anime studios "If we can't get Miho in that role, forget animating our work."
<<Maybe it's because I live in another country entirely, but I've never let the fact that voice actresses have personal lives get me down like some of you guys. After all, my chances of scoring with Miho-chan were always roughly the same as my chances of scoring with oh say Sailor Moon. If she wants to get laid sometimes, no skin off my nose.
<<I'm way more concerned with Viz pressuring Mangastream and Redhawk into not posting scanlations of Zombie*Gun and Reversi any more. Apparently, they're serious about wanting people to use their pay site SJ Alpha. Actually having to pay for the privilege of waiting two whole weeks after the print version? Bummer.>>
The worst thing is many japanese otaku act like that for real. I know about one female mangaka that get massively flamed just cause her heroine weren't virgin. I am realy glad I am western otaku and don't have anything with these egoistic desilusional and pathetic bastards.
Yes thats it.

You are talking about GE Good Ending, non? Yeah, that was quite the riot over a whole lot of nothing.
It's out.
Fukuda being awesome as always.
Hah, Wow.
Fukada's face, absolutely hilarious. I wonder what he's going to say.
Also, who knew that Tale of Blue Leaves would be back, lol!
Paint me as cynical, but I bet next week chapter going to be about how pure Mashiro and Azuki romance is, not about fans should respect the private lives of voices actresses, mangakas or idols. Bakuman, if you have balls then tell off those people, tell them off!
I have to agree, sadly. I am willing to forgive it, however. Because Fukuda is awesome.
Of course we're going to like what we'll see next week because it's freaking Fukuda! He's no stranger when it comes to do awesome things and I can guess that things will start turning around for the better once they get the message.
I won't mind if the authors give an epic Take That! to the miserable failures that are the so-called "otakus". This is one of those times when you can nod your head and say "I'm okay with this."
Give them hell, Fukuda! Also, LOL at the caption in the chapter's last page that says that Fukuda looks out of control when it reality it's the complete opposite.
Have you ever danced with tropes on the pale moonlight?Rather than cynicism, expecting that only reflects Medium Awareness. Anything else would be a shocking twist, especially considering the set up.
I was expecting someone to go on the internet anon, and hit up a counter rumor, but this works too.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.
So how exactly would being exposed as having a relationship with a Mangaka be a career killer? What in the culture surrounding seiyuu would cause that? Just curious is all, I don't know a damn thing about Japanese Voice Actor Fandom.
