Doesn't Power Herb already skip recharge turns? I've never used it for that so I don't know, but it seems like a reasonable assumption.

I mean, Dialga isn't the only Pokemon with a Hyper Beam clone for a signature move, guys. Necrozma and all the Starters are in that boat too.

On a side note, I've gotten back to the Ultra Beast mission and I'm wondering: what are the two best Natures for Celesteela?

Power Herb skips the charge turn for moves such as Geomancy and Solar Beam, but it does not skip the recharge turn for moves like Hyper Beam and Giga Impact.

[up] Any nature that boosts its defensive stat.

I remember back in my noob days i thought the Power Herb skipped the recharge turn of Hyper Beam and its clones, as well as the intended effect.

I guess that would've been cool, would've made Hyper Beam and its clones a bit more useful.

Theoretical new move: Bubble Explosion (Water Type Overheat clone, with distribution similar to what Overheat and Leaf Storm get).

As a side mention: make Overgrow, Blaze, Torrent, and Swarm increase the Power of Grass, Fire, Water, and Bug Type moves, respectively, by 100% instead of 50% at 1/3 HP, and when it's activated, give the Pokemon using the Ability a cool aura and it's called out in a dialogue box.

[up][up] Quite disappointed that they went down the "third version" route instead of sequels. At least you made a good effort in hiding the URL. Please tell me this is something other than Rick Astley, lol. Edit: eh, I think I would've preferred Rick Astley, now that I look at it. :P

[up]Yeah, I like B/W2 for that reason and it helps that they were good sequels.

Black 2 and White 2 are probably the most underrated Pokemon games. Most people who played Black and White never even bothered with the sequels, and I think they're just a good, albeit in slightly different ways.

[up]Really I think if they had simply let mons from Gens 1-4 stay in the main game and the post game, and maybe added one bonus area in the main game to appease those that like "non linearity" in pokemon games (even though the games aren't really nonlinear, they just give the appearance of being it), the love it or hate it viewpoint for B/W1 wouldn't exist. But I feel as though making it Gen V pokemon only was a step in the right direction because let's be honest, you can only use the same geodude/zubat/Tentacool-line spam combo for so long before it gets boring. It really made me dissappointed that the backlash from some of Gen V's choices made them drop the idea of doing something like that again.

But most that have played the sequel games said that they're some of the best mainline games, and I have to agree, if because the changes they made weren't just the typical "Third game touch up" and actually added a lot more stuff to the based games to actually make them worthy of being called sequels, even if the story was somewhat weaker (but not X/Y levels of bad). I think B/W2 had the best balance of New/Old mons dexwise

I'd take Basculin, Frillish, Roggenrola, and Woobat over Tentacool, Geodude, Wingull, and Zubat any day. Plus, Gen V is the generation when I got back after a long absence after Gen I, so I guess I'm biased in favor.

Perhaps next generation they can do away with all those Com Mons trash that appeared in every or almost every regional dex and have reasonable replacements without resorting to absolute Suspiciously Similar Substitutes for the entire dex.

Noibat isn't a Com Mon, but I understand where you're coming from. Maybe make it a rare find in an early route?

Noibat would be an interesting choice in this regard, especially since it could turn into a useful asset later on in the main game.

Anyway, I was just playing along an April Fools' joke up there, but I'm glad it evolved into a cool conversation. And yes, I really prefer they do sequels over a third version for SM.

I also wished that Noibat had stats in between Zubat and Golbat instead of the stats of Zubat.

After months of absent. I've decided to catch up with Cybertron's Road to Rank series.

Man, keeping up with the new Pokemon is a daunting task.

For some reason, Smogon has VGC sets for many Pokemon but don't have Singles sets for them.

Whoa, Talonflame's BL 2. I guess Rotom DOES scares it shitless.

Fucking heck, showdown.

It requires you to have different nicknames for your Pokemon.

So I can't have a Maui themed team. ://////

It's a small detail, but I appreciate that Game Freak deliberately doesn't mention pronouns anytime they release something goofy talking about how muscular Machamps are.

So now that the Sun/Moon hype has died down somewhat, how should we go about fixing Lusamine's character profile and on the YMMV page? They all say pretty conflicting things about her.

...Maybe the third version/sequel will clear it up? XD

Well a lot of stuff is implied and not directly states, so it's difficult to say what's up with her.

My impression of the Pokemon.

Garchomp: Without Landorus and Excadrill, the classic purple shark faces little competition in the metagame. Mudsdale is the Trick Room equivalent (without spread move) and Krookodile is the Intimidate alternative. I expect another 2014 year for Garchomp.

Tapu Bulu: Y U NO Play rough? Grassy Woodhammer is awesome but grass is kind of a crummy STAB. Bulu is the one most needed of a second STAB but the only who doesn't get it.

Tapu Koko: It's weird to see a Pokemon with its highest offense a Dump Stat. I'm surprised that its relevant stats are equivalent to a super fast Rotom with extra HP. Its typing and ability are also super offensive compared to Rotom.

Oranguru: Dat Instruct. Helping Hands on steroid. Sometimes my Gyarados pulls a Dragon Dance twice a turn. Good Trick Room user with Telepathy as icing on cake.

Gyarados: Hopeful for a revival of Sejun's ace. Lack of Mega does make Discharge scarier, but it has new potential teammates to shine.

Alolan Marowak: 80 Base ATK + Thick Club is too stronk (equal to Life Orb Azumarill?). Lightning Rod is no longer redundant. Good coverage with Fire/Shadow/Ground. Underwhelming HP and Ghost STAB though.

Alolan Ninetales: I desperately hoped for Hail to boose Ice attacks. I wish Alolan Ninetales hit a little harder. It does have a good niche of outspeeding Garchomp.

I like how one of the most Obviously Evil looking Pokemon (Gengar) has one of the most harmless dex entries.

It's this living shadow with a Slasher Smile that looks like it's about to suck your life force out and all its entries are just "hides in the shadows and cools the area."

Whereas you get something like Litwick which is this adorable little candle guy that will steal your soul if you stand next to it for too long.
