Puni Plush, the curvier the face the cuter they are. That's not what really is making them the most popular though although cuteness is a part of it.

The maids are awesome, especially the blue one. Honestly, the main character needs to drop his obsession with the Designated Love Interest because the blue twin has her beat hands down. Just so you know, the twin thing is not a gimmick. It is actually really important to keep the two straight, and I missed some stuff early on because I just thought of them as "the twins."

A lot of the hype comes from surprise. It started out as a pretty cool action show with an interesting premise, and it keeps up an innocent facade for a fairly long time. Yeah, there's some blood and dark moments, but it doesn't get super dark until past ten episodes at least. Episode fifteen was the serious gut-punch, and it was nearly perfect.

The two episodes since then haven't been that good though, and the show is just starting to feel like Akame Ga Kill. I don't like the main character anymore, I know better than to get attached to anyone else, and I'm not going to be particularly surprised or moved if someone dies horribly or turns out to have been Alive All Along.

Subaru ain't supposed to be likable. He's the guy who is the embodiment of all the NEE Ts that project themselves on to the Gary Stu protagonists of Light Novels (Kirito, Bell, ETC) and is basically shown that a normal dude in a Dark Fantasy setting would not be happy or be able to swoon all the ladies just because he helps solve their problems, even with the Return by Death Mechanic. That's the Deconstruction aspect. He's even foiled by Reinhard, who's basically meant to be the equivalent of the Gary Stu protags you see in Light Novel's of the genre all the time.

The anime is still in the prologue of the entire Web Novel, too, as of Sunday's episode.

Where we are at right now, he's only at the beginning of the journey.

also, the This Loser Is You is played seriously as opposed to for laughs like most other series.

Tappei Nagatsuki is considered in Japan to be their equivalent of George RR Martin, even above the likes of the urobutcher.

This Loser Is You absolutely blows ass when played seriously. It just ruins the entire thing especially when it screws over undeserving people, like Re Zero.

When played comically it can be quite funny especially when its all self inflicted and not screwing over other undeserving people, like Kono Suba the entire party deserves each other and they know it.

I actually mentioned this, because I just checked out and promptly dropped Konjiki no Word Master - Yuusha Yonin ni Makikomareta Unique Cheat which incidentally also is about a guy transported to a fantasy world, except he's a misanthropic arrogant asshat and the series acts like he's doing everyone a favor by bothering to breath.

Re:zero actually takes that to its natural conclusion in Arc 4 in the original Web Novel:

He gets an offer from the Witch of Greed to have him be a test subject for his Return by Death, in the IF chapter, he agrees, and by abusing it, is able to be such an emotion faker that it scares people, Emilia becomes clingy as hell to him, Reinhard, the foil that's meant to be the parody of your usual Gary Stu MC, hates him, and Subaru cycles through this forever, leading to a bad end.

Haven't seen Re:Zero but I've seen This Loser Is You done pretty well in other works, although some of them were videogames and not anime.

Whether you end up Loving it or Hating it, I'd say to give it a shot.

It's the closest we'll get so far to a Dark Souls anime, and is a better Berserk anime then the current Berserk anime (Cringe).

Anything is a better berserk anime than the current berserk anime.

Praise the new berserk anime. The reactions of either pure, unbridled salt or a desperate, "it's better than nothing" outlook on the whole thing is hi-lariois either way.

I'm ten episodes in on Paradise Kiss. I wish I didn't know how everything will come crashing down on the main couple beforeahand, since the last two episodes I saw are doing a good job at faking out a happy end.

All the complaints about the new Berserk anime just make me want to watch it more.

I couldn't make it past the first episode. It was honestly as bad as most people say it is, the visuals alone were just an auto-drop to me.

If the Studio that did Knights Of Sidonia or Cyber Connect 2 did it, I would have tried it.

But no, its the studio who did that shitty terraformars adaptation a while back.

The new Musou game and the PS 2 game have more expressive models and better animation than the new anime. I know that probably sounds like a big hyperbole if you haven't seen it, but it's honestly true.

Maybe Berserk Musou will provide a bit of solace to the disappointed Berserk fans out there (the worst teaser ever aside). If you like -Warriors, that is. If you don't, the manga is always available anytime.

Baby Steps has left me deflated in a way I haven't felt since Shinigami-sama to 4-nin kanojo. Scanning is hard, free work but the fact that they are more than a hundred chapters behind breaks my heart.

Wouldn't be the first time I enjoyed something everyone else hated.

Hulu is remove a bunch of anime in 3 day. If you use it, you should check your queue.
