Stopped reading. I couldn't take her constant praise of the dude.

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.I've decided not to pirate anime for a while. Maybe I'll watch it later.

Wait, why have you sworn off pirating anime if you still pirate manga.
PS: Also, I really wish they had a larger budget for this series. The few scenes they really animated fully and carefully are gorgeous! The rest... not quite so much.

ep15:
Well, the flashbacks have basically explained Kurumi's actions w/r/t Kazehaya enough for me— it doesn't make them any more or less right, but at least they're justified in-story. Her mistreatment by her "friends" is pretty much why she thinks she can't approach Kazehaya directly, because she's afraid of getting backstabbed, so she tries to manipulate everyone else out of the loop beforehand.
I kind of want to see where the series takes nu-Kurumi; her confession to Kazehaya and explicit declaration of rivalry with Sawako seem to show that she's going to be more honest with everyone. In her own little funny way.

Spoiler bookmarklet for iPhone and iPod touchRevisiting this statement I made in the OP, as I do have to say that the music in this series really has grown on me even more than I thought it would. The OP has even elevated itself to "Unskippable" status for me, which is fairly rare (Aoi Hana and Nodame Cantabile being the only other series that qualify.)
All in all, I just adore this series. I don't find it to be a masterpiece plot or animation wise, but it never fails to make me feel good while watching it. I don't see how I could ask for too much more in a series.
Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project! When you watch streaming video you download it, it's just not manipulable without shady tools.
Most anime I watch are popular things that aren't too hard for me to buy, like Ghost In The Shell Standalone Complex. Most of the manga that I read are never (officially) translated into English, and if they are then I can just get them from the library. Also, the main reason I swore of anime piracy is as a self-psychological measure to get me to buy more. Right now all I have is Full Metal Panic, which I don't even like. </offtopic>

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Worry not about the shackles of gender roles, my friend! Tear them apart with your strong yet elegant hands! Together, we shall ride into a new dawn, into the glorious lands where a man may love another man if he is sufficiently girly!
That...
Is my dream.
GRAAAAAAAH.
I KNEW KURUMI WAS TROUBLE! TROUBLE! TROUBLLLLLLLLLLE!!!! AAAARGH!
You'll have to be more specific.
HUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH
... I just watched like half the series in one go.
KURUMI!!!!!!
... I can't believe she actually ended up being a sympathetic character. I already knew the moment I saw her that she's a back-stabbing snake, and then she turned out to be one, and then stuff, and then POW and WHAM and then the whole misunderstanding with Pin happened and I actually felt sorry for her and I was like "Faw you're not supposed to feel sorry for her" but then I was like "wait a second would this series actually end up with an unsympathetic monster for a villain?! I guess it's to be expected... Alas!" and then she was actually sympathetic anyway SOMEHOW and her characterization after the confession was AWESOME and.
I love this series. ._.
Pin/Kurumi = best Crack Pairing.
My FF.net accountI guess when the best couples are taken, the leftovers have to.. lower their.. standards? A bit? In, uh. All sorts of ways?
Also, I read the rest of the thread now! ... There's ecchi in the manga? Or did I just misread that.
There's a reason why Kimi Ni Todoke was the best anime of the Fall 2009 season.
My FF.net accountI flagged Ume Kurumi as trouble from the get-go.
What I find strange and a little sad about this anime is that it's educational for me. Did you ever hear of teenage boys reading shojo to learn about relationships? That's what this anime is doing for me,but it's also teaching me what the subtle little eye movements, voice stresses and meaningful pauses mean. Even (gods help me) how you know you've got a friend.
And now it's helping me to recognise the insincere ones. As my Aspergers book said,"Not everyone who is nice to me is my friend."
I know it's fictional and a caricature,but it's helping.
EDIT:Sawako has Aspergers Syndrome

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Again, tis why Kimi Ni Todoke is Made Of Win. Really, it's the epitome of Rousseau Was Right.
My FF.net accountHmm, I'm probably in a different position, since I'm not exactly autistic (or so I think ), but watching this, I noticed a couple of the things I've learned recently, and also a couple lessons about... well, how to be a nice person, I guess. But what really got to me was the bit about how Kazehaya described Sawako in episode 15... I had to pause and think for a moment, there.
@Mapi: Pin/Anyone = best crack pairing.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. Not terribly sad, no. You make do with what you have. you don't have an easy time coming to understand people's emotions and you're trying to. This anime, with all of the stylistic exaggerations of facial features, focuses on human relationships and how the main character tries to make them work. I'm rather touched that you're able to do so, really.
Perhaps its just my humanist sensibilities mingling with my inner idealist, but I find people finding their own way to happiness really comforting.
an heroic gesture would do the world goodThank you. I'm still trying to map my own feelings as well.

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Mapi, that's the third time you've cited that trope in this thread.
Episode 15 was hilarious. I loved Kurumi's "transformation", also, her reaction when Kazehaya said he loved someone else "THAT'S OBVIOUS!"
Wonderful show, btw.
