Goddammit, another PS 3 exclusive...I'm really starting to wonder if maybe I should actually get one of those...

Hm...it better not have the ridiculous battle system of Record Of Agarest War and Cross Edge. Well, the battle systems were good, but Agarest had way too many battles, and Cross Edge was extremely confusing at some points (The menus...*shudder*).

Also, how the hell did they get the rights to use characters based off of the PS 3 main competitors? Japan is wierd...

...Because there's no copyright? It's just a personification, an original one the company made at that, there's no law against making your own personification of something, there's plenty of PS 3/360-tans floating around the internet and there's no "official" one so it's simply an internet concept taken into game form.

But the game still uses the symbols and possibly names of the consoles. Those are copyrighted, aren't they?

...No, in game I actually think they're called "Noire" "Vert" and "Blanc" instead of PS 3, 360, and Wii to avoid name royalty, based off the trailer at least and even then they pay the company the royalty for using the name "360" not a big deal.

Anyway I've always been interested in concepts like the OS-tan's and to see a game based entirely around the personifications of the big three makes me excited, moe be damned if that ruins it.

Er... things like OS-tans are pretty much moe by definition. So, you know, moe is kind of expected with a game concept like this. It's the whole point.

English website is up, a lot of weird name puns, I get most of them like Lastation (Playstation) and Leanbox (Xbox), but what is Avenir, the company damaging the PS substitute, supposed to be?

And apparently the heroine is the PC and the villain is Arfoire (R4).

I wonder if this game is going to have an Unexpected Shmup Level...  *

Either way, I'm looking forward to this game. Even if it is just for the Moe girls.

English trailer is up!

Already the weeaboos are saying the English dub sucks, as if you can tell from three lines of what is obviously battle dialogue.

I'm pretty sure it's more than three lines they show, and the dub doesn't really sound that great anyway so I'm sure they aren't "weeaboos" for disliking it.

Yeah, okay. Think I'll wait until I can hear more than random battle yells, one line of dialog from If, and an intentionally matter-of-fact backstory read before I decide the dub is crap or not. But hey make whatever conclusions you want. Pretty sure that jappenese audio track has been confirmed.

It showed battle voices from four characters and an example of two in-story ones, not exactly "throw-away" lines.

Sorry about that, anyway anyone going to order the limited edition box? I like artbooks but I don't like shelling out the extra money...

Battle voices are always ridiculous, regardless of language. I turn them off whenever a game lets me. That leaves one line from If with no context and a sound from Neptune herself. Not a fair sampling. Juddgement reserved pending additional trailers/previews/reviews.

EDIT: on the fence about the artbook. It's hard enough explaining to my wife why I want this game already.

For most Original English works they sound fine, God of War, Fallout, etc.

Anyway, I wonder what the size/ data cap will be for the summons pulled from your photo album. I'd love lay down some hurt with assorted Rina Cat (current avatar source) or Garv pics, but they can be pretty huge...

First ten minutes of the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd1kAxNFKwg

The dub is fine. Its not Atlus USA good, but its not the unholy abomination that the - um - purists seem to insist it is. Honestly why they want to whine about that but turn a blind eye to 13 y/o gameplay mechanics is beyond be. If I was a JRPG developer in a post-DQ IX world and I still had random battles in my game, I'd be pretty freakin' embarrassed.

You're ignoring YMMV just as much as any supposed "purists" are saying, of which I've seen probably five of for this game, your stance that "LOL you only like the Japanese because you're a weeaboo" is just as flawed as any "weeaboo's" stance.

I don't hate the dub, it just falls into the same pitfalls for me as most dubs do, "Trying Too Hard" and the fact the text came from a Japanese source written by a Japanese person with knowledge of the Japanese language, It's the same reason why 300 sounds better in english then Japanese.

Anyway this game is coming out soon, yay!

Trying too hard. Okay. I'll just have to take it at your word that there is a far more natural way to call someone "thunder-tits" in Japanese. Truly it's a far more nuanced language than I gave it credit for.

Shame the video ended right as the battle was starting. I was hoping to see Neptune go out in a blaze of glory. But I can wait until its in my hot little hand.

Damn Feb is shaping up to be an expensive month between this, Dragon Age 2, and Marvel vs Capcom 3. I wonder which one will get a price cut first...
