You mean the anime? Episodes 25 and 26 were great and certainly better than End of Evangelion, which I turned my brain off halfway into because it was such nonsense.
NGE's plot is bad and EOE was nothing but the plot. Episode 25 and 26 were about the characters, and the characters are what make Evangelion.
Yes I mean episode 25 and 26. As for EOE well I´ve seen worse the visuals made it just about bareble. Rewatched it and I still don´t know what the fuck is going on.

Crappy Dali imitator and producer of generalized bad art http://kamilkovakaramelka.deviantart.com/when i was watching the tv series i found the last two episodes just really BORING.
like yes they're about the characters but most of it is just them telling us information we already know if we've been paying attention, with copious reuse of stock footage.
Was the high school AU in the last couple episodes? I can't exactly recall.
I find it endlessly entertaining a lot of the EVA spinoffs build on that more than the actual show.
On another note, IGN.com ranked Shinji as No. 1 Greatest Anime Character in February 2014. So naturally, someone posted a collection of pics (beginning with a 5-part series by one artist) where fellow EVA characters either are or can construed to be congratulating Shinji in their own ways (the actual series: [1]◊ [2]◊ [3]◊ [4]◊ [5]◊ [6]◊). I especially liked the last two, for different reasons.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.i wouldn't put shinji at number one necessarily, but i do think people give him way too much shit. people can't help if they're strong or not, shinji's more or less doing his best with the shitty hand he's been given. at the end of the day he DOES get into the goddamn robot.
There are two reasons why Shinji may be disliked.
The obvious one is that he isn't manly, tough, willing to fight, which grates in a show with fighting as its main plot.
The other is that he doesn't do anything to help the situation he's in. He's a fine illustration of a despondent mindset, but no pointers as to how to emerge from it. He doesn't even try and fail, which would make him a true tragic hero. Instead the last episode tells us he will improve despite having done nothing for it.
But likeable or not, the cast is very telling. Hence all the spin-offs and fanfiction putting them in a different situation.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.Shinji takes up to fighting, which is really all he can do to improve his situation— he can't do a single thing to actually twhart SEELE or NERV. Once the events start going really downhill, he pretty much quits trying, but let's be honest, at that point Evangelion's plotting becomes a complete exercise of damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Like Napoleon says, Shinji does try, and fights against the Angels. It's not his fault things go to hell. By then, it was beyond almost everyone's reach to change the situation. SEELE and Gendo both tried to accomplish their own goals, but Rei ultimately screws them both over.
Personally, I think a big reason many Western fans dislike Shinji is because of Spike Spencer. His portrayal really hits the wrong notes for many people, and you don't the same kind of reactions from people who heard Megumi Ogata as Shinji first.
I think I'm going to bow out permanently from this thread. We go in circles too much. Eva has truly been argued to death, and I feel like I've said everything that I've wanted to say.
So... Nothing on the series of images that I had linked to?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I like the Pen-Pen one.

"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."Inorite? I have this mental image of him being quite possessive of his food, so for him to actually offer it to his de facto primary caretaker note would be a major sign that he does appreciate all the boy does for him.
It's even better with the Funny Background Event of Asuka and Misato grilling Kaji for his creepy stunt in the penultimate image.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Indeed. Kaji pretty much acted like a creep in that pic.
"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."It may even count as a second backhanded CMOH for Asuka (the first being the image where she's actually congratulating Shinji in a tsundere-typical way). She might overtly be complaining about Kaji walking all over her feelings with his stunt, but deep down I believe that she's mostly angry that he had the gall to pull such a mean prank on Shinji of all people.
... And she might just be a bit jealous that she didn't think of such a flirtatious way to express her happiness for Shinji. Which would also terrify/shock her more prudish side, come to think of it.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Beautiful
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheySo... Asuka used to have freckles in some of her pre-production design proposals. What do you think, besides that it's realistic for a light-skinned redhead to typically also have freckles?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Might've crashed with her current personality. I mean, freckles are, in the general public's mind, not exactly the mark of the type of girl Asuka tries to make herself out to be.
I can see her having freckles at birth but taking measures to get rid of them as she reached puberty, though.
Well, a couple of fanfics by this one author (one is a group-Peggy Sue plot, another is essentially a continuation of the original anime) do have canon!Asuka with freckles... just not on her face. Or, for that matter, anywhere where you can see them without her being in a... compromising state of dress. To be more specific, the Peggy Sue-fic Asuka's freckles are apparently on her butt, according to the very last chapter.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus....huh. What's point of even having them, then, if it's purely for fetishistic purposes?
Because the freckles aren't for us readers. They're used as a sort of reward for Shinji doing something really nice for Asuka... or her just wanting to be lovey-dovey with him (she's really tired of being all tsun and no dere, in-story). We don't even get a clear description of what they look like, just that they're... well, there.
Mind you, in both stories the author has the couple's guardians (and parents, in one story) making sure that they don't move too fast into the relationship. The Peggy Sue fic even has them placed under quite a lot of behavioral restrictions... and with surprisingly good reason, given that the first time they manage to sneak in a deep kiss when no one is looking, they end up getting carried away and almost hitting a homerun, which scared both of them as they admit they're not ready to go that far yet.
PS: For the record, the other fic has the freckles located on the chest area (no specifics given).

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. It may not be 3.0 + 1.0, but it's still Evangelion related all the same.
Interesting. Someone remind us when it gets actually released, please?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.
I am I the only weirdo who enjoyed the last episode? Its not something for most people but it was sureal and interesting.
